Chapter 16

Ace’s POV

I staggered and slipped as my father pulled me up the stairs to his room by my hand. Not the one he shares with mother, the one he has to himself; the bed he sleeps in after arguments with mother and a desire to give each other space.

We just stood at the door whenever he asked for something from us; none of us ever went inside.

I have to admit that being dragged felt unusual for my body, and I misjudged his strength.

I now understood how Angel felt whenever I dragged her, given she is physically weaker than I am. And, oh! That's when it dawned on me that I hadn’t informed him that she was in a coma.

He unlocked the door and kicked it open violently. The way he forced me into the dark room made me feel helpless. I didn't feel like Ace Kingston being pushed around like that.

Lights flashed on, blinding me. I looked around, and I quickly saw why he never let any of us go.

I didn't want to be there any longer.

I knew he was sick and cruel, but I never expected him to be
