REDLAND: NINE MONTHS AGO
Sebastian's P.O.V
“Sebastian, Sebastian the king summons your presence” a maddening loud voice woke me.
‘That must be Carlos’
“Wake up chief” he pried.
“Carlos it's...” there was so much noise as I tried to wake up.
“Why the noise?” I turned rubbing my hurting red eyes, only to be met by a formally dressed Carlos.
I stared at him up and down. He was dressed in his royal guard occasional robes.
“Why are you all dressed up, did I miss something yesterday?” I was conflicted.
“We have visitors” he blurted like it was no surprise.
“Who?”
I was suddenly intrigued by the new information. It had never happened that people would visit the palace without us knowing. It was our duty to know, to prepare for their visits and welcome them.

THE NEXT DAY The next day felt different. Hopeful, so to say. We had been sitting in the lunch tables for what felt like forever. My eyes were scanning each and every one, taking in information. I was a good listener, just a weird one. No one noticed, but I could focus on so many things at a time. She’s probably just busy’ I crouched down and took a stone that was small, and turned to a log that looked like it had been there for decades and wrote on it
