 .

She simply looked at Hatem, listening attentively to what he was saying, without the name meaning anything to her.

She had never heard of him before.

Nouran leaned slightly toward her and whispered,

“Do you really not know who he is?”

Fayrouz looked at her in confusion.

“No. I’ve never heard that name before.”

Nouran’s eyes widened in disbelief, but she had no chance to say anything more, as Hatem resumed speaking.

“I want everyone to understand that this visit is extremely important to the hotel. Therefore, I will not tolerate any negligence.”

He then turned toward the reception staff.

“Reception, you will be the first people to deal with him. I want to make sure all the reservation details are ready and that the check-in process doesn’t take too long. Several people will be accompanying him, so I want everything necessary prepared before they arrive.”

The receptionists nodded.

“And I want you to deal with them with the utmost calm and respect. No personal questions, no side conversations, and no one should act overly familiar. You represent this hotel from the very first moment.”

His gaze then shifted toward the security department.

“Security, I want all the hotel’s entrances and exits inspected thoroughly. Make sure the route leading to the suite is clear of any congestion. I also want the floors where they’ll be staying monitored, but without making the guests feel like they’re being watched.”

He paused for a moment before adding sternly,

“And I don’t want a crowd of employees gathering at the entrance just to catch a glimpse of them. Everyone stays at their assigned post.”

His eyes moved toward the restaurant staff.

“As for the restaurant, I want their private table prepared well before dinner. Review the requested dishes and make sure the kitchen is ready for any additional orders.”

He then looked at one of the supervisors.

“And I want the management to oversee the matter personally. I don’t want a single complaint from the restaurant reaching me.”

He moved on to the maintenance department.

“Maintenance, I want the elevators, air-conditioning units, water supply, and electricity in the floor where the guest will be staying inspected. Check everything, even the things that may seem insignificant. I don’t want us discovering a malfunction after he arrives.”

He then turned toward one of the supervisors.

“And I want a report on that before they arrive.”

He stepped forward slightly, and finally, his eyes settled on the group of housekeepers responsible for room service.

Fayrouz stopped fidgeting with her fingers and raised her head toward him.

Hatem said,

“As for room service, you are the most important department when it comes to the suite.”

The women exchanged glances.

He continued,

“The suite where Mr. Al-Morshedy will be staying must be completely ready before he arrives. I want the rooms cleaned from beginning to end, not merely given a quick tidying.”

Then he began listing the instructions one after another.

“Change all the bed linens completely. Check the pillows and covers. Polish every surface and piece of glass, and clean the bathrooms thoroughly. The towels must be fresh and neatly arranged, and all personal-care amenities must be complete.”

He added,

“Check the wardrobes and drawers, and make sure none of the cleaning supplies are left inside the room. Inspect the floors, curtains, windows, and every corner of the suite.”

Fayrouz listened carefully, committing every instruction to memory.

She knew very well that her job left no room for negligence.

Cleaning a room, as far as she was concerned, was never as simple as running a cloth over the surfaces and making the bed. There were countless details that had to be taken into consideration, especially when it came to a private suite.

Hatem continued,

“Once you’re finished, the supervisor will conduct the first inspection. Then you and Nouran will go back and inspect it yourselves.”

He raised his hand, pointing toward the two of them.

“I want both of you to make sure everything is in order before handing over the suite. If you find anything missing, it must be dealt with immediately.”

Fayrouz nodded.

“Understood.”

Hatem looked at her for a moment before saying,

“And I don’t want anyone approaching the suite after you’ve finished unless they have clear authorization. Once the guest arrives, your assignment there is over.”

“Understood.”

Hatem returned to his place and took a deep breath before saying,

“You have only two hours. I don’t want excuses, and I don’t want to hear the words, ‘We didn’t notice.’”

The meeting ended shortly afterward, and everyone hurried away toward their respective departments.

Fayrouz left with Nouran and headed toward the supply room designated for room service.

The corridors had already begun to change.

Maintenance workers moved between the floors, receptionists kept checking their phones, restaurant employees carried various pieces of equipment from one place to another, while the housekeepers hurried between the rooms with their carts.

Nouran spoke as she walked beside her.

“Looks like the entire hotel is going to be turned upside down because of this man.”

Fayrouz smiled as she picked up a stack of clean towels and placed them inside the cart.

“Maybe he’s important to them.”

“And you don’t care to find out who he is?”

Fayrouz lifted her eyes toward her.

“Why would I need to know anything about a man whose room I’m going to clean, only to never see him again?”

Nouran laughed.

“Who knows? Maybe you will see him.”

Fayrouz shook her head and returned to her work.

“I don’t think so.”

She had no idea that the man whose name she had never even heard before...

would not be merely a passing guest who entered the hotel and then left.

And that, long afterward, she would remember this particular day...

Fayrouz hurried up the stairs, her heart still pounding violently inside her chest.Yet she could not tell whether the reason was what she had been subjected to only minutes ago...Or the fact that Jasser had remained beside her throughout the entire journey home.Perhaps it was both. Her breathing was still uneven when she finally reached the door of her apartment. She hurriedly reached into her bag and pulled out her keys, but her fingers were trembling so badly that she struggled to fit the key into the lock.Once.It slipped.Twice.She missed the keyhole again.“Come on...”She muttered under her breath, frustration mixing with exhaustion. On the third attempt, the key finally turned. She pushed the door open, stepped inside, and quickly closed it behind her. Then she leaned her back against it and shut her eyes.Silence.For several seconds, she simply stood there. She could hear nothing except her own breathing and the faint pounding of her heart.Slowly, she raised a hand to h

.Her eyes widened in terror, a fear so intense that it paralyzed her thoughts for a few moments.“Please... let me go.”“And do you think I’m crazy enough to do that, you whore? Shut up.”His gaze was filled with vile, predatory desire, and his expression made her stomach churn with disgust. His grip tightened whenever she tried to pull away. She struggled desperately, trying to free herself, but he stopped her, slowly dragging the edge of the blade along her neck before lowering it toward the exposed part of her chest. He leaned closer, his face drawing nearer as though he intended to kiss her.Fayrouz squeezed her eyes shut in disgust and helplessness.Every muscle in her body had gone rigid. She could barely breathe. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then another second passed.Still nothing. She cautiously opened her eyes. The man was no longer standing in front of her.Instead, he was lying on the ground like a piece of filthy garbage, while another tall figure stood between

Fayrouz stopped in her tracks. She stared at Nouran in complete confusion."What do you mean?"Nouran stepped slightly away from the doorway, but she still didn't let Fayrouz pass. Her expression had changed. There was something strange in her eyes, something that made the uneasiness Fayrouz had been trying to suppress return all over again."I mean exactly what I said."She paused before adding,"There isn't a place for you here anymore."Fayrouz's fingers tightened around the strap of her bag."Did... Mr. Hatem fire me?"Nouran sighed. She looked at her for a long moment before finally shaking her head."Not exactly."Fayrouz frowned."Then what happened? You told me yesterday that Mr. Hatem wanted to see me. He let me leave, and I came back today expecting to continue working normally.""I know.""Then why are you telling me that I don't have a place here anymore?"A small smile appeared on Nouran's face. Then she stepped completely away from the doorway."Because Mr. Hatem ordered

Jasser gently pushed her away from him, almost as though he had suddenly realized what was happening. He took a step backward.Fayrouz remained exactly where she was for several seconds, completely unable to comprehend what had just happened. Her breathing was uneven. Her eyes remained fixed on him in utter disbelief. She could still feel the lingering shock of the kiss, as though her mind had yet to catch up with reality.Jasser was looking at her in silence.Neither of them spoke. For the first time since he had entered the suite, he allowed himself to truly look at her. From the very first moment he had seen her the previous day, there had been small details about her that had caught his attention despite himself. Her long auburn hair. Her calm features. The way she looked at people. And, perhaps most noticeably, the complete absence of that familiar expression he had grown accustomed to seeing whenever someone recognized him.She had not looked at him with admiration. She had not

Fayrouz quickly prepared herself to receive the news of her dismissal from the hotel. The moment her colleague had told her that Mr. Hatem wanted to see her immediately, her heart had dropped straight into her stomach. There was no doubt about it.Jasser Al-Morshedy had complained about her. From the very moment she had collided with him in the corridor, Fayrouz had known exactly who he was. She had heard his name mentioned repeatedly the previous day, and she had seen his arrival become the subject of conversation among nearly every employee in the hotel. She had also seen the preparations. The special arrangements. The additional staff. The instructions that had been repeated more than once.Jasser Al-Morshedy was not an ordinary guest. He was the guest the entire hotel had been preparing to receive. And now...She was on her way to the manager's office.Every step she took down the corridor felt heavier than the one before it.What if he had complained about the way she had spoken

The moment Nouran disappeared from her sight, Fayrouz remained standing in the middle of the corridor for a few moments, trying to gather her thoughts.Where could a little girl possibly go inside a hotel this enormous? She looked to the right and then to the left before beginning her search on the second floor. She glanced into the rooms whose doors were open, checked the nearby corridors and corners, then headed toward the small break room where the female employees usually gathered.Nothing.She called out softly,“Layla?”No one answered.Fayrouz furrowed her brows and continued walking, trying to think of the places a child her age might be drawn to.Maybe she had gone to the garden.Or the restaurant.Or...She stopped abruptly. The elevator. She hurried toward it and, as soon as she reached it, pressed the button. Then she waited for it to arrive, watching the floor numbers slowly change above the doors. She was thinking about everything except the fact that the hotel where she
