ALPHA'S SECOND CHANCE: No One Touches What's Mine

LAIS VOLKOVA….

I felt my heart hammering inside my ribcage as I was walking through the lobby of the hotel ‘Blue Whisper’. I headed straight to the elevator and got into it. The door of the elevator closed as I pressed the floor button.

My body was getting numb as the number of the floor was passing. I was literally shaking so I was fisting the side of my dress in my fists. Suddenly I felt an extreme pain in my heart and I knew why I was feeling that way. My mate Jared Winter was cheating on his three-month-pregnant wife. And I was here to know who the girl was with whom he was cheating on me.

The elevator door opened with a ding and I came out of the elevator. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator I felt the pain in my heart again. And it came with full force, making me grit my teeth. I huffed, taking in as much air as possible but no use this time the pain only intensified.

I bit my bottom lip to stop myself from screaming. I didn't want to grab any unwanted attention, but the pain was becoming more and more unbearable with each passing second. My right hand was clutching my heart tightly while I held the wall with my left hand onto the wall, trying to keep myself up, and forced my feet to walk towards the door, room number 403.

I scanned the card and the door opened. As soon as I pushed the door open a little I was welcomed by loud and vulgar voices coming from the room. My hand clutched around my heart and I wish I never came here. I felt my heart stop when I heard the female voice.

“Ah! Fuck, Jared! Oh yeah, just like that baby," I knew the owner of the voice and if I was not wrong then it was my own little sister.

I pushed the door a little wide to make sure that I wasn't hallucinating. How could my own little sister have an affair with her brother-in-law? My eyes went wide and my hand flew to cover my mouth as I saw my little sister Aveline Volkova in an intimate position with my mate.

I felt like I was struck by lightning. I could not believe what I was seeing was really happening in front of me. I just wish it to be a dream but that dream has become the drastic nightmare of my life.

I can't fucking believe it.

Disgust slammed into my body with the force of a tidal wave. I felt like I couldn't breathe like I was gasping for even the slightest cure of air. I was clutching my heart as if I could tear it out and relieve myself of this burning ache.

The moment Aveline caught the sight of me by the door, her eyes glinted with provocation and her moans became even more licentious. There was no ounce of guilt in her eyes getting caught red-handed to me.

Rage and humiliation assailed me seeing another woman in my mate's arms who was my own sister and on top of that she was not guilty at all for her actions. He has been cheating on me with my sister and I never realised it.

Huh!

So foolish of me.

Aveline's gaze was sultry as she continued caressing him all over with her long and slender fingers, her voice even so hypnotizing. I clenched my hands tightly in a bid to suppress the urge to charge forward and rip them to shreds when I heard her talking to Jared. I wanted to know what she wanted me to hear.

“Darling, don't you feel guilty doing this with me when you're married to my sister? She's even pregnant with your child."

Terror began to seep into me as I waited with bated breaths for his answer. That pause felt like an eternity.

“What's there to be guilty about? I love you not her. I'm just stuck with her because she's my fated mate that the Moon Goddess has chosen for me. She was the wrong choice for me to start with.”

I could feel the floor beneath me folding onto itself into one huge, black sinkhole. So he has been pretending as a caring and loving husband all these four years of our marriage?

“I can't let her go 'cause my wolf is obsessed with her. He will become weak if I reject her. Moreover, I don't want to become the villain in the eyes of my pack members. You know she's the apple of their eyes. They love her and respect her. They will hate me if I hurt her. If she wants she's free to leave me but I'm not going to leave her.” Jared's voice was deep and strained.

“Let her live like a trophy Luna of this pack as she's living now. I don't care about her. I only care about the child she's carrying in her womb who is the heir of the Winter family.” Jared blurted without the slightest restraint.

My heart into the pit of sorrow and my eyes burn viciously. I heard something shattered inside me. It was my heart that shattered into pieces. My heart was thundering as I silently stood near the door. And I felt my eyes burning with unshed tears. I was gritting my teeth to restrain myself from crying.

“What about us then, Jared? Will we keep living like this for the rest of our lives? Won't you give me the right to be a wife? I can't live my life like this. I don't want to continue living in a secret relationship. I want to live as your legal wife.”

I heard my sister whine making a cute face that she's the master of it.

"I can understand your feelings, my love. But don't worry I will get rid of that Lais very soon. Just wait till she gives birth to my child. Then she will be out of our life.”

It was too much information for me to take in at once. And it took everything in me to not break down when I heard Jared saying that. I felt like my world was crashing down. And the tears I have been holding back break.

“But what if she suddenly comes over and catches us red-handed?" Aveline looked at me tauntingly with a sneer playing on her lips.

"It's even better that we don't have to tell her anything. She will leave me herself.” Chuckling nonchalantly Jared continued hammering into Aveline pinning her beneath him.

"She's really here, Jared.” Placing her hands against his chest, Aveline pointed her finger at me.

“That's impossible. No one knows we are here. Then how can she be…..” while saying that, Jared couldn't help glancing at the door.

“Lais!” The moment he spotted me near the door he froze instantly. He swiftly scrambled off Aveline, his gaze brimming with Panic as he regarded me.

Putting on the robe, Jared advanced towards me and held my hands. His gaze was radiating guilt. “I can explain, Lais…..”

My patience broke when I heard his words and the moment I pulled my hands from his grip and gave a tight smack right across his handsome face.

Jared stared at me in utter disbelief and I noticed some blood near his lips that was caused by me.

“What else is there to explain?” I screamed at the top of my lungs. Anger was seeping through my body.

“I saw everything clear as day and heard everything with my own ears what you just said, so what else do you have to say?" I snapped in a burst of frustration.

Jared closed his eyes while running his long fingers through his silky hair looking totally fucked up.

All the emotions came crashing down, anger, betrayal, disappointment, heartbreak, everything.

“What did I do wrong to deserve all of this? Did I ever disappoint you? I tried my best to become the best version of myself to make you happy. But I failed to win your heart.” Tears were streaming down from my eyes.

"I have read somewhere, ‘Don't be afraid of losing people. Be afraid of losing yourself by trying to please everyone.’ In order to please you I forgot to love myself. You were always my first priority. I love you with all my heart just to get betrayed by you like this.”

I was about to fall down but before Jared could touch me I stabilised myself. “I regret loving you. I regret wasting four years of my life on you. I regret neglecting your actions and your wrongdoings. I should have left that day when I came to know that you had been cheating on me. But I choose to give you a chance to repent your mistake but you don't deserve a chance. You are not worthy of my love. I reject……”

Before I could complete my sentence Jared covered my mouth with a dangerous glare. "I dare you to complete that sentence. And I will rip your tongue if you do. Are you forgetting that you have a family too? If you even think to leave me then trust me you will find all your family members dead. Do you want that?” My eyes went wide in shock.

"You are well aware of what I'm capable of.” He stated, in a dangerous tone with a vicious smile on his lips.

He moved his hand from my mouth and cupped my face firmly. “I believe you won't do anything foolish. I do love Aveline. But I will not leave you either until the right time comes. If she's my love you're my ace card. You have to stay with me until I want you out of my life. You can't decide anything on your own.” He let go of my face with a jerk and turned around.

“The universe is based on fair exchange, what you give you will take.” Saying that I left the room slamming the door with a bang.
