Break Up

Elise's POV.

These pictures couldn't be real, could they? Damien never mentioned anything about Mercedes. He never said that he met her over there. These photos had to be fake, but what if they weren't?

Damien stopped picking up my calls for a while. Then he messaged me about his things being stolen. He also used a strange number and then instructed me not to call it. Why would he give me such instructions?

"Elise, are you okay?" Roman asked.

I glanced at him and murmured, "Please excuse me,"

I stepped away from him and called the number that Damien used in messaging me. It rang for a while and then a feminine voice answered.

'Hello,' she said.

'Who is this?'

That voice certainly belonged to Mercedes. I didn't know how to feel about this, but I wanted to trust Damien. We had been through a lot together and I doubted that he would want to throw all those years away.
