CHAPTER 18

Kael's POV.

There was no cause for alarm and I felt like this stranger in front of me could figure it out. It was just a scare and that was why I maintained that everyone remained in here without having external contact with anyone outside.

It wasn't supposed to be too hard for them to understand that I was trying to keep them protected for the longest but it seemed like she had another idea and I wanted to hear it.

I had not been stimulated in the past few weeks like I was by this stranger and that sent a wrong signal down my spine.

Selene could feel my attention on the stranger and she hated it but sadly there was nothing she could do to stop the growing attraction.

I loved it when women had spines.

"Since you want to go out and fight for yourself why don't you just leave?"

It was also a way to draw her out. She was the same person who tried to sneak into my room earlier saying that she missed her way which was something that I could never believe.

Believing that was equal to waiting for unicorns to appear.

Everyone stared at her, but I would have loved it if they got away from her as fast as they could because she was even more dangerous than they were thinking.

"I'm sorry if I sounded a little bit rude but if there's an attack, why don't we just deal with it and leave everyone with the greater chance to fight for your freedom instead of trying to shield them here which might not be as effective as you want?"

She was making solid points but my eGo was never going to take it so I decided to switch things up. "If you could prove that fighting was the solution, I'd give you the opportunity to go out. If anyone wants to take that route you are also free to go."

Another lady stood. A bright blonde but I could still see the hint of brown at the roots.

She had bleached to become blonde. I would never understand why women's obsession for that hair color grew over the years.

Selene shot me a frantic glance. She was never expecting that I was going to indulge these women but doing anything otherwise was going to prove that I had something to hide and everyone knew that I didn't but it had to be established before it was too late.

I already had an idea of what was possibly going on and the only way to deal with it was to keep pretending.

"Let's see what you've got."

.

I had already given the order that everybody was supposed to shield anyone within but if they felt like they could protect themselves, I was all for that.

It was going to be challenging especially with the fact that the woman who was supposed to keep protecting everyone was also running away and trying to hide from the possible disaster looming in front.

My guards moved forward, but I signaled them not to do anything.

It wasn't going to help matters so there was no need to compound the entire problem thinking that we were trying to solve something.

If they were going to be fighting then they needed to go with guns-a-blazing.

"The rest of you will be put in shelters until we are able to subside the wave, the people who cannot abide by days can also leave before it's too late." I reiterated that it was common knowledge that I was not just mincing words.

I meant everything that came out of my mouth and as long as that was established the rest things they're going to follow in due order.

I had an idea that was going to knock them out of the park instantly, but I also had to discuss it with my entire team or else risk going to be a disaster.

My eyes kept rolling in annoyance as I kept watching and waiting for them to figure out that I had only been wasting time just to kill a few birds.

The perpetrators were still around and if this was going to become a distraction I was going to kill it before it could even breathe a second moment.

That was the only way to deal with cases like this or else you were going to be left with lengthy discussions.

Together they matched outside but my eyes remained fixated on them. It was going to be hard to convince these sets of people that rogues did not play.

They stopped at the outer door,...

The sound of gunshots permeated the air while I still stood. This was going to serve as less sign for them so that when they went about running their mouths they would realize that they must have made a mistake one way or the other and it was not time for them to repair it.

It was not going to make any sense anymore because I had gotten involved, and now I had to strive even harder to keep them alive.

The second lady enjoyed it badly but the one who had been even more challenging still stood with her head held high in the sky like she couldn't care about anything else.

"Let's get out of this place!" She yelled at the second

"Just stop this girl from making a mess." Selene hissed.

Oh no she probably thought that everybody was like how would jump into conclusions at the slightest opportunity without properly thinking about the model consequences we're going to be.

I took a deep breath and also took my time before doing anything that was going to impact me negatively no matter who was involved and that was final.

The rest could come later while I dealt with it. By the time I was done nobody will be able to have any say in this. "Seize both of them. Let's see what they have going on." I announced.

Lyra’s POV. "I have been involved in a few fights in my life and I am not proud of everything that I have done but the only thing you can be rest assured of, is the fact that you would never be disappointed when it comes to me." Lucius told me.My eyes lingered on him, watching the once confident man look like he was trying so hard not to break down in my presence and I kind of understood it but at the same time, realized that he was fighting some battles that would never make any sense to me except he came out clean. "Of course you had to. How is that affecting you now?""Badly, a whole lot of people have different perception about me and as much as I would have loved for me to remain anonymous my past is finally catching up with me and I have to be at the center of it all making sure that everybody has a hand in this no matter what." He wasn't making any sense with his analogy and even though I wanted to believe him to some extent, I kind of felt like there was a little something

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 66

Kael's POV.My wolf led me to the plains, that was the only place that I could be able to get answers for what I was looking for and how long he was going to take for me to fathom a reasonable explanation and why she just disappeared. Selene must have been a bastard for thinking that you'll be able to make me convinced to do whatever she wanted and not what I truly wanted. How on Earth does she even think that it was possible? I had nothing to lose but she had everything and the entire world too. The father was not even as popular as he wanted to preserve his legacy and I was doing this simply because my pack members decided to go on a long journey to make sure that I was not doing anything against what was already in the works. I had nothing to lose nor gain, but now that Selene had spoken about it I was willing to abandon a few things to seek that girl out. She couldn't have been really far away or else I would have found her by now. I also didn't have anything to say apart fro

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 65

Lyra's POV.My first move was to comb the entire area making sure that I was able to drag the few things out."Don't you have a whole lot of things that you have to put into place before we start fighting against somebody that we know is going to prevail one way or the other?" It just didn't make sense to me no matter how much they were trying to go about it and paint it to be the real thing. I had already discovered a better way of handling the situation but none of this was sufficient enough for me. I had more ideas running through my mind and until they were done, I had nothing to fight for.One thing that was certain was the fact that I decided to go on with the entire trip. For Camille to think that everything was fine on my end and I was not under any pressure to give them a correct prediction or else lead them to their doom, she was just the same like everybody else. Most of them had concluded that I was overreacting about certain things that I did which was okay by me and

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 63

Kael's POV. I didn't have much to think of but I knew that something had been going on that I have was not very attentive to and I needed to change that immediately before it was so late for me to do that anymore I wasn't obsessing over Selene but she had made very valid points and I needed to check downtown just to see what was lurking behind this scenes As a spy myself I knew that whenever there was a lot of count it was going to birth something more than a whirlwind. I didn't have much to talk about but I was very sure that there was even something else going on that needed to help in releasing the pains. I had nothing more to look for besides the obvious answers that I had gotten over a long time. I didn't also have what it took to be able to switch things up but I was sure that at some point I would be able to see what was going on and deal with it. Firstly there was nothing else that I needed to do that was going to help out. All I needed right now was to make sure that I h

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 64

Lyra's POV. One of the most amazing things that I had ever done in my entire life had to be the fact that I have been able to understand the difference between the different timelines and how to navigate through it without losing my mind.I was only committed to one and that needed all the time in the world just to be able to sort many differences out."So... Are you a little bit worried by what this might bring and how longMy heart was pounding so hard that I almost felt it leaping out of my chest. My hands were tight but I had only one will.I needed to live, even if that was the last thing that I did. There was basically no option for me and I wasn't going to take chances. "If she gets away, we are doomed!" Somebody yelled from behind me. I was a little bit irritated by the way they were acting but I couldn't blame them either. It wasn't entirely there fault the way things were going, they had just been conditioned to think that Selene wielded the entire power. I also thought

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 62

Lyra's POV. I didn't think that there was going to be a change in the fact, "I didn't have the right to change the mandate but there wasn't anything more the other day." "Are you sure that there's something wrong with the issues at hand or is this something else that you need to tell me?" Camille headed towards me with the intention to get more information out of me but that was not going to happen. I had already figured out that there was going to be a little bit of a mix up here and there and I was waiting to see how long it was going to take and what exactly I had to do to sort out the entire problems. I had taken a deep breath yet refused to look straight into what she wanted me to do. I was thinking about how long it was going to take for me to be able to sort out a few things but here I was, dealing with more issues than none. "Is this really a thing or...?"I took a deep breath refusing to answer my question because it was harmful to my person and I would love to have the
