The eyes were back on them as soon as they were out from the dressing rooms. The staff looked at her and some gave her a teasing grin while the others gave her a jealous look.
She looked at Callum and saw that he was back with his poker face as if it was his expression during work hours. Was he not getting tired from having such a blank expression?
Even the photographer looked shocked that they had been close after just a week. But after a while, the photographer grinned and mumbled, “I think it would be easy taking the shots today.”
“Are we all ready?” Margaret asked while her eyes roamed around checking whether everyone was around.
One of the staff raised her hand. “The guests were still on the way. Should we start and just let the guests catch up?”
“We still have time so we could wait for a little while.” Margaret looked at her wristwatch and sat on the side.
The three walked on the side sin
The shoot went on and Bea noticed that though it was a little awkward sometimes, posing with Callum was a little easier compared to last time. Was it because she got closer to him for the last few days?“Can we have Caleb and Bea for the next few shots?” Margaret asked and Callum nodded as he walked towards the side. “Caleb, can you stand on the couch and hug Bea’s neck?”Caleb immediately obeyed and grinned as he hugged her. She hugged him back which made Margaret smile wide and cued for the photographer to take the shots. She was surprised when Caleb kissed her on the forehead and giggled after he did that.“That was perfect, Caleb!” Margaret seemed to be pleased by their adlibs.“I kissed you, you should kiss me on the cheeks too, Miss Bea!” The kid let out a playful laugh.“Sure.” Bea was about to kiss his cheeks but he laughed out loud as he tried to get away from her hold. &ldq
“Are you all right?” Callum asked as soon as they were inside the dressing room. He put Callum on his lap and the child seemed to notice the atmosphere so he just kept his silence.Bea nodded her head but her mind was still a mess. Just what the heck? Why would he even approach her? How dare he have the guts to face her after what she did?She looked away and sighed. “Can I go to my dressing room for a while?”She tried to act tough in front of Caleb since she did not want the child to see that side of her. She wanted to leave with only good memories. She also did not want a young boy worrying about her.Callum nodded and stood up. He put Caleb down on the chair and guided her outside the dressing room. He saw that the man was a few meters away from the door so he immediately blocked Bea’s view of him. The man glared at him but he just ignored him. Even if he did not know who that man as he was sure that Bea did not want anyt
After lunch, Bea went back to her dressing room. She was given light makeup after she washed her face and the hairstylist gave her hair a different style while the other stylist gave her an outfit that was more casual.“You made quite a scene earlier.” Margaret started teasing her again as soon as the woman entered her dressing room.“I wasn’t the one who made the scene. Why was he even there in the first place?” Bea complained. She was still in front of the vanity table since she was waiting for the time to start the shoot.“Who was he?” Margaret looked at her with a teasing grin but her smile faded when Bea let out a sad smile. “He was the one, huh? Let’s not talk about him then.”Bea just nodded. Truth be told, she was not over him yet. She was just trying to bury him deep in her memories. So deep that the memories of him would never resurface. She thought that she was doing a good job trying
“What if I do?” William looked at her but she looked away. What was he saying? After all that he did to her… how could he say those words that might stir her heart once more? Was he not proposing to that girl when she saw them?“Then, I am sorry to tell you this: she won’t want you back,” Callum smirked. “Having someone like me by her side for the past week, do you think she would even think about you?”“You’re lying,” William said through gritted teeth. “Why would she want a man like you?”“Why not?” Callum shrugged. “I am better than you in many ways so, why not?”“You’re someone with a child. Why would a single woman like her choose you instead of me?” William smirked.Bea shook his head in disappointment. She was about to tell him off but Caleb’s voice was heard from behind William before she could even utter a w
“Good morning, Dad.” Caleb went inside Callum’s room and climbed up his bed. “Can I go visit Miss Bea again today?” He lay beside his father and smiled.Callum still had his eyes close and he did not move even after hearing his son’s voice. It had been years since his son approached him first, and it was always because of Bea lately.“You can’t,” Callum slowly opened his eyes and saw his son’s smile fade. “She’s going home today.”“Home?” Caleb’s brows furrowed. “She was living in a hotel room. Where is her home?”“She lived in the province so it would probably take long before you could see her ag—”Caleb already ran out of his room before he could finish what he had to say. Callum dropped himself back to the bed and sighed. It seemed to like Caleb would even choose her more than his own father.“Daddy, let&rsq
It had been hours since she left the capital city and was buried on the bus seat. She got tired of looking at the sceneries and watching them change from being a place full of tall buildings to a highway, then to green farms. The sight of cows and goats munching grass on the side was a familiar sight to her. The more she saw rice fields, the more she felt that she was coming closer to home. Her heart feels warm and there was a tingling sensation within her. She was excited to come home and meet her family. When the bus entered the familiar roads, Bea could feel her heart thumping fast. She had been away for just a week but she already missed her family a lot. She smiled as she saw the familiar stores, the familiar road, and the familiar terminal where the bus stopped. The bus conductor announced that they were at the terminal so Bea picked up her duffel bag and started walking out of the bus. The fresh air of her hometown welcomed her and she took it in with a s
After eating, Bea went to her room with her duffel bag hung on her shoulder. After she dropped the bag on the study table, she dropped her body on the bed and sighed. She looked at the glow-in-the-dark stars that were glued on her ceiling and smiled. She liked the comforting feeling of the familiarity that surrounded her. The travel time was long and she even felt sad leaving Caleb behind, but then she realized that nothing could beat the comfort of her own home. It was her safe haven—her sanctuary. She looked around and smiled sadly when she realized that her room was filled with William’s traces. That was how crazy she was for him. There were pictures of them together were hanging on the wall. On her study table, there were memos of her plans and scheduled late-night talks with him. Her display cabinet was filled with gifts coming from him from stuffed toys to customized mugs, and even dried flower petals carefully tucked inside a few jars. She thr
“Shall we talk outside?” Ben put her arms around Bea’s shoulder and guided her to the terrace. The night was humid and the stars were shining brightly in the dark sky.The two of them sat on the wooden bench. Ben pulled his daughter to lean on his shoulder and sighed.“Can you tell me why you did not contact us for the past week? That was not so you.”Bea took a deep breath when she heard that her father’s tone changed. It was soft, gentle, and warm. It was as if he was trying to comfort her with just the tone of his voice. That was the tone that his father would use every time they needed to be reprimanded for doing something that made him worried. If there was a gentle parent award, her father could have won it.“Papa…” Bea hugged her father tight. She did not want to talk. She did not want to disappoint him. She did not want to make him feel that he should not have approved of William.&ldqu
