The morning sun sliced through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the penthouse like a direct insult.

My head was pounding with a dull, chemical ache, a residual hangover from the volatile, tampered suppressants currently trapped in my bloodstream.I stood in front of the guest room mirror, staring at myself in disgust.

Rex had thrown a bundle of his own clothes at me the night before, and now I was drowning in an oversized, heavy cotton black t-shirt that smelled faintly of his metallic, leather Alpha notes.

The collar loosely slipped down one side, completely exposing my collarbone and the unbonded scent gland at the base of my neck.I looked down at my bare feet, my jaw tightening. Absolute house arrest.

That’s what he had called it.

"Like hell," I muttered, my voice raspy. If Rex Vance thought that locking my suppressants in a kitchen cabinet and pinning me under his roof meant I was going to turn into a compliant, trembling little Omega, he was about to get a reality check.

I was a professional mechanic. I spent my days lifting heavy engine blocks and cursing out elite drivers. I didn't bow, and I certainly didn't play house.I pulled open the bedroom door and marched down the western hallway, my bare soles clicking sharply against the cold hardwood.

The scent of premium, dark-roast coffee and clean ozone hit me first.

I rounded the corner into the massive, high-tech kitchen. Rex was already there. He was dressed in grey athletic sweatpants, his broad chest entirely bare, revealing the sharp alignment of his spine and the dense muscle of his shoulders as he leaned over the marble island.

On the counter sat a digital scale, a collection of precisely weighed nutrient containers, and a high-performance blender.

He was meticulously calculating his data-tracked athlete breakfast routine, completely unbothered by the chaos he had dropped me into.I didn't say a word.

I walked straight past him, grabbed a heavy porcelain coffee mug from the open shelving, and deliberately slammed it down on the digital scale, scattering his precisely measured protein powder across the pristine white marble.

Rex froze. His broad shoulders went rigidly still. Slowly, his head turned, his piercing gray eyes narrowing into a dangerous, icy glare as he looked down at the mess, then up at my face.

"You're in my space, Ethan," Rex said, his voice a low, rough vibration that carried the heavy weight of an early-morning Alpha warning. "And you just ruined a calibrated caloric intake script. Step back."

"Oh, did I mess up your perfect little script, Vance?" I sneered, leaning my hips against the counter, crossing my arms over my chest.

I deliberately kicked a container of organic oats off the edge, watching it hit the floor and burst open, scattering grains across the designer tile. "Oops. My hand slipped. I guess house pets aren't very good at following instructions."

Rex’s nostrils flared, inhaling the defiant, sharp scent of my lingering heat. He turned his full frame toward me, towering over me, his massive shadow completely blocking out the morning sun.

"You think this is a joke? Christian is sitting outside, my brother is running track diagnostic reports, and you're in here throwing a tantrum like a feral cat. Clean it up. Now."

"Make me," I spat, my chin lifting as I stared right back into his dark, dilated pupils.Rex’s jaw twitched. He let out a low, predatory growl that vibrated directly against my ribs.

"I said, clean it up."He didn't just use his normal voice. He dropped his pitch, releasing a localized wave of pure Alpha command—a psychological and biological weight designed to force any submissive Lycan to drop to their knees in absolute obedience.

The air in the kitchen grew heavy, suffocatingly dense. My knees trembled instinctively, a deep, primal part of my biology screaming at me to lower my eyes and bow down to the pack alpha.

My chest heaved, my breath turning ragged as I fought the crushing pressure.

But I forced my hands to clench into fists, my knuckles turning white against the marble.

I gathered every ounce of spite, venom, and stubborn pride in my body, and I pushed right back through his command.I snatched the heavy porcelain coffee mug off the counter and slammed it violently down at his bare feet.

The mug shattered into a dozen sharp fragments, hot coffee splattering across his ankles and the white tile.

"Your Alpha voice means absolutely nothing to me, Vance!" I roared, my voice echoing off the high ceilings, raw and dripping with unadulterated hatred. "You don't own me! You don't command me! I will tear this entire fucking penthouse apart piece by piece before I ever obey a single word that comes out of your mouth!"

Rex didn't flinch from the shattered porcelain. Instead, an absolute explosion of dark, territorial fury washed over his features.

In a split second, he moved. His hand snatched my waist, his grip unyielding as he violently hoisted me off the floor and slammed me backward against the opposite kitchen counter.

The impact rattled the glasses behind me.

Before I could draw breath to curse, Rex crowded directly into my space, his bare, solid chest pinning mine flat against the stone. He placed both of his massive, calloused hands on the counter on either side of my hips, trapping me completely, his face barely an inch from mine.

"You stubborn, foul-mouthed little idiot," Rex growled, his breath hot and furious against my lips. "You think you're tough because you can fight a command? Look at you. You're shaking. Your core is burning alive, and you're standing here wasting your energy throwing porcelain at my feet."

"Let me go!" I choked out, my hands flying up to press against the hard, sweat-slicked muscle of his bare shoulders, desperately trying to push his suffocating weight off me.

It was like trying to move a brick wall. The raw proximity of his skin was triggering a terrifying, dizzying wave of physical attraction that caught my system entirely off guard.

My scent gland was throbbing, pouring out a sweet, helpless aroma of submission that completely contradicted the anger in my voice.

"No," Rex whispered, his eyes dropping to my lips, his jaw setting into a tight, possessive line. "You haven't eaten a single thing since yesterday morning. Your system is crashing because you're too fucking proud to admit you're weak right now."

With a sudden, efficient movement, he reached sideways without breaking eye contact, snatched a pre-made nutrient meal replacement bottle from the fridge door, and popped the cap with his teeth. He pressed the cold plastic directly against my lower lip, his heavy thigh sliding right back between my knees to anchor my lower body flat against the cabinets.

"Drink it," he commanded, his tone dropping from a roar into a low, fiercely protective murmur. "Drink it, or I will personally force it down your throat. I won't have my mechanic passing out in my kitchen because he's too stubborn to survive."

"I hate you," I whispered, my teeth chattering as the intoxicating mix of his proximity and the desperate hunger in my belly warred against my pride.

I glared at his lips, my breath hitching as I realized just how desperately I wanted him to close the distance between us.

"I don't care," Rex murmured, his thumb coming up to press firmly against my chin, forcing my mouth open just enough to tilt the liquid in. "Drink."

I swallowed the cool, thick fluid, my chest heaving against his bare torso as we stood frozen in the wreckage of the ruined kitchen, breathing each other's air, our eyes locked in a silent, high-heat standoff that felt dangerously close to breaking.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

The sharp, frantic vibration of a phone on the marble counter shattered the tension. It wasn't Rex's phone.

It was my dead device—which he had plugged into an isolated charging dock on the far side of the island. The screen was flashing bright red, a high-priority encrypted alert bypass that overrode the power down sequence.

Rex slowly pulled back, his gray eyes narrowing as he let go of my wrists and reached across the counter to swipe the line open. He didn't put it to his ear; he just laid it flat between us on speaker.

"Ethan!" Naomi’s voice burst through the speaker, breathless, terrified, and distorted by track interference. "Ethan, if you can hear me, do not come near the paddock! Do not answer any diagnostic pings!"

I lunged forward, my bare feet avoiding the broken glass as I leaned over the counter.

“Naomi! What’s happening? Are you okay?"

"Gavin is here," she gasped, the sound of heavy pneumatic tools and shouting Lycan security guards echoing loudly in the background of her call. "Gavin and the Pack Enforcer, Silas... they just brought a tier-one bio-hazard sweep team into our garage sector. They’re ripping your entire workspace apart, Ethan. Someone filed an anonymous report about a rogue scent anomaly in the pit lane from yesterday’s practice. They’re tracking the chemical signature of your suppressants right now... and Silas just found your hidden locker logs."

The line dissolved into a harsh wave of static before cutting out completely.

The heavy silence that crashed back into the penthouse kitchen was deafening. My phone sat dead on the marble counter, but Naomi's terrified words were still echoing off the walls, ringing in my ears like a death sentence.

They found the logs. They're tracking the chemical signature.

"Naomi," I choked out, my voice cracking as a violent surge of pure adrenaline sliced right through my lingering heat.

I didn't care about the broken glass covering the floor. I didn't care that I was wearing Rex's oversized clothes or that my core was still trembling. I lunged across the kitchen island, my eyes flashing a brilliant, dangerous amber as I grabbed my car keys from the hook.

"Get out of my way, Vance. I'm going back to the paddock. Naomi is taking the heat for a biology fraud she had nothing to do with, and I am not letting your pack destroy her life."

"You aren't going anywhere," Rex growled.

He didn't grab my wrists this time. Instead, he simply stepped laterally, his massive, bare-chested frame instantly blocking the exit to the hallway like an immovable wall of solid granite.

His piercing gray eyes were completely dark, his nostrils flaring as he took a sharp breath, his own dominant Alpha pheromones surging into the room to counter my panic.

"Step the fuck back, Rex!" I screamed, my fingers curling into fists as I slammed my hands against his bare chest, trying to violently shove him out of my path. "That is my workspace! My friend! If Silas tracks those illegal blockers back to Dr. Hart, my life is over anyway! I would rather face the racing board myself than sit here like a coward while your brother destroys everything I've built!"

"Look at your face, Ethan!" Rex roared back, his hands slamming down onto my shoulders, his grip a pair of steel clamps that completely pinned my arms. He shook me once, a controlled blast of physical force meant to snap me out of my panic. "Look at your eyes! You're bleeding pheromones! If you walk onto that track right now, you won't even make it past the security checkpoint before the scent sensors trigger a red alert. You want to save Naomi? You want to keep your license? Then you stay in this fucking room!"

"I don't belong to you!" I hissed, my teeth chattering as the suffocating, intense proximity of his skin made my inner Omega want to surrender to his strength. I glared right back into his dark pupils, my chest heaving against his. "You don't get to decide my fate, Vance!"

"I am deciding the fate of my racing team!" Rex snarled, his face dropping so low his lips almost brushed the scent gland on my neck, his breath hot and ragged against my skin. "You are my primary telemetry specialist. If Gavin fires you or throws you in a cell today, my car doesn't make it past the first corner tomorrow. I am not losing this championship because you're too stubborn to let me handle my own family."

He slowly released his grip on my shoulders, stepping back just an inch, his expression hardening into something cold, ruthless, and terrifyingly calculated.

"Lock the western door behind me," Rex murmured, reaching over to snatch his team jacket off the barstool. "If Christian moves his car an inch closer to the entrance, the residential alarm will trigger. Don't touch the windows, and don't breathe too close to the vents. I'll be back before the qualifiers."

I gripped the edge of my shirt, my jaw clenching as I watched his broad shoulders disappear down the hallway, the heavy front door clicking shut with a definitive, chilling clack.

The deadbolts slid into place. Christian Cross was waiting on the perimeter.

Gavin was ripping the paddock apart.

And as the residual burn of Rex’s metallic Alpha scent began to fade from the quiet kitchen, the terrifying truth settled deep in my chest.

The war had officially left the garage. And the only man who could keep me from a containment cell was currently driving straight into the mouth of the wolf.

  • ALPHA’S REDLINE CLAIM   The Hunter's Mind

To the world, I am Rex Vance—the absolute king of the redline, an untamable Alpha who leaves nothing but burning rubber and crushed expectations behind him on the asphalt. My older brother, Gavin, raised me to believe that an Alpha’s only purpose is to dominate his rivals, secure the family legacy, and treat emotional attachments like fatal track design flaws. But as I drove my fist straight into the heavy leather punching bag in the penthouse training room, the only metric running through my skull was the chaotic, intoxicating scent of Ethan Vale.An Omega.A foul-mouthed, abrasive, brilliant little mechanic who had been turning my wrenches for months, screaming at my telemetry setups, and treating my Alpha status like a personal joke. The moment I had walked into that VIP locker room yesterday and caught him shivering on the floor, clutching my sweat-soaked racing suit to his chest, my inner Lycan wolf hadn't just reacted. It had gone completely feral. The primal instinct had slam

The heavy carbon-fiber key fob felt like a block of ice pressing into the palm of my sweat-slicked hand.I didn't look back at Rex as I shoved past his broad shoulder, my boots clicking sharply against the polished concrete of the VIP locker room. Every breath I took felt thick, my lungs still heavy with the lingering, metallic burn of his Alpha pheromones. My body was a walking warzone—the biological heat pulsing beneath my skin was at a temporary, agonizing standstill, held back only by the sheer, icy terror flooding my veins."Keep your head down," Rex’s low, commanding rumble came from directly behind me. I could hear the rustle of his team gear as he pulled a fresh shirt over his broad chest, his heavy, rhythmic strides matching mine step-for-step. "If Adrian or any of the PR interns catch sight of your face right now, I’ll let them know you're being reassigned to my private telemetry detail. Don't make a scene.""Go fuck yourself, Vance," I hissed under my breath, not slowing d

  • ALPHA’S REDLINE CLAIM   Trapped Against the Metal

The metal locker door hummed coldly against my spine, but the front of my body was burning alive under the weight of Rex Vance. His massive frame completely crowded my space, pinning my wrists flat against the metal locker above my head with a single, calloused hand. He didn't just stand over me; he anchored himself against me, treating my body like a piece of track he had just claimed at two hundred miles an hour."Let. Me. Go," I ground out through my teeth. The words were supposed to sound fierce, but the ragged edge of my failing suppressants turned the sentence into a shaky breath."Why should I?" Rex leaned down further, his bare chest radiating a suffocating heat through my uniform shirt. He was entirely unbothered by my struggling. In fact, every time I twisted my wrists against his grip, his smirk only cut deeper into his sharp jawline. "We finally have something to talk about, little mechanic. All those months of you cursing at my setups, ignoring my pit orders, acting like

The telemetry line on screen three wasn't just spiking; it was bleeding.Seventy thousand fans were screaming in the grandstands outside, their collective roar vibrating right through the concrete floor of the Vance Racing garage bay, but all I could hear was the frantic, irregular heartbeat of the Formula engine screaming down the straightaway at two hundred and forty miles an hour."The rear-axle dampening is stable, Ethan, leave it alone," Naomi muttered, wiping a streak of black grease from her cheek as she leaned over the spare tire racks."It’s not the dampening," I snapped, my fingers flying across the diagnostic terminal. My eyes tracked the microscopic heat signature of the turbine housing. "The pressure fluid in the auxiliary line is bleeding out. The thermal seals are cooking themselves. If he takes the next apex at full throttle, the rear suspension is going to snap.""Vance is on a flying lap," Naomi warned, her voice suddenly losing its casual edge as she looked at my sc
