Chapter Five

A few hours later, both were exhausted and they had gone a little far with the work.

"This is the hardest job I have ever done in my life". Mia said tiredly.

" Yeah, and it's all my fault,". Maya said.

"No, you don't have to blame yourself at all, it's our fault". she said." Damn, am hungry ".

" Me too".Maya said as her stomach growled.

"Let's go to the canteen and get some food," Mia said, they turned to leave, and the manager walked up to them quickly.

"Where are you two going when you haven't finished your work?" he asked.

"We are going to the canteen to get some food". Mia said.

" No, you are not allowed to eat anything until you finish your work". he said.

"What?" Mia said.

"Seriously!". Maya said.

" You can't do that, we have been working for hours, and is past our lunch break".Mia said.

"I know, you should have thought of that before getting --" they interrupted him.

"We already know that!" they said cutting him short angrily.

"Good, now go back to work". he walks away.

" This is not fair!"Mia yell.

"Gosh! I hate that b!stard, he didn't only make us work now he is starving us". Maya grunts angrily as they return back to their work.

Another hour passed, and Jayden arrived at the club and went to his VIP lounge along with his bodyguards and the manager. he sat down as one of the staff walked in holding a tray of a bottle of wine and a glass cup and she placed it on the shelf beside him and left.

" Sir, everything is being done as you instructed". the manager said.

"Good, you can go, I will call for you later". he said as he dished himself some wine.

" Thank you, sir". he smiles and walks away. Jayden stood up to the window and saw them in the garden half done with the work and they were packing the dirt away. he smirks and takes another sip from his drink.

Maya continued to assemble dirt, she sighed tiredly and looked up then her eyes caught sight of a familiar figure at the window staring at them, she frowned at him and then gave him the middle finger, Jayden was surprised by her actions and then Mia notice her mood, she saw she was staring at the window, she traces her eyes and saw who she was staring at.

"Maya, stop, don't look at him like that," Mia said standing at her front.

"Why shouldn't I? he is the reason we are here in the first place". Maya said.

" Yes, we know, but he is the boss, we can't argue with him".Mia said and Maya grunted angrily.

A few minutes later, they were done with everything and they lay down on the carpet grass looking exhausted.

"Finally, it's done". Maya said.

" I am so hungry," Mia said, then they noticed someone behind them.

"What are you two doing?" the manager asked and they stood up quickly dusting their body.

"We are done with the job sir, so, can we go now and have our food?". Mia asked.

" Um, not yet". he said

"Huh!" they chorus surprisedly.

"Um, yes, follow me". he walks away, and they hesitate for a while before following him behind, soon they arrive at the kitchen, and the whole place is messy and full of used utensils." so, get to work". he order.

"What? Another work? I thought you said that was the only work for us". Mia said.

" No, I never thought, you thought, now make this place sparkling like you did in the garden". he said smiling.

"Really? This can't be, we barely had enough rest for the first work, and now this". Maya said tiredly.

" Yes, now get to work". he walks away.

"Ah!, am tired". Mia grunt.

" Maybe I need to talk some sense into that--"she got interrupted.

"No Maya, you can't, it will only double our punishment if you go to him". Mia said trying to calm her down" Okay?".

"Fine". she said.

" Good, now let's get to work". they started working.

Theo and Ryan arrived at the clubhouse.

"You know starving them of food is not right". Ryan said.

" They deserve it, for insulting me".Jayden said.

"You can't blame them, they were only fighting for their right, and all these happen because of second bro". Ryan said.

" Really? Why am I being blamed?"Theo asked.

"You course it, if you haven't drug first bro, all this wouldn't have happened". Ryan said and he got a hard look from Theo.

" Yeah, whatever". he scoffs.

An hour later, Mia and Maya, were half done with the cleaning.

"The people in charge in this kitchen are so selfish that they can not even leave some food behind". Mia said.

" Maybe they did, the so-called boss asks them to throw it all off".Maya said.

"I don't think I can work further, I might die of starvation". Mia said and they got interrupted at the doorstep.

" No, you won't". Ryan said as he moved a little closer to them with his hands at his back, he was smiling faintly at them and there surprisedly at him.

"What are you doing here? are you here to rub us off our work?" Mia said sassily Ryan chuckled and Mia suddenly got enchanted by his look, she couldn't help but drool over him, and she suddenly regained herself.

"Relax, am not the bad guy". he said.

" Then why are you here?"Maya asked boldly.

"I brought you guys some food". he points two brown paper lunch bags at them as they quickly drag them from him, they bring out sandwiches and a can of juice from it and start devouring them without a second thought, Ryan smiled at them." easy, don't get choked". he warned and they turn to him.

"Why did you bring us this food? did your brother send you?" Mia asked with her mouthful.

"No, I did, I heard what my big brother did, that's why I brought this food for you two because I know you might be very hungry". he said.

" Yeah, thanks". Maya said and they heard the manager's footsteps, they hid the food behind their backs and stopped their mouths from moving. The manager entered and was surprised to see Ryan.

"Mr. Williams, what are you doing here?". he asked smiling at him.

" Um -- he got interrupted

"Are these two giving you a problem?". he asked staring hard at them.

" No, not all, I was just passing by and I was amazed at what they were doing here". he said smiling.

"Ok, if that is the case". he turns to them." don't just stand there, hurry up with the work". he said and they nodded.

"Good". he walks away and they breathe out in relief

" You two should go and enjoy your meal". he left smiling.

"He seems different from his brothers". Mia said.

" Yeah". Maya replied and they continued with their meal.

Later in the day, the clubhouse was rainy busy with the waitress serving everyone, Jayden was in the VIP room drinking with her brothers and at the same time staring at Maya who was serving the customers, he could see how tired she looked.

"What are you looking at?" Theo asked as he noticed him staring.

"Nothing". he takes a sip from his drink as his gaze is still on Maya.

" it seems you can't get your eyes off the waitress". Ryan teased and they got interrupted by a young lady yelling at Maya over spilling drinks on her.

"Am sorry, I didn't mean to". Maya said sincerely

" you didn't mean to? look at my dress, How dare you!" she yelled and raised her hand to slap but someone held her hand quickly, Maya's eyes were still closed due to the expectations of the slap, but there was no hit on her face, she opens her eyes to see a familiar figure in front of her holding the lady's hand and she could see the fear on the lady's eyes and the people around."Um," she sputtered.

"Is there a problem here?". He asked as he released her hand.

" Er, am sorry, I-I "She sputtered in fear.

" If there is no problem then, go back to having fun". he said and grabbed Maya's hand and walked away, everyone in the club stared after them surprisedly including his brothers, and Maya was caught off guard by him as they arrived at the garden and he released her hand.

"What the hell are you doing dragging me up here?". she asked frowning at him and Jayden scoffed.

" You are so ungrateful, I just saved your life in there".

"I didn't ask for your help! The fact that you are the owner of this place doesn't give you the right to touch me how you want". she yelled and he grabbed her by her waist and pulled her into his arms staring angrily at her.

" Don't you dare raise your voice at me ever again or you will regret it". he warned and Maya struggled to pull away from him.

"let go of me ". she yelled.

" I won't, you are under my authority now and I will do as I please with you".

"You are no boss of me and I am not under your authority, so let me go". she yelled, and Jayden pulled her more closer as their face were inches apart, she gulped nervously. They stood in that position for a while until Jayden pulled away from her and walked away. Maya let out a gasp and was trying to calm her nerves down.
