To the world, I am Rex Vance—the absolute king of the redline, an untamable Alpha who leaves nothing but burning rubber and crushed expectations behind him on the asphalt.

My older brother, Gavin, raised me to believe that an Alpha’s only purpose is to dominate his rivals, secure the family legacy, and treat emotional attachments like fatal track design flaws.

But as I drove my fist straight into the heavy leather punching bag in the penthouse training room, the only metric running through my skull was the chaotic, intoxicating scent of Ethan Vale.

An Omega.

A foul-mouthed, abrasive, brilliant little mechanic who had been turning my wrenches for months, screaming at my telemetry setups, and treating my Alpha status like a personal joke.

The moment I had walked into that VIP locker room yesterday and caught him shivering on the floor, clutching my sweat-soaked racing suit to his chest, my inner Lycan wolf hadn't just reacted. It had gone completely feral.

The primal instinct had slammed into my chest like a head-on collision at two hundred miles an hour, locking its jaws around a single, cosmic truth my rational mind was still fighting to accept: He is mine. My long-lost fated mate.

And right now, my own family was trying to hunt him down.

"Stay here," I growled, walking back into the kitchen where Ethan was still standing frozen by the counter, his amber eyes wide with residual shock from Naomi’s frantic phone call. I snatched my team jacket off the barstool and pulled it over my bare shoulders, my gray eyes pinning him to the spot. "If you touch that front door, the residential biometric grid logs it instantly. Silas will have a containment team here before you can clear the lobby."

"You don't tell me what to do, Vance," Ethan spat back, though his voice shook slightly as he gripped the edge of the marble island. His scent was still flaring—a sweet, panicked aroma of wild mint and raw heat that made my wolf roar inside my chest, demanding I drag him back to the bedroom and mark him right now to quiet his fear. "That's my workspace they're tearing apart.

My friend Naomi is down there taking the heat for me. I'm not going to sit here like a coward while your pack destroys her life."

"Naomi is smart enough to play the ignorant Beta," I snapped, stepping directly into his space until the fabric of my jacket brushed his chest.

I reached out, my thumb firmly catching his chin and tilting his face up so he had no choice but to look into my dilated pupils. "But you aren't. Look at your eyes, Ethan. You're bleeding pheromones. If you walk onto that track right now, you aren't just getting fired—you're getting locked in a pack quarantine cell for illegal biology fraud. Let me handle my brother."

Ethan's breath hitched, his fingers clenching into the oversized black t-shirt of mine he was wearing. He looked up at me with pure, concentrated venom, but he didn't pull away from my touch. "If you let them hurt Naomi, Rex... I swear to God, I will dismantle your car piece by piece before the qualifiers."

"She won't be touched," I murmured, my thumb sliding slowly across his lower lip, memorizing the soft, burning heat of his skin before I forced myself to drop his chin, turn on my heel, and walk out. "Lock the door behind me."

Twenty minutes later, the tires of my hyper-car screamed as I pulled into the team’s private paddock garage.

The atmosphere inside the bay was suffocating. The standard hum of pneumatic tools and telemetry tracking data had been replaced by a tense, icy silence.

Three massive Lycan enforcers dressed in black Vance Pack security tactical gear stood guard at the perimeter, while a bio-hazard sweep team scanned the floorboards with sensory tracking units.

In the center of the chaos stood my older brother, Gavin Vance. At thirty-four, the Pack Alpha was an intimidating, immovable wall of tradition, his dark suit pristine despite the garage grease. Beside him, Silas—the pack’s ruthless Enforcer—was holding a crowbar, having just ripped the steel door completely off Ethan’s personal workbench locker.

"What the fuck is going on in my garage?" I roared, my voice dropping into a dominant Alpha register that made the assistant mechanics at the tire racks instantly drop their eyes to the floor.

Gavin slowly turned around, his piercing gray eyes—the exact shade of my own—locking onto mine with a cold, unbothered calculation. "You're late for the track briefing, Rex. And your primary telemetry mechanic is missing."

"Ethan Vale is at my penthouse," I stated smoothly, crossing my arms over my chest as I stepped directly past Silas, ignoring the shattered pieces of the locker door on the floor. "I reassigned him to an isolated, top-secret engine calibration script last night. The rear-axle downforce from yesterday's practice was garbage, and I don't want the rival teams sniffing our telemetry data before the qualifiers."

Silas stepped forward, his massive frame casting a long shadow as he held up a small, empty synthetic container he had pulled from the back of Ethan's locker. "A top-secret script doesn't explain this, Rex. Someone filed an anonymous report with the racing board's safety board an hour ago. A rogue scent anomaly—specifically a high-grade Omega suppression blocker—was detected in this exact pit lane during yesterday's laps. And the chemical signature traces directly to Vale's workspace."

My heart hammered against my ribs, a cold adrenaline spike hitting my veins, but I kept my expression completely deadpan.

"Christian Cross is sitting outside my residential high-rise right now trying to scrape up media leverage because he knows he can't beat me on the straightaway tomorrow. You're going to let a pathetic anonymous leak from Team Cross dictate how we run our paddock, Gavin?"

Gavin looked at the empty container in Silas's hand, then back at my face. The sheer weight of his Pack Alpha pressure surged through the garage, testing my boundaries, searching for a single crack in my defense. "I don't care about Christian Cross, little brother. I care about the Vance championship. An illegal Omega inside a professional organization would result in a lifetime ban for this entire team."

"Then let me do my fucking job and win the race," I growled back, my inner wolf snarling at the threat to my mate, pushing my own Alpha aura outward until the concrete floor seemed to vibrate between us. "Vale is my mechanic. His logs are my responsibility. If you want to run sensory checks on his biology, do it after I take the checkered flag tomorrow."

Gavin stayed silent for three agonizing seconds, the tension in the garage bay stretched to a razor-thin breaking point. Finally, he gave a short, curt nod to Silas, who lowered the crowbar.

"Twenty-four hours, Rex," Gavin warned, his voice dropping into a chilling whisper as he stepped past me toward the exit. "If your car falls below the redline during the qualifiers, or if Silas finds a single drop of unauthorized pheromones in your penthouse... I won't just fire the mechanic. I will strip you of your star driver status and hand the seat to Marcus."

The moment my brother's security detail cleared the bay, Adrian Cole, our PR Director, came sprinting through the back corridor, his face completely pale as he clutched a tablet to his chest.

"Rex, we have a catastrophic problem," Adrian gasped, his fingers shaking as he turned the screen toward me. "The track briefing leak didn't go to the board. It went to the independent racing media blogs five minutes ago."

I looked down at the display. My blood turned to pure ice.

It was a graining, high-resolution paparazzi photograph taken from the restricted tunnels yesterday. It clearly showed me violently spinning Ethan around, my broad bare chest pinning his flushed, trembling body flat against the driver locker doors, his amber eyes wide with unmistakable, feverish heat.

The headline beneath the photo was already trending at number one across the global sports networks:

“RACING CHAMPION HIDING SECRET OMEGA LOVER IN THE PIT LANE?”

  • ALPHA’S REDLINE CLAIM    Domestic Warfare

The morning sun sliced through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the penthouse like a direct insult. My head was pounding with a dull, chemical ache, a residual hangover from the volatile, tampered suppressants currently trapped in my bloodstream.I stood in front of the guest room mirror, staring at myself in disgust. Rex had thrown a bundle of his own clothes at me the night before, and now I was drowning in an oversized, heavy cotton black t-shirt that smelled faintly of his metallic, leather Alpha notes. The collar loosely slipped down one side, completely exposing my collarbone and the unbonded scent gland at the base of my neck.I looked down at my bare feet, my jaw tightening. Absolute house arrest. That’s what he had called it."Like hell," I muttered, my voice raspy. If Rex Vance thought that locking my suppressants in a kitchen cabinet and pinning me under his roof meant I was going to turn into a compliant, trembling little Omega, he was about to get a reality check. I was

The heavy carbon-fiber key fob felt like a block of ice pressing into the palm of my sweat-slicked hand.I didn't look back at Rex as I shoved past his broad shoulder, my boots clicking sharply against the polished concrete of the VIP locker room. Every breath I took felt thick, my lungs still heavy with the lingering, metallic burn of his Alpha pheromones. My body was a walking warzone—the biological heat pulsing beneath my skin was at a temporary, agonizing standstill, held back only by the sheer, icy terror flooding my veins."Keep your head down," Rex’s low, commanding rumble came from directly behind me. I could hear the rustle of his team gear as he pulled a fresh shirt over his broad chest, his heavy, rhythmic strides matching mine step-for-step. "If Adrian or any of the PR interns catch sight of your face right now, I’ll let them know you're being reassigned to my private telemetry detail. Don't make a scene.""Go fuck yourself, Vance," I hissed under my breath, not slowing d

  • ALPHA’S REDLINE CLAIM   Trapped Against the Metal

The metal locker door hummed coldly against my spine, but the front of my body was burning alive under the weight of Rex Vance. His massive frame completely crowded my space, pinning my wrists flat against the metal locker above my head with a single, calloused hand. He didn't just stand over me; he anchored himself against me, treating my body like a piece of track he had just claimed at two hundred miles an hour."Let. Me. Go," I ground out through my teeth. The words were supposed to sound fierce, but the ragged edge of my failing suppressants turned the sentence into a shaky breath."Why should I?" Rex leaned down further, his bare chest radiating a suffocating heat through my uniform shirt. He was entirely unbothered by my struggling. In fact, every time I twisted my wrists against his grip, his smirk only cut deeper into his sharp jawline. "We finally have something to talk about, little mechanic. All those months of you cursing at my setups, ignoring my pit orders, acting like

  • ALPHA’S REDLINE CLAIM   The Paddock Redline

The telemetry line on screen three wasn't just spiking; it was bleeding.Seventy thousand fans were screaming in the grandstands outside, their collective roar vibrating right through the concrete floor of the Vance Racing garage bay, but all I could hear was the frantic, irregular heartbeat of the Formula engine screaming down the straightaway at two hundred and forty miles an hour."The rear-axle dampening is stable, Ethan, leave it alone," Naomi muttered, wiping a streak of black grease from her cheek as she leaned over the spare tire racks."It’s not the dampening," I snapped, my fingers flying across the diagnostic terminal. My eyes tracked the microscopic heat signature of the turbine housing. "The pressure fluid in the auxiliary line is bleeding out. The thermal seals are cooking themselves. If he takes the next apex at full throttle, the rear suspension is going to snap.""Vance is on a flying lap," Naomi warned, her voice suddenly losing its casual edge as she looked at my sc
