CHAPTER 7

EDEN POV

He had asked a simple question but it had been so difficult for me to answer. His lips were so soft against mine, he seemed to be kissing my lips with so much intensity.

I slowly threw my hands over his broad shoulders, it felt like the world had ended at that moment and we were both the only ones pretty left alone.

His hands slowly walked around the back of my head to get me closer enough for him to kiss me harder.

His wet and fruity-scented mouth slipped itself below my bottom lips but I rapidly pushed him away the minute I remembered Hercules.

We both seemed to be breathing heavily for air, I instantly felt like I was suffocating and needed water.

My eyes shut softly, afraid to stare him in the eyes because I knew he was staring at me.

"We shouldn't have done that, I'm the future Luna of this pack and what I have done is wrong!" I finally said even if my wolf was against me pushing Scott away.

"I have known you to be a legend since I was a child, you were known to be a golden child and a great warrior but nothing would come out of any of this!" I said plainly.

As the words left my mouth, I could see the hurt and surprise etched across his face.

The weight of my statement hung heavy in the air between us. There was a time when he was revered, when tales of his bravery and skill were whispered with awe.

But now, standing before me, I saw a person whose spirit had been maimed by the passage of time.

His once vibrant eyes now carried a glimmer of sadness, and lines of experience creased his forehead.

The weight of unfulfilled expectations seemed to settle upon his shoulders, visible in the slump of his posture.

It was a harsh reality to confront, the dissonance between the legend that is being talked about and the reality of his present.

For a moment, silence enveloped us, thick with unspoken emotions. I regretted my words, realizing the impact they had on him.

It was not my intention to wound, but rather to express my disappointment at the discrepancy between his legendary status and his current situation.

At that moment, I saw the complexity of his journey. The golden child and great warrior that he was known as had undoubtedly faced trials and tribulations, as all heroes do.

Perhaps the weight of those experiences had taken a toll on him, slowly chipping away at the shimmering image of his youth.

As empathy welled up within me, I reached out to touch his arm gently, an apology lingering on my lips. It was a reminder that despite the passage of time and the realities of life, he was still deserving of respect and understanding.

"I'm sorry," I whispered softly.

He looked at me, the hurt gradually softening in his eyes, replaced by a glimmer of gratitude.

The weight on his shoulders seemed to lessen, if only slightly, as Scott seemed to recognize the sincerity in my words. We stood there in that moment, two individuals bound by our shared bond and the complexities of our respective paths.

I could hear a snarl from him but no words came out of his mouth. His mouth made another movement but I heard nothing again.

Scott was tall and he towered over me, our short kiss must have roughly left his cloth showing off his sculpted chest and popping muscles. His sharp jawline seemed to be clenching tightly.

His hair which I had ruffled fell at one side of his eyes nicely.

"I have known you to be a legend since I was a child, you were known to be a golden child and a great warrior but nothing would come out of any of this!" I said plainly while the hurt in his face became very visible yet again.

"What do you want, I would do anything you want." I heard him say.

"I don't want anything from you, just stay away from me because you won't get anything from me!" I said before turning to leave but strong arms held me back before I could.

I stumbled into his hard chest, his lips slowly crushed themselves on mine but I was quick to push him away leaving a slap on his cheeks.

"I want you to reject me right now," I plainly told him.

"I won't reject you," I heard him say back rapidly.

"Fine but I think you should leave already and stop forcing yourself on somebody who doesn't return the same energy. Leave early tomorrow or I will tell Hercules everything!" I threatened before walking away.

My eyes stared blankly ahead as I walked back home. My thoughts kept running through what had just transpired, I felt tired and numb because my wolf wouldn't stop whining and howling about Scott but there was nothing I could do.

I slowly halted when I began to hear some approaching footsteps behind me.

As the footsteps grew closer, my heart rate quickened, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. I turned around cautiously, my eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of who might be approaching.

I decided to be calm about it, it might be Scott still trying to bug me.

"I think you should honestly stop following me, this could turn into a fistfight that might render you dead. You are provoking me already," I shrugged, frustrated by all Scott's games.

"I don't think you can match up to me!" The voice said as I felt a bang on my head. I instantly fell hitting my back on a lot of branches until I hit my head on a stone.

I tried to stand up but the blinding pain that shot through my head and body wouldn't let me, my hands slowly touched the side of my head.

I slowly stared at my hand to notice red-looking stains, they were blood.

Soon, the surroundings began to fade and darkness consumed me right after.

I slowly tilted my neck which was sore. I could feel the soreness of my inner, it was a pain that made my whole body feel weak.

I was so uncomfortable and everywhere seemed dark, there seemed to be some murmuring talks around me. I could hear the hissing voice of someone loudly while they cuss bad words mixed with a growl.

Soon, I could see the light from the sun shun through my eyes causing me a huge headache. There must have been a blindfold that made me think it was dark.

I took in my surroundings to notice that I was tied to an old-looking bed half naked. What was happening? Had I been captured by rogues?

I tried to speak but winced in pain because the side of my cheeks seem swollen and it felt very sore.

Another thudding headache surged in, my eyes shot themselves from pain. The back of my skull throbbed like hot boiling tea.

I tried to move my hands but the pain made me scream in agony, I couldn't help but to ponder on how long I had been like this. My tummy grumbles in hunger,

I tried to wrench out my hands free but I felt a narrow strip dig into my wounded hands. I cried in so much pain while I battled with the straps from my forearm, they sewed in deeper and drew in more blood.

I snapped my head back feeling dizzy all of a sudden. I wonder where I was and who was treating me this way, I could notice a squeak from a rusty hinge.

It seemed like someone was going in and out. It felt like they were trying to leave me here to die of hunger and thirst but I was wrong when a figure stood before me in all-black clothing and a mask to cover the face.

I watched as the man slowly sat at the edge of the bed before pulling a pack of cigarettes, he pushed the content to my face.

Was he trying to offer me some lung-damaging product?

I watched as he placed a stick of cigarette in between his lips before lighting it to life. He dragged the cigarette before puffing the smoke on my face causing me to cough very badly.

"Listen, Eden, you have to comply with me or we might end up having a problem. You seemed to have pissed the wrong set of people and that's why you have ended yourself in this situation." The deep voice lamented.

"You watch the movies, Eden, in every kidnapping flick. The guys always say that you have gotten the wrong person, please don't tell me I have the wrong person." He said and I would be laughing if this wasn't a serious situation that might render me dead.

"You might not have the wrong person but I have done nothing!" I said in a weak tone.

"You might think you have done nothing wrong but you have, sweetheart." He uttered with a laugh that only made me sick in the stomach.

"Listen, I'm just a regular person who has crossed paths with you several times." He said as I watched him pull a black bag.

"What are you doing?" I asked in fear and horror but he didn't respond.

"Hey, I'm talking to you asshole!" I yelled out.

"Do you see this bag? It is a bag full of many tricks. Well, technically it's my dad's and I'm only borrowing it from time to time." He responded while my gaze lingered from his amused face to the bag.

"What the hell are you going to do?" I asked in a perplexed expression.

"I'm setting the timer for seven minutes Eden, every minute of delay when I ask you a question, I get to wipe you with this iron rope until you are down and useless."

"What happens when the timer runs out?" I asked with quivering lips.

"When the timer hits zero, your skull explodes with this!" He said with a smirk but my eyes only seemed to widen as he set the timer.
