Chapter 16

After the tour, I retreated to our room to get some rest and I eventually fell asleep. Not long after, I was awakened by the burns on my body. My hand scratched all around and when I finally opened my eyes I nearly screamed.

My body was covered in sores. I'm allergic to groundnut and I was sure I hadn't taken anything with groundnut in it but the images of the little bite of cookies I had this morning as dessert flashed to my brain. I'm new here and the servants are yet to learn about my allergies.

This is something my mother should have taken care of.

I couldn't go down with my body like this. I knew better than wearing clothes that covered my body as it would worsen the case.

What should I do?

I pace the room impatient with my hand dipped inside my mouth as I bite on my nails.

What if Sebastian comes and finds me like this?

There was a soft knock on the door and my head shot in the direction.

"Who's there?" I asked even though I'm aware of how little my options are.
