Chapter 6: Rings

-

Aaliyah and Antonio were currently in the car, driving to the restaurant, where the Greens were, Aaliyah had just finished reading his file, what she read was sad, his whole life was planned out for him.

"So when they ask you questions about me what will you say?"

"I already read your file." She didn't bother asking where he got it instead she asked.

"Do you like it?" He looked over to her.

"What?"

"The fancy restaurants, the paparazzi and women?" He shrugs.

"What's not to like?"

"So you wouldn't want to change it?"

"I grew up with all this it's hard to change my nature. Give me your hand." Her eyebrows furrowed, as confusion and curiosity filled her. She hesitantly gave him her hand.

He took a box from his pocket, opening it she a diamond ring. "Will you make me the happiest man on this planet and marry me, Aaliyah Davis?" She rolled her eyes, amused.

"You couldn't have chosen a better place to do this?" She asked jokingly.

"You want too much." He said smiling as he slipped the ring on her finger.

"I didn't say yes."

"You didn't say no either." She chuckles, looking at the ring.

"Is this real?" He gave her a look.

"Is that what you really think of your husband?" She shrugs. "Yes, it's real and very expensive, don't lose it, it's costume made." He told her.

"You give a woman that isn't even your real wife a costume ring."

"It's a family ring."

"That doesn't make it better."

"When we visit my parents next week, you'll need it." She froze.

"Wait you never said anything about me meeting your parents."

"They're going to be curious from the pictures." He states stepping out of the car, she followed behind him.

"What pictures?" Suddenly cameras lights were flashing.

"These, smile." He told her, hand going around her waist, pulling her to him, she forced a smile as they walked to the entrance of the restaurant.

"Mr Parker, who is this with you?"

"Is that a ring?"

"Are you married to this woman?" He ignored the questions as security stopped the paparazzi from coming to any clothes.

"You're an asshole." She whispered.

"I know."

"That's not something you should be proud of." She told him as she smiled at the receptionist from the other night.

"Mr Parker, your guest is already here, we moved your table in the corner, so the paparazzi won't be a bother." Antonio sent him a nod as a waitress lead them to the table.

"You should hire him, he's good."

"I was thinking the same, he would fit great as my assistant." He told her smiling, she scoffs.

"As if he could do better than me."

"You just said he's good." She met his eyes, with a soft smile.

"And I'm great." He chuckles.

"Is that so?" She laughs softly, just as they stopped in front of their table.

"Antonio, Aaliyah, you both look lovely tonight." Mrs Green told them, smiling as they took a seat.

"And you look gorgeous tonight," Antonio replied.

"You're ring looks fantastic dear where was it last time?" Mr Green told Aaliyah, Antonio was about to speak up but Aaliyah was quick.

"Well, I got it re-sized, it was slipping off my fingers since I lost weight."

"It looks brand new." Mrs Green states. Aaliyah nods, telling her.

"I got it polished."

"Enough about the ring let's talk business." Mr Green said, everyone nods, agreeing. "We want to know more about you both, so we're going to ask you a few questions."

"Ask away," Antonio told them.

"How did you both meet?" Aaliyah had read this in the file.

"We--" They both started, their eyes met.

"You can tell it." She told him, he smiles turning back to the couple.

"We met at a coffee shop, she spilt coffee on me, instead of being angry, I was mesmerized, by her beauty and smile, she was like an angel, pure as could be, and from then on, we began talking, a few months later, I'm proposing, to the love of my life." The couple smiled, loving the heartfelt story, Aaliyah found herself smiling as well, Antonio turned to her, with a smile. "I love you."

"I love you too." He kissed her cheek, she pushed away her shock as his soft lips met her cheek.

"You both were made for each other." Mrs Green said.

"Where do you work Aaliyah?"

"I'm working as his assistant." They raised their eyebrow. "My boss before him went abroad since he had already owned the company, she gave him to look over, while she was gone, it was a bit weird at first but we eventually got used to it." The couple now smiled.

"What do you both plan to do with our company?" Mr Green asked. This time Antonio spoke up.

"We don't plan to change a lot, we just want to take a modern approach with the costumers. I think that would bring in more buyers."

"What about our old customers?" Mrs Green asked Aaliyah spoke up.

"We will keep the same things, that were there before, two sections will separate the two." The couple nods.

"I like that idea, what do you think honey?" Mr Green asked.

"I like it too, we will have to cut this short, we have a flight to catch in a few minutes, we hope to discuss more at a later date." The couple got up, so did Aaliyah and Antonio, they shook each other hands.

"It was nice to see you both again," Aaliyah told them, they smiled.

"Likewise. I'm sorry about the paparazzi we have no idea how they knew where we were meeting up." Aaliyah knew how Antonio smiled.

"It's beyond us as well, I do hope you both enjoy the rest of your day," Antonio said, they waved as they walked out of the restaurant.

Aaliyah and Antonio took back a seat. "That was easy." She states.

"It was. Hungry?" He asked, calling over the waiter.

"Starving." He smiled.
