***KAYLA***

"What's wrong, you know her?" I heard Caleb ask me, but I couldn't reply, the words were stuck in my throat, I felt pain and I still felt pity towards her, why was she getting married and more importantly, why was she getting married to him, why was she being forced against her will, I thought within me.

"Yes," I answered then swallowed a heavy lump down my throat, "That is my sister, Sheila," I said, my voice breaking as tears began to stream down my face and I ran out of the hall, I could hear Caleb running after me, but I had to get far away, I had left my sister in Ravenclaw, knowing fully well the man that hunted me would make her life a living hell, and now she was getting married to him against her will, and even smiling falsely.

"Kayla! Kayla!!" Caleb called behind me as he ran after me, while I just kept running, looking for fresh air. Then I stopped, and Caleb caught up with me.

"Why did you dash off like that?" He said, catching his breath.

"I…I put her in that condition," I said amidst my tears.

"What condition?" He asked as though he hadn't seen what was going on in there.

"Sheila is marrying Derek, against her will; that's what we just witnessed in there," I said to him, explaining what was already obvious.

"Didn't seem like that to me, but hey, guess I don't know your sister enough to decide that," Caleb said throwing his hands in the air, he was being the jerk I knew him to be since the first day I met him, a reasonable person would have understood there's no reason for Sheila to marry Derek, if not because she was threatened into it.

"So what do you wanna do," Caleb asked, breaking the silence that had begun to last for about a minute.

"Rescue her," I answered.

"Yes, which has been our plan, but I don't think the Luna of Ravenclaw could be saved or taken away without notice, so you need another plan," Caleb pointed out. I hated to admit it, but he was right.

I was silent as I didn't know what to do, and thankfully, Caleb just stood in the silence with me.

"I have an idea," he said.

Well, until he broke the silence, I thought within me as I subtly rolled my eyes.

"Do tell," I answered, not interested.

"Your sister, if truly she is captured against her will and made to marry Derek, don't you think it means it'll be harder to save her once they find out you're here? I mean, once Derek finds out, he'd either capture you one way or another or guide her more," he said, and again, he made sense, damn it!

"True, so what do you suggest," I asked, the tears on my cheeks now drying up as I folded my hands against my breast; I watched his eyes trail to my breast, which was now pushed up a bit, and then he swallowed hard and quickly averted his gaze.

And he is asexual? I thought, trying my best to stifle laughter.

"Well, I think the best decision right now is to make sure Derek doesn't see you or anyone around here," he said in a low tone. Then some people began to pass by, and he quickly pulled me aside so I wouldn't be seen.

"No, no no," I said, immediately those passing had left.

"No what?" He asked in surprise

"No, I'm not going back to Crescent pack without Sheila; you wanna protect me, I know, but I can't go back knowing my sister is married against her will to a bastard," I stood my ground.

Then Caleb began to laugh at me, almost as though he was mocking me and that only made me feel so little, wondering what was wrong, why was he laughing so hard?

"What?" I summoned the courage to ask him, as I shrugged.

"You assume too much," he said, now smiling at me, that smile that makes me want to hug him tight and kiss him.

Come on Kayla, what are you thinking about?

"I mean, I couldn't send you back to Crescent pack on your own, Carla would have my head for that," he said with a smile.

"Then what do you mean I shouldn't be seen by Derek and the rest of the pack?" I asked, now confused.

"Well, I meant this," he said, then put his hands into his pocket and brought out a piece of clothing, one that was gently folded into a square, a handkerchief? I thought.

Only this piece of clothing felt lighter than a handkerchief.

"And that is?" I asked.

"Oh, this? It's a veil," he replied, now loosening it to make it bigger and waving it across my face.

"A veil?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," he said as he nodded.

"And what am I supposed to use this for again?" I asked, confused.

"For your face dummy!" He said, rolling his eyes as though I'd asked a frustrating question.

"And why will I want to cover my face?" I asked him as I narrowed my eyes at him; then he used his left palm to hit his forehead in frustration.

"You wanna get to the end of this issue or not? Do you wanna get caught and locked away immediately if they spot you or not? Do you want to save your only sister, Sheila, or not? Then please be smart enough to know this goes on your face, and it's for you to wear as long as we're here, till we're done with this murder investigation that looms around your existence," he said, then spat out angrily.

"It's not like I'm scared of getting caught," I said in a low tone, then tried to snatch the veil from his hands, but he quickly took it back.

"What did you say?" He asked.

"I said I'm not scared of getting caught," I said again.

"Hey there!" Caleb yelled to the Ravenclaw pack members who were standing far away from where we stood.

"I'm alpha Caleb of Crescent pack, I lost my way. Could you help me?" He yelled.

"Coming, milord," the younger man yelled back and started running towards us.

"Come on Caleb, give me the goddamn veil," I begged.

"I can't hear you, you say what now?" He asked in a playful tone but I didn't have the luxury of time to play with him as the boy was already getting closer to us.

"Please, the veil, Now," I pleaded, then he smiled and just kept looking at me.

Then, just as I turned to bow and cover my face, I saw the veil flying towards me in the air, and immediately, I caught it.

***KAYLA*** I ran as fast as my leg could take me, clutching my belly, just like the first time I was hunted by members of the Ravenclaw pack, only, this time, I was heavily pregnant and could feel my baby with every step I took while I ran. I was getting tired, Caleb was nowhere, everywhere was in smoke and even Carla had been separated from me when it all went into shambles. I stopped for a while to catch my breath and I could hear the steps of the one who had been chasing after me get closer and closer, I knew I had to continue running, save myself and my baby, I had to run, I was thirsty but I had no choice, I started running again, only this time, I wasn’t as fast, my energy was burning out and I was getting slower and slower, then, I felt someone grab me. “Haaaa…” I yelled but was cut short as someone placed their hands on my mouth, burying my cry for help. “Shhhh, it’s me,” Caleb said, his voice soothing and making me calm down, I heaved out in relief and tapped his han

Nate and the blondie turned around and left while Toria followed behind, looking back as she walked away. I turned to look at Philip, we shared a knowing look and he nodded. “Maybe the blondie thinks he’s human?” Philip shrugged speaking my mind. “Maybe,” I shrugged too, and went back to take my seat. “You should inform the rest and gather more information on the blondie, but inform everyone to not relate with Nate, or rather, send a message,” I said, that’s the quickest way to reach all alphas and maids in the castle. “Sure,” Philip said and glanced at his phone that’s just beeped. “Alpha Derek has arrived, and with his Luna,” he announced and my head went blank, what the hell was Sheila doing here when we only invited Derek, I sighed. “Come on, send the message, and let’s go welcome them,” I said to him and he started typing on his phone very fast. “Done!” He announced and we started walking out of the room. We took the elevator down just in time to see Derek standing in fro

***CALEB***“The alphas are already arriving for the competition,” Philip filled me in as we briskly walked around the hallways of the castle. “Well, as expected, is Nate still coming today?” I asked I didn’t really want to face him now, but by the time I’d realized, I knew I couldn’t rescind my order. “I guess so, but he’s not arrived,” Philip answered and I just nodded. “Who is the first alpha I’m seeing?” I asked, Philip turned to the file in his hands and scanned it. “Alpha Sonya, she’s arrived and she’s the only person you’re seeing today,” he said and I nodded. “Lead the way to her room,” I ordered and he started walking in front while I followed closely, in no time, we were standing in front of a room, Philip knocked and we heard a ‘come in’ and so we entered. Alpha Sonya was sitting on the bed with her brother right beside her, the duo must have been discussing something of importance, but they rose to their feet immediately they saw me and bowed. “Your Highness,” they

***MORGAN***“We found a new place, sir!” Vinny said as he entered the room. I stood from my bed where did sat after the call with Nate since I had nothing to do. “Okay, do I need to check it out first?” I asked him, of course, I needed to check it out. “Oh, we paid already,” he scratches his head never pushy as he answers. “What?!” I walked closer to him, maybe I heard him wrong, but why would he pay for a house that was to be mine when I hadn’t even taken a look at it? “We paid for it immediately because the broker explained someone else was ready to make payment and that’s the nicest place on the market,” he said and I just rolled my eyes, he’s been victimized by the realtor who knew exactly what he was doing, I wondered what Vinny did with his life before he came out here. “Anf how many houses did you check out?” I asked. “2,” he said in a tone barely above a whisper, I felt my head rise literally. “You checked out two houses and bought one, outta the two? No other options

***NATE***“Come in Robin,” I yelled as I stood up, walked to the door, and unlocked it, I went back to my chair immediately after it was opened. “One would think you’re hiding away from something if you keep locking yourself in like that sir,” she said as she walked to my desk and dropped a file on it. “Well, they wouldn’t be completely wrong now, would they?” I smirked and she just wore a vague expression. Grrrrg! Grrrrr!! My voice vibrated just as Robin was about to say something, I held a hand up to her and she shut her mouth, it’s Toria, I picked up. “Hey!” I calmly said into the phone. “Guess what?!” She squealed into the phone rather loudly. “What? I really do not have the strength to guess right now, I’ve a lot to do,” I said to her in a tired tone, so as to sound somewhat convincing. “Well, Caleb agreed to you coming to Crescent Pack, you’d be at the contest and also at Carla’s wedding,” she said and my stomach knot in discomfort, for a while there, I’d totally forgott

***NATE***“Thank you!” I said to the guard who opened the car door as we got to the front of the company building. Grrrrrggg! Grrrggg!!! My phone rang, I stared into the name of the caller and it was Morgan, great, he must be back in New Orleans by now, I thought, I picked up the call. “Nate, I’m here,” she shouted into the phone elated, I instinctively pushed the phone somewhat away from my ears. “You’re so loud man,” I said. “Sorry, I’m just so happy,” his voice was now known and better. “It’s fine, so how are you finding the place?” I asked, but then remembered I had to get inside the building instead of picking the call out here and making the guards wait for me. “You know what? Let me call you back once I enter the office?” “Of course, I’d be expecting, bye love,” I heard the beep, indicating he’d cut the call, keeping my phone in my pot, I strode into the building with my head held high, while the guards followed closely. I entered the office, took the private elevator,
