TWENTY-NINE

When he said he wanted to go sightseeing, she knew it was not going to be an ordinary one. Right before she could ask where they were off to next, Hades flicked his finger again and the next thing she realized, they were not in the midlands anymore.

The air felt different. There was not a gloomy hint on it like she felt in the underworld. The sun was scorching and most importantly, she could see people. People she didn’t even see in the underworld.

“Where are we?” she asked, although she already had an inkling of where they might be. She’s just too scared to acknowledge it. The familiarity of a not-so-busy street was what gave it away. She’s not in the underworld anymore.

“Welcome back to the mortal world, Guinevere,” Hades said beside her and she looked at him with wide eyes.

“Why? Why are we here? This isn’t the underworld.”

“I know this isn’t the underworld and as for your other question, I brought you here for some sightseeing. Haven’t I told you?”
