“ So you want a divorce,” I stated. I was trying my best to keep my voice from breaking.

“ Aria, I have a finacee.” He said in a calm tone.

“ You had a finacee a year ago, but you have a wife now.”

“ I can't remember anything about you, and I am sure it's Emmaline that I want, not anyone else.”

“ Did you forget what she did to you?” I asked.

Instead of answering my question, he threw one back to me. “ Tell me, did I love you? Are we together because we are in love?”

I swallowed. I could lie and tell him we were, but lying was not part of our relationship. We had always been honest to each other.

“ No,” I answered, keeping my head high.

“ Thank you for your honesty. So are we together for convenience? Or what? But it doesn't matter anymore. Whatever reason brought us into this marriage, let's forget about it. I want a divorce, Aria. I never wanted to marry anyone I didn't love. It was not how I grew up . I had always envisioned Emmaline as my Luna.”

His words were to painful to bear. He was still obviously in love with her.

I nodded my head as I did my best to stop my tears from falling. There was no use telling him I loved him. I would only make a fool of myself.

“ So this is what I get after pulling me out from my simple life and drag me to yours. Now, that you have no need for me, I will just be discarded as if I were just a piece of trash.”

“ You will be compensated for your time.”

He was surely insulting me. “ I don't need your money.”

He didn't say anything, but his jaw kept twitching.

“ What did she promise you this time? Maybe I can counter it.”

“ Aria, let Emmaline out of this. This is between you and me.”

“ Of course, this is certainly about her.” I took a deep breath before I continued. “ You disappoint me, Aiden. I had always thought about highly of you, but this game you're playing is not amusing anymore.”

He didn't say anything, but his forehead creased.

“ Do you think I didn't feel that you suddenly become cold when Emmaline came back to the territory? You became unavailable for me . You were always out of the house and not on the central office either. I didn't even know where you were most of the time. And then the next thing I knew, you were in coma. Now you woke up with no memory of me. Just me,” my tears finally fell, but I wiped them with the back of my hands as I met his stare. “ Just tell me if you don't want me anymore. Stop playing me for a fool.”

“ Aria….”

I dropped my gaze from him and grabbed the folder. I opened it and took the pen that was l lying on his desk. My hand was shaking while I signed the divorce paper.

After signing, I closed my eyes for a brief second to stop more years from coming before I faced him again.

“ I, Aria Langley Daeyra, reject you, Alpha Aiden Daeyra, as my mate.” My body jolted slightly, and pain hit my chest.

A low growl escaped from his throat as his hand went to his torso. It was the person being rejected who gets most of the pain.

This was the only pain o could give him, but I was sure it was nothing compared to the pain of my broken heart.

My hands balled into tight fists as I tried to steady my self. I closed my eyes before I continued with the process. “ And effective today, I am stepping down as your Luna and the Luna of the SilverMist Pack.”

I waited for him to accept the rejection, but he didn't say anything. I slowly opened my eyes and saw him looking at me .

“ End my pain, Aiden….” I said in a low voice.

His jaw tightened, and there were many things flitting in his eyes, but my senses were already clouded with pain that I didn't bother to read his emotions anymore. “ Accept my rejection, Alpha Aiden.”

“ I, Alpha Aiden Daeyra, accept your rejection, Aria Langley. You are no longer my Luna and no longer the Luna of SilverMist Pack…” He spoke his words softly, but it was echoing in my head.

I dropped my gaze from him before he could see the tears. The bond was breaking, and it was taking too much of me not to fall on my knees.

I turned away from him and walked toward the door, trying my best not to falter my steps. I held the handle but didn't turn it. Instead, I spoke without looking at him. “

You met me in the river while I was trying to catch fish for dinner. On that same night, you asked me to be your Luna because you found Emmaline in bed without another man. I saved you from her, and you saved me from hunger.”

I opened the door before I continued speaking. “ Thank you for the one year, Alpha Aiden.”

I didn't wait for him to acknowledge my words. I left his office and let my tears roll down my cheek.

A part of me regretted signing the divorce papers and rejecting him, but there was only so much a person could take. Even before he lost his memory of me, I already felt him slipping away. Maybe he realised he still wanted her, and I was on the way—that I needed to go.

I didn't want to stay where I was not wanted, especially by the person I thought was on my side. Maybe Ivy was right—it was time to move on.

This was the end of Aiden and me.

  • ARIA; THE FORGOTTEN LUNA     THE END

Aria's POV The sun was fully over the horizon when we finally walked out from behind the waterfall. Aiden carried our son tucked against his bare chest, wrapped in his leather cloak. I leaned heavily on my father, the King, and my mother, Kira. My legs felt like jelly, and every step was a struggle, but the heavy, pulling pain in my gut was gone. Aiden stopped by the edge of the river. He looked down at the baby, and then at me. His gray eyes were clear now, the fog from the spell completely washed away. "He looks like you when he frowns," Aiden said. A small, tired smile pulled at his lips. "He has your nose," I replied, reaching out to touch the baby’s tiny, sleeping face. "And your stubbornness. He didn't want to wait for a bed." My father cleared his throat. He looked at the three of us, his hand still resting on his sword hilt. The gold on his armor was dented and scratched. He looked less like a king and more like a man who had just realized he had almost lost

Aria's POVThe ride to the Hidden Temple was a blur of pain and the smell of wet fur.Aiden had shifted into his large wolf form so I could ride on his back, my arms wrapped tight around his thick neck.Every time his paws hit the uneven ground, a new bolt of agony shot through my hips. My dress was ruined, dark with the blood that wouldn't stop leaking out of me. Behind us, I could hear the clatter of the King’s horses and the occasional sizzle of Kira’s magic as she threw sparks at the shadows following us.The sky above the valley was no longer just black. It was thick with swirling purple clouds, and lightning the color of a bruised plum cracked across the horizon. The air tasted like copper and ozone."We’re here, Aria!" Kira shouted over the wind.Aiden slowed down as we reached a tall stone archway hidden behind a waterfall. He moved through the curtain of water, his fur getting soaked, and stepped into a massive cavern lit by glowing blue crystals. In the center of the cave sa

Aria's POV"Damien?" Kira whispered. She was standing right next to me, her hand gripping my arm so hard her nails were digging into my skin. "Ivy’s son? I thought he was just a story."The wolf didn't answer with words. It let out a sound that was half-growl and half-laugh. It was Damien, alright. Ivy had kept him hidden for years, and now he was here to finish what the Shadow Council started. He lunged forward, his paws cracking the stone tiles like they were made of thin glass.Aiden didn't even hesitate. He stepped in front of me, his chest bare and his muscles bulging. He still looked confused, and I knew his memories were a mess, but his instinct to protect me was stronger than the spell in his brain."Get back, Aria!" Aiden shouted. He didn't have a weapon, but he lowered his shoulder and ran straight at the giant wolf."Aiden, no!" I screamed. They collided with a thud that I felt in the soles of my feet. Aiden was strong, but Damien was powered by something evil. The dark wol

Aria's POV"Aiden! No, please stay with me!" I sobbed.I felt the silver heat in my chest move down my arms. It was hot, like I was holding a bowl of boiling water. My palms started to glow, and the light wasn't soft this time. It was sharp and bright.I pressed my hands against his chest, and the silver light poured out of me. It covered Aiden like a blanket, soaking into his skin and chasing the purple smoke away. I kept pushing until my head felt light and my vision went fuzzy at the edges.Aiden gasped and his eyes snapped open. He sat up fast, nearly knocking me over. He looked around the garden with a confused look on his face. He looked at Kira, then at the burning palace, and finally at me."Aria?" he whispered. He reached out and touched my cheek, but his hand was shaking. "I know you. You're my wife. But... why are we in the dirt? Where is the pack?""He's confused," Kira said, stepping closer. She looked at the sky, which was still a sickly black color. "The spell ate part

Alpha Aiden's POVI ran up the back stairs, my claws clicking against the floor.I reached the library just as the bookshelf moved. Two men in black cloaks were trying to hack through the small door behind it. I didn't waste time talking.I lunged, my weight slamming into the first man and sending him flying into a pile of heavy history books. The second one tried to turn, but I caught his throat and tossed him aside like a piece of trash.I kicked the remaining wood of the door inward."Aiden!" Aria’s voice was a ragged sob.I shifted back to my human form, though I didn't have any clothes left on my upper body. I didn't care. I scrambled into the small, dusty room. Aria was on the cot, her face covered in sweat and her hair sticking to her forehead. Kira was standing over her, holding a small silver dagger.I pulled Aria into my arms, being careful of her large stomach. She felt hot, and her heart was beating as fast as a drum against my chest. I kissed her forehead, tasting the sal
