CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Serena woke up in Adrian's room, but he was nowhere to be found. She sat up in his bed, wondering where he had gone. She looked at the time on the bedside table and saw it was eleven o'clock at night. Serena could hear an owl hooting in the distance. Suddenly, the room transformed into a meadow. When she looked up, it was dark.

Serena was perplexed because she was certain she was still in Adrian's room. Then a bright light appeared, Serena had never seen anything like it before. Then she felt herself falling, the light went out, and the meadow vanished. Everything went dark, and all Serena could do was hold on to her body as she fell. Serena tried calling out to Adrian for help again, but all she got was silence.

Then, in the darkness, another bright light appeared, and within it, a figure appeared, and when the light dimmed, Serena saw a woman emerge from it. Serena closed her eyes and opened them again to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
