Xayden’s POV

“MATE ! MATE IS HERE !!”, my wolf excitedly said, urging me to run faster and give him control which I of course refused to do.

I wafted up my nose to get another whiff of the sweet smell, which had me practically bolting over the sharpest of rocks and scariest of bridges over tempestuous white waters, which I would have never dreamt of doing to rush like the wind towards the other end of the forest.

However, my overly excited heart came to a racing stop when I saw my mate’s tongue down another wolf’s throat.

And that wasn’t the only heart-wrenching revelation that shattered what was left of my already bruised sanity.

My mate — the one the universe supposedly handpicked just for me — had clearly slept with someone else not too long ago. His scent reeked of another, soaked in the remnants of whatever careless, soulless business they had done. The betrayal clung to him like a second skin.

My mate was a player.

But strangely enough, that still wasn’t the precipitating factor for the avalanche of disappointment crashing through my chest.

No. The real, gut-twisting blow was this:

My mate was a he — and as if that cosmic joke wasn’t brutal enough — he also happened to be my sworn enemy ... and the godsdamned future Beta of the pack.

Fate didn’t just screw me over.

It lit the fuse, tossed the match, and watched me burn.

Nox’s POV

I felt manhandled just from his gaze.

He had turned out to be a devastatingly handsome man over these years and if it were not for his rotten personality, I would have already jumped his bones and accepted him not only as my Alpha but as my mate too.

Was it Karma that was biting me in the ass or did the Moon Goddess hate me so much that she paired me with the only living thing I hated in this world ?

Alright, alright. I hated my greens too, so not the only living thing, but I would have preferred dying to rather mating with such a piece of fvcking horseshit.

While my lips locked with another nameless wolf who I had picked up from the airplane I travelled in, my eyes refused to tear away from the six feet four of pure sensuality and movie star hotness that stood just a few feet away from me.

His dark black eyes which looked straight in mine, drank the sight of the new me in disbelief while they were fanned by messy hair and bad boy looks that added to his physical appeal. Even his plump pink lips looked so kissable at the moment even though I already had a pair of them stuffed in my mouth.

God, he was gorgeous. At least hot enough to melt the rubber in my car's tires.

It was not hard to miss how his jaw ticked in fury and rage-filled eyes narrowed behind his messy blonde locks. Even like this, he looked drop-dead gorgeous. It was almost unfair that he looked so sinfully handsome in spite of looking so angry.

If looks could kill, I was sure that not only the lover in my arms, but I too, would have been six feet under the ground long ago.

And why not ?

After all, I was his enemy and his mate !

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #9 (PART-2)

Third PersonThree weeks passed.Vance did not move. The hospital room became his entire world—white walls, steady monitors, the quiet rise and fall of Azrion’s chest. Hunger dulled. Thirst faded. Time lost meaning. He sat in the same chair day after day, fingers wrapped around Azrion’s unmoving hand, as though letting go might finally make it real. This was why he had rejected him. This was why he had endured twelve years of loneliness. To protect him.And now Azrion had thrown it all away.“How could you do this to me?” Vance whispered hoarsely one night, silver eyes burning. “How could you decide my life wasn’t worth keeping you alive?”No answer came. The door creaked softly.Azrion’s fingers twitched.Vance froze.Slowly—agonizingly slowly—Azrion’s eyes opened.Blue. Clear. Alive.“You always accuse me of being selfish,” Azrion murmured weakly. “But you never notice when you are.”Vance surged to his feet so fast the chair clattered backward. “You—” His voice broke. “You’re awake

Harvey had learned control early.Control over boardrooms. Over balance sheets. Over other men’s posturing and power plays. Control over the wolf that lived beneath his skin—patient, supreme, coiled tight behind bone and discipline. What he had not learned—what no Alpha was ever truly taught—was how to endure seeing his mate chosen by the pup before he himself had earned the right. The moment Harvey stepped into the house and saw Aaron asleep upright in the bed, their child cradled perfectly against his chest, something in him shifted. The fading imprint-mark on Aaron’s shoulder glimmered faintly to Harvey’s senses, invisible to the eye but roaring to the wolf. The bite marks on Aaron’s palm sealed it.The cub had chosen. And Harvey’s wolf surged forward in response—violent, possessive, reverent all at once.Mine!Harvey sucked in a sharp breath and turned away before the sound became a growl.Kyle noticed immediately.“Harv,” Kyle said quietly, already moving. “You need air, babe.”“

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-4)

The storm swallowed Aaron whole.Rain lashed his face as he stumbled through the trees, shoes slipping in mud, lungs burning. Branches clawed at his arms, tearing skin already bruised and yellowed from older injuries. He didn’t stop. Couldn’t. Every crack of thunder sounded like pursuit. He didn’t know where he was going. He just ran. Away.A howl suddenly cut through the storm.Aaron froze. It wasn’t distant. It wasn’t wild in the way wolves on documentaries sounded. This was close. Controlled. Intelligent. And most frighteningly. Predatory. His heart slammed violently against his ribs as shapes moved between the trees—too fast, too quiet. Yellow eyes gleamed in the dark. One. Then another. And another. Then four and five. And finally, the biggest and tallest made an appearance. Slow but dangerous.Aaron backed up slowly, breath shaking. “P-please,” he whispered, uselessly. “I—I don’t have anything—”A growl answered him, low and mocking. The largest shape stepped forward, rain slidi

On the ride home, Aaron pressed in without being told. Kyle’s hand settled firmly on Aaron’s thigh this time, fingers spreading, grounding him through every curve of the road. Not rushing. Not taking. Just reminding him exactly where he was. When they pulled into the driveway, neither of them moved to get off right away.Kyle cut the engine. The sudden quiet was deafening.“You still with me?” Kyle asked softly.Aaron nodded, forehead resting between Kyle’s shoulder blades. “Yes.”Kyle reached back and squeezed his thigh once more—slow, deliberate. “Good boy.”There was that phrase again. Good boy. Aaron’s heart jumpstarted.“You ride well,” Kyle murmured near his ear. “Responsive. Sensitive.”Aaron’s heart almost gave out. Finally, Kyle swung off the bike in one smooth motion.Aaron stayed where he was.The seat was still warm beneath him, legs loose, hands resting uncertainly at his sides. He leaned back instinctively, spine arching as the bike steadied him, breath still uneven from

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-2)

Kyle didn’t corner Aaron. He waited. That was the difference. If Harvey was heat and pressure, Kyle was gravity—subtle, inescapable, pulling Aaron closer without ever seeming to move.It started with proximity.Aaron would be chopping vegetables, baby balanced on his hip, when Kyle would drift into the kitchen and lean against the counter. Not touching. Just close enough that Aaron could feel his warmth and the carefully dabbed essential oils and enticing scents.“You don’t need to do that,” Kyle said one afternoon, watching Aaron rinse rice three times like it was sacred and chopping vegetables in record time. “I could’ve ordered takeout.”Aaron shook his head. “You said this was your favorite.”Kyle blinked. “I said that once.”Aaron shrugged, embarrassed. “I remember things.”Kyle watched him for a long moment. Then, quietly, “I like that about you. But you are my favourite thing.”Aaron’s hands stilled. Did he really say that?Kyle reached past him for a spoon, his arm brushing Aa
