what it feels like to die over and over again

Haven's POV

I knew better than anyone that it would be better to fall off a cliff than get caught by the two wolves that were chasing after me. But even with how scared I was, I already knew how it was going to end.

My dad and Raven, my twin always enjoyed using me as a hunt tool. Since I couldn't shift, and they knew I was gifted the power of immortality, they'd chase me every full moon and tear me apart knowing I wouldn't die.

Every full moon, I go through the same kind of torture but my everyday life wasn't any better.

As I ran through the woods, breathing ever so loudly, I hoped with all of me that they would not get me but as usual, it was all in vain.

I was still running when Raven jumped at me from behind, falling me to the ground.

Soon, I saw my dad come up to me and as I closed me eyes for the inevitable pain, I heard Raven speak.

“Slitting your throat would be too easy tonight”.

I opened my eyes and noticed she and my dad had shifted back to their human form.

My heart was beating so fast as her statement gave me no room for comfort.

She bent over and looked at me.

“You're going to need a bit of beating”.

She said and looked at my dad whose face was as cold as ice.

My life has always followed a Cinderella pattern. The only difference was I didn't need a step family and there was definitely no prince coming to save me.

Raven held me by my hair and dragged me back to the house. I pleaded in pain but as usual, what could a weak werewolf like me do?

As soon as we got home, she flung me so hard I hit my back on the wall and fell to the ground, coughing out blood.

I could see my father's foot coming towards me and I retreated in fear but the wall was too close behind me, giving me little to no place to run away to.

He bent over and held my cheek so harshly.

“Raven told me you're cheap ass is trying to steal her boyfriend”.

He said and I looked at Raven who was picking her fingers, looking completely unbothered.

“I…”

I knew he wouldn't believe anything I say and even if he did, I'd just go through worse from Raven.

Before I could say a word, he slapped me so hard I could almost feel my neck snap as I fell to the ground.

“You little slut”.

He said ever so calmly but the hatred and disgust was very evident in his voice.

I didn't stay down for long as I knew that would only piss him off even more.

Kneeling back down, I heard Raven scoff.

“What's the point of being immortal? Your so weak, even the fairies mock you”.

She said and I swallowed, clenching my fist and praying to whoever would listen. I just wanted to go into my room and sleep.

Of course, my prayers didn't get me anywhere as dad took an iron rod and began hitting me so hard.

“You're… nothing… but… a… disgrace”.

He said as he hit me.

When he had had his fill, I could barely even move but I could see his face and I knew that look way too well. He could see her face through me.

My dad wasn't always like this towards me. When I was still very little, I could remember he truly loved me but all of that changed when Mom ran away with a rogue.

I'm sure your wondering what that has to do with me. Well, I just happened to be the exact replica of his beloved who left him for someone else.

After mom left, dad changed. His hatred towards me was beyond anything I could imagine and when the hitting started, it never stopped. Instead, it only got worse and as for Raven, she was just born evil. She has always hated me and when she got the opportunity to hit and kill me whenever she wants, she took it wholeheartedly.

Dad flung the rod on the floor and walked away.

I remained on the floor, my body aching and bruised as tear fell from my eyes no matter how hard I tried to hold it back.

Raven, walked towards me and bent as she used her hand to pack a handful of my hair. I moaned in pain and she laughed so sinisterly before banging my head on the floor, causing it to bleed.

She placed her hand by her nose and moved her head back in disgust as though she perceived something terrible.

Standing up, she cleaned her hands with a wipe and looked down at me.

“You smell like shit”.

She said but I was too weak to say a single word.

Raven was the apple of dads eyes. He adored her because she was a lot like him.

Even though dad was an elder in our pack, Raven was a lot more violent and dangerous than he was. She is blessed with the level three power, making her one of the strongest werewolves in the pack even though we were just nineteen.

And as for me, I can feel my wolf but I still have not been able to shift yet, so… I have no level, making me almost useless.

Amongst werewolves, there were four most powerful ones. Level three, these were majorly the warriors and assistants with connection to the white moon.

And there is level two, those were the beta, gammas, and those closest to the alphas, such as the elders. They are connected to the blue moon.

The level one are the alphas, powerful, strong and feared. They ruled the packs and were handpicked by the moon goddess herself for generations. They are connected to the Red moon.

Amongst all the powerful levels are the untouchable lycans. They have a pack of their own but they have a lycan king who is literally the supreme alpha, the ruler of all the packs and the most feared wolf. The lycans are connected to all the moons, making them the strongest as they draw the most energy from whatever source.

I was still on the floor when I heard my dad's hurried footsteps approaching. I mentally prepared my mind for another round but he picked me up by the collar and quickly flung me in the basement which was also my bedroom.

I wasn't sure what was going on but by the way he acted, I was sure something was about to happen.
