“How could you do that to him?” I asked Nicholas as soon as he left that room after poisoning him. The guards took him away and I couldn’t do anything to help him.
“It has to be done, Evanora! He doesn’t understand what really needs to happen. We need the power, and an alliance with Cassius is the best way to go. Even if I have to offer my daughter as his bride!” He replied with so much anger and hate in his voice.
“You are so evil. When did you turn this way? And how come you didn’t tell me you offered her to him? I thought we were protecting her from him!” I sobbed, but he didn’t seem unfazed by it.
