Tatiana sat quietly with her fingers brushing against the edge of the dressing table. She was still thinking of Uncle Noah’s words.

"Should I tell him?" Her chest felt heavy. "What if he reacts in the way he did last night?"

She was struggling with how Xander was going to take it when he hears of such a secret.

Her eyes shifted to him on the couch. For a moment, she almost spoke, but when she caught Xander's gaze, the words died on her tongue and she turned quickly back to the mirror.

""You want to say something?" His deep voice rang smooth, yet it startled Tatiana.

He lifted his chin and saw her fumbling. He had sat like he was not watching but her every glance or sigh was noticed by him.

"It's... it's about last night," she stuttered.

Tatiana noticed a change in Xander's eyes. His temple arched a little. His demeanor had shifted. He seemed uncomfortable with the topic.

She saw it even without looking fully at him. His eyes bore into her and she knew she couldn’t brin

“Master Karl, Master David—this way, please.” Brenda opened the door as usual without being asked to enter. Karl followed her suit while David trailed behind. Karl strode in first, his energy like an uninvited storm. Without hesitation, he crossed the room, arms outstretched. “Brother!” he shouted, throwing himself against Xander in an exuberant embrace. Xander didn’t move. His body was stiff beneath the weight, his eyes narrowing in mild annoyance. He didn’t return the hug—he never does. Karl always noticed, but pretended not to, grinning as though nothing was amiss. As if he didn't notice Tatiana, he didn't bother to look at her direction. David shook his head at his cousin. He brought h there because he had insisted they came to see Tatiana but he realised too late it was just an excuse. He wanted to see his big brother. “Miss Tatiana,” David said gently,“how are you feeling?" A smile that warms the soul perched on his lips. "We heard you were not feeling well, so we

The bathroom door opened. Xander slid the phone back onto the nightstand immediately. He rose, shoving his hands into his pockets, his face blank as if nothing had happened. Tatiana entered the room, her hair damp, a clean dress draped around her figure. She walked to the bed quietly, and the first thing she picked up was her phone. It was off. Her brows furrowed in confusion. "Strange…" she murmured, pressing the button. "How did this go off suddenly?" "Why bother with a phone, if you can’t even remember to charge it?" Xander's voice was calm. Tatiana glanced at him, startled by his sudden words. His face betrayed nothing; his posture was relaxed but commanding. He must be right, she thought, until she plugged the charger into the phone. Her eyes instantly widened with both shock and confusion. "64 percent battery." She whispered, her finger lingering around the power button. "How, did it…?" Before Tatiana could turn it on, Xander’s voice cut through the silence

Xander advanced, carefully placing the tray beside the bed. Without a word, he lifted the bowl, scooped a spoonful of porridge, and turned toward her. Tatiana’s eyes widened in surprise as she saw the spoon near her mouth and the hand offering it. She couldn’t bring herself to meet Xander’s gaze; the embarrassment still clung tightly to her. “Eat,” he commanded firmly, leaving no room for refusal. She blinked quickly, caught off guard. Was he going to fed her? “I don’t want to owe anyone,” he said abruptly, cutting off any protest. His voice was steady and cold before his tone softened slightly, “For last night... Eat.” Tatiana’s chest tightened. Last night. She wanted to ask but words tangled in her throat as she swallowed the spoonful he gave her. He lifted the spoon again, offering it to her without relent. “I… I can eat,” she stammered. Her hand shook as it raised halfway toward the spoon, but his calm, piercing gaze stopped her. After a moment’s hesitation, sh

As soon as the door clicked shut behind Xander, Tatiana let out a weary sigh. He had left with his usual quiet command, the sound of his footsteps fading down the hall. With great effort, she rose from the bed, her body still weakened by the fever, and made her way over to the wardrobe. She had wanted to change the moment she awoke but Xander’s presence in the room made it impossible for her neither could she dare to ask him to leave. Her fingers trailed over the fabrics before pulling out a lighter top. The damp cling of the clothes made her uncomfortable. She slipped her arms out of the heavier layer, and the cool air brushed over her flushed skin. Her pale shoulders, delicate yet strong, gleamed faintly under the sun rays hitting the room. For a brief moment, she stood there, bare from the waist up except for a lace bra that lightly embraced her breasts. She run her hand over the thin material of the top she intended to change into, tossed it onto the bed and be

Tatiana finally stirred. As her lashes parted, the first thing she saw was the ceiling above her, pale and still, before the sensation of cool dampness touched her forehead. A towel. Her eyes fluttered fully open, adjusting to the brightness. Slowly, the blur of a white coat sharpened—the doctor stood beside her bed, scribbling something on a notepad. And there he was. Xander. Standing near the window, arms folded across his chest, his broad shoulders drawn tight, his gaze locked on her. His face was as cold and unreadable as ever, but his eyes… Tatiana blinked. Was that worry? “Mr. Michelle, your wife needs rest. These are the prescriptions. The fever should come down within two days if she takes them,” the doctor said. Tatiana frowned faintly, uncertain, but her thoughts scattered when Xander stepped forward. He accepted the slip wordlessly, giving only the slightest nod. Then he walked the doctor to the door. Just as he was about to close it, it burst open—Brenda pu

Xander returned in the evening with the same impenetrable frost clinging to him like a second skin. “Welcome home, sir” the head-servant whispered gently, but Xander gave no sign of acknowledgment. His gaze swept over her once—quick and unreadable—and then shifted away as if she was nothing more than part of the furniture. "Sir, would you like me to set you and ma'am dinner?" she offered but was met with a swift reply. “Don’t bother!” he snapped without hesitation with brisk and controlled movement, as though he carried an invisible weight that pressed his shoulders into rigidity. Xander spoke with a harsh edge as he made his way swiftly toward the staircase, then the servant’s words finally registering. “Tatiana hasn’t eaten?” His brow knit into a frown, the coldness in his voice unmistakable. “Is this some sort of hunger strike?” “No, sir. Ma’am Tatiana hasn’t come down since this afternoon,” she replied quietly. Xander’s expression darkened further. “Bring food u
