It is past six in the evening when Ameira finishes her four jobs. She has different jobs.

Initially, at Aling Lordes' store which is a convenience store, second, at a fast-food chain as a dishwasher, third, as a sidewalk clothes seller, and fourth, as a dog sitter.

All her part-time jobs are in the same city, but on different streets where there are only a few rides or walks to get to them.

"One order of pares, please," she said to the man who owns Pares-Pares.

She sat in an empty seat and waited for her order. While waiting for her food, she swept her eyes over the place.

The lights at each stall are brightly colored, as are the lights in the shops and other structures that surround the entire Makati area. There was a commotion around like at a market.

"Here's your order," said the female waitress who was wearing a dress that she usually wears. They don't have a dress code or anything, unlike the other expensive restaurants.
