I still wondered what was on my mind when I proposed to her to go to Sankt Petersburg, only God knows. I didn’t even have a reason. Maybe I wanted to get her away from it all. To calm her down. I just would not tell her I invited her to have some time together, then she certainly wouldn’t have accepted. She was very proud, and I was also sure she would not go with a stranger into the heart of Russia.

“Where did you say you go? And with whom? You are crazy, my friend!” Liam scolded me and for a good reason. I was crazy, but about her. I was determined to prove to her she was the only one in my life. Being skeptical would not help me right now, but I was very insistent, too.
