Nox’s POV

I HATE HIM !!

I hated him with my entire being. I was so close to sinking my bloodthirsty canines in that shitty excuse of an Alpha’s neck !

So so so close !!

Ughh.

I whimpered as the mighty body of my father’s Beta wolf form crashed into my 13-year-old one. I immediately gave up on resisting under him when he glared at me.

While my father’s Beta wolf angrily growled at me, I heard my fugly enemy with a capital FUG, getting scolded by his Alpha father.

“I WILL BANISH YOU MYSELF, XAYDEN ADLER IF I FIND YOU FIGHTING WITH MY BETA’S SON AGAIN !!” I heard Alpha Christopher Adler also sweetly known as Alpha Chris growl, as he himself pinned down his son’s 13-year-old wolf in mere human form only.

From the corner of my eye, I could see my arch enemy’s neck bleed profusely and although Dad’s wolf caught me by my neck between his teeth, I secretly felt happy about injuring the Alpha heir.

However, the fight had never been one-sided and when Dad dropped me in front of our house, a piercing pain shot through my hind leg.

“Oh my God ! What happened to my baby ?” Mom demanded before she hurried back inside and came back in a jiffy with a first aid box.

Dad growled in annoyance and went ahead inside before he too came back with his clothes on.

However, when he came back, his frown was gone and his shoulders had drooped. He did not look angry. He looked sad. Really sad.

“I thought I raised you better, Nox,” he tiredly said as he watched mom apply the burning antiseptic.

Instead of hissing in pain which was caused physically by the ointment and the natural healing process of my wolf, I whimpered in pain that I had caused emotionally to my father.

He was usually so proud of me !

“Did you get into a fight with the Alpha’s son again ?” Mom snapped angrily and threw the ointment bottle on my recently shifted pup’s tail causing me to have whiplash.

What the hell ?!

What just happened to “my baby” and “I will kill the bastard who did this ?”

Moms. Argh.

“You are not staying here any more, son,” Dad sighed, and my head instantly shot towards his direction. I had totally forgotten about him when my mom did a complete 180-degree. What ?!

“Huh ? Noooooo Dad !!!!! I am so so-sorrrryyyy”, I whined as I shifted back to my human form. However, it was too damn painful especially when my bones cracked as they morphed back into their original form.

Dad shook his head and muttered, “No Nox. This is not a punishment. Did you shift for the first time ?” He asked.

"Second," I whispered, wishing that I was anywhere but here. Human ears might not have caught what I'd said, but I was equally sure that my Beta Dad’s ears must have heard the mono word alright.

“Explain”, he urged.

“I shifted last night on my birthday”, I murmured and then looked away shamefully.

“And you decided to ruin the Alpha’s son’s birthday today by turning it into his funeral ?” Mom thundered as she entered the scene suddenly.

“He challenged me first !” I tried to defend myself, but Mom looked like she would explode like a volcano any time now.

“Nox Canning, I swear I am going to spank that small ass of yours till it turns beetroot red myself !!” She hollered.

“That’s child abuse, mom !!” I shouted back and curse my uncontrollable mouth. I paid the price for having a loose trap.

“You are in so much trouble, son,” my mom gritted out and I prayed so hard for the first time in my life that my mom was not up to what I thought she was.

And she was …. drum rolls ….

“I am confiscating your new book set for the entire week and no more reading books while eating your food !!” She harshly grounded me and the nerd inside me just died !!

She really did what I was dreading so much !!!!!

“The punishment stands null and void in any case”, my Dad shook his head and I tensed back again. I could feel that something was wrong, and I was on the verge of throwing up when I heard the next few words.

“You are not living here anymore, Nox”, Dad announced.

“WHAT ?”, Mom and I shouted together.

“You can not banish your son from this pack !!” Mom exclaimed horrified.

"Dad, I'm sorry ! It won't happen again," I cried.

“Don’t jump the gun, drama queens.” Dad rolled his eyes. “He is going to the Academy of Dark Arts for his Beta training,” he declared with finality.

“No way, Beta Canning !” My fiercely protective mother lashed out at her mate. When the words - “Beta Canning” came out of her mouth, Dad would either shake with fear like a writhing leaf or else, argh, let’s not discuss bedroom matters when it’s my parents concerned !!! Eww. “I will not allow you to send my baby to the opposite face of the Earth !” Mom hissed at poor Dad and shot a murderous glare his way.

That’s right Dad !

Dad sighed before he replied, “He needs to train for 6 years, Evelyn. Don’t you want to see your son as a strong and capable Beta ? Someone who can run this huge pack along with the Alpha ?” Dad tried to show the rationale behind his decision and I could see my traitorous mom getting swayed by his flowery words.

“But Dad I can’t leave my friends !!” I wailed.

“Alrighty, it is decided !” Mom squealed. “Chop chop little lamb. We got lots of shopping and packing to do !! Do remind me to buy loads of condoms for you and razors. I have no idea what they make in that part of the world !! I don’t want my baby to suffer,” she pinched my cheek while talking to me in her baby voice.

Did she think I was a pet dog or a newborn ?

I just turned into a teenager for fuck’s sake !!

Argh.

Everything was so infuriating !

Time lost meaning. He sat in the same chair day after day, fingers wrapped around Azrion’s unmoving hand, as though letting go might finally make it real. This was why he had rejected him. This was why he had endured twelve years of loneliness. To protect him.And now Azrion had thrown it all away.“How could you do this to me?” Vance whispered hoarsely one night, silver eyes burning. “How could you decide my life wasn’t worth keeping you alive?”No answer came. The door creaked softly.Azrion’s fingers twitched.Vance froze.Slowly—agonizingly slowly—Azrion’s eyes opened.Blue. Clear. Alive.“You always accuse me of being selfish,” Azrion murmured weakly. “But you never notice when you are.”Vance surged to his feet so fast the chair clattered backward. “You—” His voice broke. “You’re awake

Harvey had learned control early.Control over boardrooms. Over balance sheets. Over other men’s posturing and power plays. Control over the wolf that lived beneath his skin—patient, supreme, coiled tight behind bone and discipline. What he had not learned—what no Alpha was ever truly taught—was how to endure seeing his mate chosen by the pup before he himself had earned the right. The moment Harvey stepped into the house and saw Aaron asleep upright in the bed, their child cradled perfectly against his chest, something in him shifted. The fading imprint-mark on Aaron’s shoulder glimmered faintly to Harvey’s senses, invisible to the eye but roaring to the wolf. The bite marks on Aaron’s palm sealed it.The cub had chosen. And Harvey’s wolf surged forward in response—violent, possessive, reverent all at once.Mine!Harvey sucked in a sharp breath and turned away before the sound became a growl.Kyle noticed immediately.“Harv,” Kyle said quietly, already moving. “You need air, babe.”“

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-4)

The storm swallowed Aaron whole.Rain lashed his face as he stumbled through the trees, shoes slipping in mud, lungs burning. Branches clawed at his arms, tearing skin already bruised and yellowed from older injuries. He didn’t stop. Couldn’t. Every crack of thunder sounded like pursuit. He didn’t know where he was going. He just ran. Away.A howl suddenly cut through the storm.Aaron froze. It wasn’t distant. It wasn’t wild in the way wolves on documentaries sounded. This was close. Controlled. Intelligent. And most frighteningly. Predatory. His heart slammed violently against his ribs as shapes moved between the trees—too fast, too quiet. Yellow eyes gleamed in the dark. One. Then another. And another. Then four and five. And finally, the biggest and tallest made an appearance. Slow but dangerous.Aaron backed up slowly, breath shaking. “P-please,” he whispered, uselessly. “I—I don’t have anything—”A growl answered him, low and mocking. The largest shape stepped forward, rain slidi

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-3)

On the ride home, Aaron pressed in without being told. Kyle’s hand settled firmly on Aaron’s thigh this time, fingers spreading, grounding him through every curve of the road. Not rushing. Not taking. Just reminding him exactly where he was. When they pulled into the driveway, neither of them moved to get off right away.Kyle cut the engine. The sudden quiet was deafening.“You still with me?” Kyle asked softly.Aaron nodded, forehead resting between Kyle’s shoulder blades. “Yes.”Kyle reached back and squeezed his thigh once more—slow, deliberate. “Good boy.”There was that phrase again. Good boy. Aaron’s heart jumpstarted.“You ride well,” Kyle murmured near his ear. “Responsive. Sensitive.”Aaron’s heart almost gave out. Finally, Kyle swung off the bike in one smooth motion.Aaron stayed where he was.The seat was still warm beneath him, legs loose, hands resting uncertainly at his sides. He leaned back instinctively, spine arching as the bike steadied him, breath still uneven from

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-2)

Kyle didn’t corner Aaron. He waited. That was the difference. If Harvey was heat and pressure, Kyle was gravity—subtle, inescapable, pulling Aaron closer without ever seeming to move.It started with proximity.Aaron would be chopping vegetables, baby balanced on his hip, when Kyle would drift into the kitchen and lean against the counter. Not touching. Just close enough that Aaron could feel his warmth and the carefully dabbed essential oils and enticing scents.“You don’t need to do that,” Kyle said one afternoon, watching Aaron rinse rice three times like it was sacred and chopping vegetables in record time. “I could’ve ordered takeout.”Aaron shook his head. “You said this was your favorite.”Kyle blinked. “I said that once.”Aaron shrugged, embarrassed. “I remember things.”Kyle watched him for a long moment. Then, quietly, “I like that about you. But you are my favourite thing.”Aaron’s hands stilled. Did he really say that?Kyle reached past him for a spoon, his arm brushing Aa
