The whole day went by in a blur. People came an went. Everyone was fussing over Aiden. I had attempted to reach out to him, but Ivy blocked me all the time.

There was a time I screamed at her out of frustration, and it was the scene Aiden accidentally witnessed. If course, he didn't like it .

So, instead of letting me speak with him, he took his stepmother, who kept pretending I was the mean one, and they left the house. I had no idea where they went to, and no matter who I asked around, no one could tell me .

So I didn't get any sleep at all. I watched the clock tick, and the morning it hit six in the morning, I was already up and began managing the housemaids in the kitchen, hoping Aiden would he back for breakfast.

Breakfast came and went, and there was still no sign of him.

After eating, I went to my office and called the central hall to check if he went there, as he would usually do during working days. But he didn't. They were actually surprised to see he has woken up.

So, up to this moment, I had no idea where he was, and I couldn't reach Magnus, who went home after Aiden and Ivy left the house yesterday.

I was pacing back and forth, contemplating my next move, when I heard the sound of an approaching car.

I walked toward the window and peered outside. My office window was facing the parking lot, so I saw Ivy's car driving in her assigned parking space.

My heart began thudding loudly as if it would jump out of my chest. I didn't like it. It felt like an omen that something terrible was about to happen.

Ivy excited the car and was followed by another man, but not Aiden. It was Mr Sterling, Aiden's attorney and legal adviser.

What is he doing here? And where is Aiden?

Goosebumps rose from the skin at the thoughts that flooded my head. I tried to shake it off when I heard another sound of an approaching car.

It took a while before Magnus's car came into view, and the moment the backseat door opened, I already knew why I was feeling agitated. Aiden got out of the first before he laid out his hand to someone.

And I was right, she was here.

Emmaline placed her hand on his, and soon they were holding hands. I didn't see anymore because a knock came through the door. I turned away from the window and walked back to my table.

My heart was breaking, but I couldn't let them see that. I cleared my throat before allowing the person outside.

Ivy entered my office, followed by Mr. Sterling.

“ Is there anything I can do for you?” I asked as I eased back in my chair.

“ You need to sign this document so we can move forward,” Ivy said as she strutted toward me and dropped a clear folder on my table.

My gaze slowly shifted from her to the document in front of me. I didn't need to open it. I could clearly see what's inside the paper.

Divorce papers.

“ Sign it,” she said arrogantly.

“ No,” I said firmly.

“ Aiden wants a divorce.”

“ He's the one who wants to divorce, then he should be the one asking for it. He's not a baby anymore that needs his nanny to do things for him.”

Ivy hissed as her eyes narrowed. “ Look at me. You have grown horns in just over a year. Aiden no longer wants you…”

“ Aiden doesn't remember me, but it doesn't mean he doesn't want me,” I told her in the same arrogant voice she was using, even if I didn't believe my own words.

“ Really? We'll, if I don't I know who he spent the night with, let me tell you. He was with Emmaline, and they were excited to h with each other. You could only imagine what they had together.”

“ Really? I didn't know Aiden and Emmaline would stoop so low and cheat on me when everyone in the pack knows he's still married to me.” I told her sarcastically, masking my pain at the thought of them being intimate.

Her palms slammed against the desk as she glared at me. Sign the damn paper, Aria. Do not piss me off!”

I grabbed the folder and rose from my seat before heading toward the door, ignoring her words.

“Where are you going,” she asked.

“ To my dear husband. I want to know what he's been up to.”

I could still hear Ivy talking, but I had already walked out of the office and shut the door. I prepared myself for the worst because I knew Emmaline was with Aiden.

But even if I did my best, I still came unprepared when I came into his office and found Emmaline sitting on his lap, talking to him in her angelic voice— the exact opposite of her attitude.

This was not my first encounter with her. A few weeks after my wedding, I bumped into her a number of times, and in every instance, she attempted to harass me in public by calling me names.

“ I want to speak with my husband,” I said in a cold tone, their heads snapped to look at me .

“ Don't you know how to knock?” Emmaline asked in a mocking voice.

“ Don't you know how to be decent? You're worried about me invading my husband's office when you should be checking yourself because you're sitting on his lap.”

“ Aria….” It was Aiden. He didn't say anything to her, but he must have motioned for her to stand up because she lazily got up from him.

“ Tell her to leave. I want to discuss things with you.”

Aiden took a deep breath and looked at Emmaline. They stared at each other for a while before she nodded his head.

Emmaline pouted, her shoulders slumping, but I knew it was all for the act. I didn't move until she was out of the office. After her, I closed the door and walked toward Aiden's table, sliding the folder onto him.

“ So you want a divorce,” I stated. I was trying my best to keep my voice from breaking.

The audacity of her to scream that to my face when she did the same thing, and she did way worse than I did.I immediately cut my laughter short, and a scowl formed on myself. “ I lied about being an Alpha to avoid women clinging to me as if I were a jackpot prize, while you lied because you wanted to cheat on Aiden!”In seconds she was already standing in front of my desk. Her hands slammed on the oak table as her eyes dilated. “ Do not judge me when you've never been in my shoes!”My nose flared. I abruptly pushed the chair back and stood up, resting my hands on the desk before leaning my face closer to her. “ Trust me. I never want to be in a whore’s shoes.”Everything happened so fast after that, and before I could react or do something, her small hand had already landed on my jaw and made my head swing to the right.I wasn't expecting that. And it stung.“ I'm not a whore! Take back

But I had no regrets. Why the fuck do I helped them or Aiden in particular? No, not because of Vanessa or Emmaline, whoever the fuck she is, especially since I could tell Aiden was smitten by his own wife or ex-wife.The desire to help him was primarily motivated my guilt because he saved my stupid ass, and it cost his mother's

He wanted to see the results with me, but he was taking too long to get here, and the results were ready. The line at the counter might be long, so I had to check this on my own.My hand trembled as I raised the test stick in my hand. One line.I was wrong. I didn't want to prolong the suspense for him.

I kept looking back, checking if anyone was following us, but everything seemed normal so far.“ You can sleep,” Aiden told me.“ I'm not feeling that sleepy anymore. I will rest once we transfer to another car. I'm not comfortable here.”He simply nodded his head and continued driving. Aiden called someone after his call with Rasmus, and we got confirmation for a new car we could use once we reached that place. And from there, it would just be a couple of hours before we reached the North. It was noon, and my stomach was churning from hunger, but I didn't say anything. I wanted a new car first. So when we finally reached the car dealer building, Aiden wasted no time and grabbed the key, and we were already on our way out.He was holding my hand, and we were walking to the big parking lot where they pointed when my head suddenly felt light, and I almost stumbled if Aiden was not able to hold

Alpha Aiden's POV.“ I love you, Aiden.” Aria's voice came out soft, but I was sure I heard it.My foot stepped on the brakes and the car came to a sudden halt, making our bodies jolt forward.“ I'm sorry,” she gasped as her hands held onto the dashboard before her as if it could stop her from slamming there, but she had a seatbelt on, so I knew she was safely tucked in her seat.“ Did you just say what I heard you say?” I asked, ignoring the apology that came out of her lips because I had no idea what she was apologizing for.“ We'll….” She stammered, then she flashed me an embarrassed smile. “ You said it first.”“ I said. So you think…” A smile tugged at my mouth, but my eyes were watering. “..... It was appropriate and polite to say it back?”I couldn't contain the happiness in my chest.I had always been a storm, and Aria was definitely sunshine. It was easy to love her, but I felt good and exhilarated knowing this little ball of sunshine and butterflies had fallen in love with m

And Aiden saw that.He kept looking at me as he spoke back to him. “ Over my dead body, fucker. Stay in your line, or hide.
