CHAPTER SEVEN

        

Life hasn't been easy for Damatris since she arrived Earth. Her journey wasn't as smooth as she had expected, normally she thought a portal would be an invincible door that leads you to another world, but nah she was wrong.

The portal from Satrun to earth was a hot, long, dark tunnel. Normally she thought she would just appear on earth but boom it wasn't as she thought, rather she fell out of the sky and of course she was stark naked.

Luckily, she fell by the river bank, where there wasn't a being, so she immediately used her powers to stand and heal herself.

One thing she knows is that the inhabitants of Earth don't have powers, so it will be weird seeing her do it. She doesn't have the time, she got to strike now that the prince is busy spending a day for fun, if only she knows the hours she spent in that tunnel before she arrived earth.

With the thought of bringing back the goddess, she decided to mingle with people as she immediately walked into the town. Now, How's she going to locate the goddess? She would need accomplices. She noticed something strange as she walked pass some group of people, she found they were staring at her with a strangely, and gosh they all had something covering them. 

She scoffed as she passed them and continued walking, but then she came across a particular girl that kept staring at her like a ghost, and well this same girl was putting on some covering, curiosity got the better part of her as she walked up to her.

"What are this?" Pointing at the clothes and staring at her. "Why are you covering your Hurus? For that's what the people of Satrun called their bodies.

"Argh!" The girl screamed as she took to her heels." Someone get that lunatic, don't let her come close to me."

A lunatic? Do I look like one? It's obvious she's the lunatic. Damatris said as she shrugged and decided to follow the girl, though the girl was no where to be seen, but damatris sharp eyes followed her footsteps till she reached a house. 

"Ding Dong." The door bell rang as an elderly woman went to get it.

"Jesus, child why are you naked, come on in. Are you okay?" All Damatris could do was stare at the strange lady, has everyone gone mad..

"Aren't you coming in?" 

Damatris stared at her for a while, wondering if she could be trusted. Without a word she walked in, while the Lady bolted the door.

"Mum!" A young girl screamed.

Yes that was the girl she met earlier.

"What's she doing here? She's the lunatic that tried to strip me."

What's she talking about? Damatris wondered.

"Baby, it's okay, everything is under control."

"Mum! Look, she's about to sit on our sofa with her body, take her away from it."

      DAMATRIS POV

Gosh, what's her problem. I have a lot of respect on Satrun's territory, but here she is acting like I'm inconveniencing her.

Well that's kind of the least of my problem, what I'm seeing just caught me off guard.

 "What are they doing in there?"

 "How did they get in there? Did you put them there?" I said directing my question to the bossy girl, while she hid behind the woman who I later got to know as Jane.

"Mum! I told you, she's mental."

"No dear, calm down." "That's just a TV"

"What's a TV?"

"Its a device that displays images and objects"

"But I can see people in it, why are they locked in there? How're they breathing?" I said with so much concern written on my face. 

"Gosh, mum I can't believe you're wasting your time to explain things to her, you need to call the cops, she just escaped the Asylum, you need to do that as soon as possible before she kills one of us. She's capable of doing something dangerous. Please mum, I'm scared."

We stared at the other and I could see how uncomfortable she felt as she stared at my body. Tccch, to hell with her.

"Mum, I can't stand this any longer, I'm going to bed." She said walking out. 

The lady explained everything to me concerning the TV but sincerely speaking I didn't understand, Earth and their strange things.

"There are lots of questions I'm wanting to ask you." She said staring at me. " But first you need to shower."

"Shower? What's that."

"You'll see." Saying that she dragged me towards a door.

Gosh, is that how humans bathe? I'm in pain due to the scrubbing, jeez! This is cruelty, if not that she had been so nice to me, I would have done something nasty. I sat as she rubbed me something she called the night powder. Gosh, I wasn't prepared for this encounter. After doing that, she brought out what they called clothes, I hope it isn't for me, cause I'm not wearing that. In Satrun, we go about naked, it's an abomination for anything to cover your body, especially our breast and legs.

"You've got to wear this." She said as she noticed the way I stared at the dress.

"I can't, my people don't wear this, it's a taboo for one to cover herself."

"I don't know where you're coming from, but get this, this isn't your country or State, so you got to do as we do. If you don't, something terrible is gonna happen to you. You could notice my daughter's reaction when she saw you. Its very risky to be naked. If you're here, you should act like us."

Her words made so much meaning that I had to accept. 

"This is a night wear, we call it a pyjamas."

Okay, I said as she wore me the clothes, while I just stared at her.

I had just opened up to her and what my mission in earth is but she just stared at me too dump to speak.

"You mean, you aren't a human?"

"I don't know, all I know is that I'm not from here, I'm on a mission to get the goddess before crown prince Bethuliami does."

"Oh." She said looking thoughtful. "So, have you planned on where to stay?"

"I just arrived today and I don't think I'd stay, as soon as it's dawn, I'm gonna be on my way to find the cure."

"You can't leave."

"Why?"

"Come on, you're new on Earth, you've got to get use to it. Look at you, you don't even know what a clothe or television is, then what would you know? You can stay with me, while I teach you more about earth."

"But, I don't have the time, crown prince Bethuliami, must be searching for the goddess now, since I spent a month in that portal."

"Don't worry, just do as I say. You can't go to a battle without a plan, right now, you relax, and make sure you don't tell anyone that you aren't from Earth, not even Rita, and try not to use your magic on earth. That's a very dangerous thing to do. "

"Alright." I said to Jane as she walked me to my room.

"What! Her, I can't spend the night with your daughter. We dislike the other, I might kill her."

"Isn't there any other place for me to sleep?"

"There is, it's just that it's the attic."

"Well, take me there."

"I don't think you'd like it." She said as she stared at me with a smile.

" I will, who said I wouldn't? As far as it isn't with your daughter."

"Alright." She said as we went up.

"Jeez, haven't we reached the Attic? I'm tired of this stair case."

"We're almost there. She said as we continued walking."

"Jeez, I can't breathe, this place smells so badly, why did you bring me here? I said as I struggled with my pyjamas."

"Behold your attic, we can clean it up."

"What! I'm never staying there."

"You see, you don't have an option. Nothing is gonna happen. Rita wouldn't bite you. I hope so."

"Now, can we leave?"

"Jeez, I'm tired of the stairs. You would have told me that the attic isn't nice."

"And would you have believe? Come on, we need to leave."

      RITA'S POV

The blaring sound of my alarm woke me. Gosh, I really hate that terrible sound, but I still got to prepare for work. I immediately got down from the bed, wore my flipflops and went to brush my teeth, I need to get to work early.

I went into the hot bath and relaxed, I can't wait for my promotion, I thought while I smiled widely. 

I was done bathing, and went into the room, when I met my room in a total mess, stuffs like this give me the creeps, there was no one here, what happened.

"Argh!" I screamed as I saw someone with my pyjamas lying on the bed. 

"Mum," I called, "mum, there is someone in my room, Mum."

"Hey! Can you stop screaming can't you see that I'm trying to sleep?" The lunatic girl of yesterday said to me.

"Argh!" I screamed again, this time around in fear. "What're you doing here? How did you get into my room, what're you doing with my pyjamas and where's Mum?

"Tccch...,how many questions at a time? Which will I answer huh?"

"You lunatic, it's obvious you scattered my room. Get out! Get out now, before I call the cops."

"Oh, cops, what's that I haven't heard of it." She said while laughing.

"What's going on here? I heard your scream."Mum said as I ran to hug her.

"The lunatic is in my room." I said as I looked at the direction of the mad girl.

"What!" I screamed in shock when I saw how innocent she looked on mum's arrival, in fact she was staring at us with puppy's eyes. 

"Mum, she scattered my room. What's she doing here."

"Rita dear, there is something I couldn't tell you last night, since it was late. She would be staying with us."

"What! Mum did I here you clearly? You don't know this girl from anywhere, you just met her last night and now you've taken her into our house. What pathetic story did she tell you?" I yelled in shock. How could mum do this to me.

"Tell me you're joking Mum."

"I'm not and she's gonna be staying with you."

"What! No mum, no. Don't make me hate you."

"Don't say that baby girl, you need to assist people who are in need, look at her, so innocent."

"No mum, she isn't, she's mental and needs to be treated."

"No, she isn't."

"Then, explain why a grown up girl would be moving round the town naked, and trying to strip off my clothes, asking naughty questions huh? I need an explanation to that."

"Honey, calm down. It isn't what you think, just open up your mind for her okay."

"Whatever mum. I can't still believe you did this." I said walking away.

      DAMATRIS POV

I watched her leave the room with her mum and immediately let out the laughter I was suppressing. I hardly sleep, I wonder why humans sleep a lot. I just sat and stared at her as she slept, when the annoying thing rang, I saw her stir and I knew she would soon wake up, immediately she opened her eyes, I made myself invincible cause I knew she wouldn't permit me to learn anything from her, I had planned to learn all earth stuffs from her. I watched her pull her pyjamas, and put a fancy stick in her mouth. What's that for? I wondered as I continued staring at her. She was done with whatever she was doing and then she went in to bathe, shower according to Mrs Jane.

Everything she did was so boring, so I decided to give her a welcome gift, when she comes out of the bathroom. 

I came out of the bathroom where I stood staring at her and broke the scary thing I saw on the wall, it was myself, I wondered how I got in, after that, I went ahead to break the annoying thing that rang. It was fun breaking things, so I continued, till I noticed her walk in.

Gosh, the look on her face made my day.
