Lyra’s Pov

The next couple of months were a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Vendora tried everything to cheer me up.

“You know this is not the end of the world?” She asked me one morning after she caught me crying on the bed. 

I sniffed and nodded. 

“ You should be strong for yourself and most importantly for your unborn child” she consoled and held my body that is already frail from weeping”

“I am going to prepare your meal and please promise me you will eat.” I forced a reassuring smile on her and nodded. 

I was warned not to exert myself by talking as my surgery was still healing.

When Vendora left, I couldn’t help but slip

Back into my reality. Rejected, betrayed, almost died, and now pregnant with a baby whose father I barely know. 

“Will fight back with everything I hold dear, for myself and for this baby” I thought to myself.

I held back the tears that were making their way out of my eyes, as this is not a time to cry; rather, it is time for me to train myself and act accordingly.

“Your food is ready,” announced Vendora as she stepped into the room, bearing a tray of bacon and eggs and a teacup. 

“ Thank you so much, Vendora.”

Anytime my dear, she replied. 

 

I looked at her cheerful face and felt so lucky to have her by my side. I have never felt loved by anyone except my father. 

I would like to ask you for a Favour. 

Please I don’t want to go back to the pack. Can stay here for some time after giving birth.

Vendora had always told me how she travelled all over the world as a nurse so no doubt this place was her friends’ whose family was on a long vacation and the house was so big. 

“ I will allow you to stay but it will be till you give birth to your pup.

I felt a rush of relief run through me. I resolved to use this opportunity to plan my revenge and take over my father's company once I return to the pack. 

But before then I have to look for my pup's father and try to get close to him. I believe the goddess will help me locate him.

“ You are doing it again” she said and gently wrapped her hands around my shoulder. 

I felt a shudder run through me and I didn't know when I let out a sob. 

Unhinged tears trickled down my cheeks and I felt ripples of pain through me. 

After what felt like an eternity, I was able to gather myself and clean up my tears. 

I ate my food and got dressed. 

I stepped out with the intention to clear my head. 

The weather was just so good for

A brief walk.

Humans kept staring at me and I know why. 

My new face was a striking beauty and one cannot easily ignore it. 

The Doctors at the Seoul Hospital really did wonders for my face. I cannot even believe it myself. Even though I was scentless at least now I'm glad that I have something to make heads turn. My New Face. 

“ Hello beautiful” I heard a voice call out but I ignored it and kept on walking.  Back home you hardly see one being called out like that. 

Ten minutes later, the car was still trailing behind me. 

“ I'm pregnant or can't you see?” I asked him angrily. 

Rather he revealed a very striking set of teeth as if he didn't hear what I said. 

He got down from the car, stretched his hand, “ Theodore but you can call me Theo” 

This felt new to me but I was open to experiencing this new world. 

He looks rather striking too but unlike most in the Pack who appeared muscular, he was very lanky. 

“ It seems you are new to this city and by the way, you are very beautiful even with your baby bump”

 He complimented me. I was mute and just looked on. He has very striking blue eyes and I was really impressed with the way he appeared so confident. 

I turned around to continue with my walk, and he took my hands and pleaded that I should just spend a little more time with him. 

I hesitated and later agreed. 

He gently led me to the front of his car. 

I sat down but then I felt uncomfortable. 

I felt a slight pain down my spine but then it subsided so I just ignored it. 

How long have you been around he asked

 I didn't want to answer him but then on second thought I decided to

Indulge him. 

He looked like someone who is not giving up anytime soon and I really want to get back home. 

I have just relocated to the city and I wish to spend more time here.

You come from, because your beauty is rare” 

He teased. 

I think he expected me to react but I was stoic and didn't respond to his joke. 

I guess you must be tired? 

I nodded slightly. 

Are you willing to allow me take you home? 

He pleaded. 

“What if he was sent?” I thought to myself but I was also feeling not so strong to walk back to the apartment. 

I nodded in affirmation. 

I saw his face light up, I just can't understand why he finds a heavily pregnant woman attractive, but I guess here they think differently. 

I felt the slight pain again, but this time it stretched down my waistline. I tried to ignore it again but it was building up. 

I knew my pregnancy is a few days due but I never imagined it would be on this particular day. 

“ Are you okay” he asked concernedly as he watched me shift uncomfortably. 

“It's the baby but it's normal, it will stop, 

Thank you very much for asking, I replied. 

The pain came again and this time I felt a trickle down my leg. My water just broke.
