SHERYLN

I dropped the iPad and stood up. I walked around the room, deliberating about what had to be done but no solution came up. This was a big problem. My plan had backfired. You know Cinderella's fairytale? I couldn't allow the same thing to happen here. I had to stop May's marriage with Nicholas but how do I do this?

“Mother!” Emma ran inside my room. She looked alarmed. “Did you hear? May is getting married to…”

“I know,” I sighed. “Apparently, this man is more powerful than Conan whom we tried to separate her from. He is a fucking billionaire! A famous one too.”

“She is pregnant with his child. This can't happen, Mother. You have to stop their union by every means. It will be the end for us if she gets married to him and bears his child. Do something, please!”

“Calm down…” I muttered.

“I can't! I have a headache and it feels like my head is going to explode!” Emma shouted.

“Stop it!” I exclaimed angrily. I took a deep breath and continued. “This happened because of you anyway. You should have made sure the insemination was done properly.”

“The hospital is at fault! They switched things up. It was accidental but see what their foolish mistake caused,” Emma said. She was about to sulk, I knew her very well.

“Let's find a solution. That's all we can do for now,” I told her. I sat and Emma sat on the sofa opposite mine. We stared at each other as if the solution will be written on our faces. This continued for a few minutes and Emma broke the silence.

“Nicholas is only marrying her because of the baby…” Emma paused as if for dramatic effect. “What would happen if she loses the baby?”

“He would probably forsake her,” I answered. “But how do we do that?”

“Spiking her drink with an abortion pill would be the safest method. All we have to do is find a maid from Nicholas's house, bribe the maid, and the deed would be done. Who knows? We might end up getting rid of May in the process,” Emma said with an evil smirk on her face. I nodded in agreement. Truly, Emma was my offspring.

“It's a solid plan. How do we find a maid to bribe?” I asked.

“Don't worry, mother. I'll take care of it!” Emma said confidently. Now that we had found a solution, I could breathe well.

“Marcus,” I called his name, trying to get his attention. He lay still with his eyelids not even blinking. Dr. Charles entered the room, holding his chart.

“It appears your husband is almost brain dead, Sherlyn,” Charles told me with a smile on his face. I smiled back but stopped when I caught Marcus's face again.

“I used to love him,” I muttered. “I was his daughter's nanny from when she was a baby until she was ten. I watched him for ten years. I wanted him for ten years. I seduced him for ten years. A rare man, he is.”

“But he finally succumbed to your pressure, didn't he? Men are all the same. Forget the time frame, they can't resist a beautiful woman…” Charles told me and winked at me. I smiled. Charles was a handsome, young man. I had seen him naked and clothed but he looked the best in his white lab coat.

“I was very beautiful then. I wonder how he could resist me for ten years anyway,” I wondered.

“You are still beautiful…” Charles could see through me. He knew I needed validation at that moment.

“No,” I replied. “I am aged now. My frail body is nothing compared to my youth. Men ain't attracted to an old woman with wrinkles and…”

Charles grabbed my waist and shut my mouth with his lips over mine. He kissed me hungrily and I ended up against the wall. I wrapped my hands around his neck, kissing him back. I wanted him more than he wanted me. I could feel his hands down my thighs. He had raised my gown and his fingers were exploring down there.

I shivered.

“You are attractive. You still drive men crazy…” Charles looked into my eyes. “I am proof of that. You drive me… crazy.”

I held on, gazing at me. He held my hand and made me touch his crotch. “See. Feel it. See how hard you make me.”

It was at this point I realized that I was madly in love with him as well. I was so lovestruck that I could only look at him and yearn for him.

“I want you,” He whispered in my ears, sending chills down my spine.

“Here? Now?” I finally asked. My eyes fell on my husband, Marcus, lying on the bed.

“I told you he is almost brain dead,” Charles told me. “Don't you have a fantasy like that? He knows nothing right now. Will you reject me?”

Hell No! I shouted that in my mind. Charles didn't need permission before he made me face the wall, raising my gown. He smacked my butt and tore off my panties. I was forty-five and the mere thought of being treated like this by twenty seven year old Charles was enough to drive me crazy.

“Ugh!” I moaned as I felt him inside me. My eyes fell on Marcus again. His eyes were wide open but he could do nothing even though his wife was being fucked in the same room he was in.

**

“I found someone to take care of it,” Emma told me after I got back from the hospital. “It will be done tomorrow during breakfast!”

“Good job!” I exclaimed. I jumped on the bed, exhausted.

Emma said nothing which was strange. I turned back only to find her with inquisitive eyes piercing into my soul.

“Are you okay?” I managed to ask. She said nothing still so I stood up out of worry. I tried to touch her but she took a step back.

“You smell of Charles…” Emma muttered.

NICHOLAS As I left the place, I was boiling in anger, not at May but at myself. I just got what I deserved. Why would I hold onto May who was disappointed in me? I should have never followed her in the first place. I must have been crazy. I got to the garage and Kelvin saw me. "Aren't you leaving with Miss May?" Kelvin asked me carefully."Bring her back safely," I replied. "If anything happens to her, I'm holding you responsible. Make sure she comes back to the mansion!" "Yes, boss," Kelvin responded. I got into my own car and drove off. As I drove, I had several thoughts. Several scenarios played in my mind but nothing frightened me more than May following Conan to his place after dinner. That should never happen. We were legally married. But... I was also involved with Vivian and Lydia. What if she wanted payback? The contract didn't state that she couldn't be with other men. If I could have sex with Vivian, she was also entitled to do it with Conan. This was driving me crazy

MAY I had noticed Nicholas's car behind my trail ever since I left the mansion. Kelvin also confirmed it. He had been a driver for years and he could tell when he was being followed. Nicholas's disguise to enter the restaurant was a funny one. I could tell who he was right from his figure. So when Conan began to say much, I stepped in right away. “Don’t badmouth my husband. He is right there,” I pointed to Nicholas. I could see the shock registered on Conan's face as I said this. Nicholas turned and smiled uneasily. I smiled back at him naughtily."Oh, he came with you," Conan managed to say. "Come and join us, honey. Come here," I gestured to Nicholas. He looked so nervous as he came to sit with us. Conan was the same. The waiter came over and served us. "I have heard a lot about you, Mr. Nicholas. I was going to see you in the next few weeks. I never knew I would get the opportunity just like this," Conan said slyly. Nicholas simply kept a smile on his face. "I haven't heard a

NICHOLAS “In a nutshell,” May interrupted. “You pulled strings to get Lydia the appointment.” Wait! Did I do that? When did I do such a thing? What was May saying? “No, that never happened. I never knew her name until today. How could I promote her to the housekeeper? The decision was made by Mama without my involvement,” I answered quickly. However, I could tell that May did not believe me. She must have thought I was only making excuses. Well, I would have thought the same if I were in her shoes. “Anything you say!” May laughed it off. She sat on the bed and began to take off her heels. Afterwards, she laid on the bed, laughing wickedly. I wouldn’t be shocked to hear that she had a murder plan for me.“Hey, you believe me, don’t you?” I asked just to be sure. That was purely unnecessary. “Why would I believe you? Do you think I have a pumpkin instead of a brain?” She asked. I was officially fed up. I had no way to convince her anymore. Just as I decided to continue, I heard her

MAY The drive helped me calm my nerves. I did some thinking on my own and realized that I might have feelings for Nicholas. That was the only reason I would be so annoyed about Lydia. This wasn’t the plan I had when I accepted the contract marriage offer. I had to do something about it before I fell even harder. “Fall for him?” I muttered to myself.“What did you say, Miss?” Abby asked. She thought I was talking to her. “Please focus on the road, Abby,” I replied dryly. Both of us were on our way back to Nicholas’s mansion. My phone rang and I stared in shock at the familiar number. I could feel my heart beating hard as I thought about what I should do. The caller was Conan, my ex-fiance. I rejected the call uneasily. Abby remained focused on the road. I eased into my seat and sighed. I was bothered by the mere idea of Conan calling me. What was he doing that for? Did he want to apologize for cutting off our engagement just like that? Oh no! Conan would never do that. He was now e

NICHOLAS I was unsettled. Ever since May caught me kissing Lydia, I had been worried since then. I couldn't concentrate on anything and I blamed myself. I shouldn't have done that no matter the situation. But I was more worried that May might get the wrong idea. I didn't come back to the room that night so I could give her space, it wasn't that I went back to Lydia. Vivian entered my office, holding some documents. She had a smile on her face. I stared at her as she dropped the documents on my table. "The stock prices are rising, boss. It appears your PR went well," Vivian told me calmly. She showed me her iPad and I could see that it was rising indeed. On a normal day, this would be enough to get me so excited. However, nothing of such was happening today. "Okay, I understand," I simply replied. I could see the shocked expression on Vivian's face after I said this. It was her own turn to stare at me. One would think she was scanning my face. "Boss!" I heard her call me. "I am

MAY I clenched my fists. I thought I could fake a smile but my face didn’t cooperate with my slyness. She was dressed in a different attire, one that I had never seen since I got to the mansion. The maid stepped backwards as she came forward.“My name is Lydia and I am the current housekeeper. For the next two weeks, I will take up the duties of the butler and manage the maids until Mama comes back. Nice to meet you, Miss,” She smiled at me. Just by taking one look at her, I could tell that she was an opportunist. She was smiling so confidently, not minding that she was caught with my husband last night. What an effrontery. “Whose decision is this?” I asked calmly. I was so close to having an outburst. I had to control myself but it was getting harder every moment.“It wasn’t Nicholas, don’t worry,” Lydia replied.“And how dare you call my husband by his name! Are maids supposed to do such discourtesy?” I asked angrily. I was genuinely upset.“You can leave,” Lydia told the maid be
