Sienna

I stared down at the ring on my finger and took a deep breath. My lips were sore from biting them raw. This was it. I had to do this. Marrying into wealth was my only option.

Call me a gold digger if you like, but you wouldn’t understand, even if I tried to explain. Marrying a man with money was my only way out—my family’s only way out.

As a little girl, I dreamed of a perfect wedding with the man of my dreams. I never imagined it would end like this. Marrying for money—something I had always despised—was exactly what I was doing. No one wants to marry a beast, but what choice did I have? I had none.

I glanced at my new husband. He took another sip of wine, his hand clenched into a tight fist. He barely looked at me. Even our kiss at the altar had been cold, clinical, and far too brief.

This was the worst, yet somehow the best, decision I had ever made. I watched him out of the corner of my eye: his dark hair, piercing light brown eyes, and the sharp line of his mouth. He was tall, well over six feet, with a lean, muscular build.

I looked over at my mother and her boyfriend. They were wearing small, triumphant smirks. They had finally gotten what they wanted—one of her children married off to a billionaire so they would never have to work another day in their lives. My brother, however, was furious. He hated that I had taken such a drastic step for our mother’s sake. I suppose he’s the only one who actually cares about me.

The room was filled with the elite—top models, powerful businessmen, and even the Prime Minister. I was the only "low-ranking" guest at my own wedding. I could hear their whispers cutting through the music:

“How could he marry a girl like that? ”"Ugh… look at her.” “All that jewelry can’t hide her commoner roots.”

Suddenly, Sebastian leaned over, cupped my face, and kissed me. I felt the sheer tension as our lips met. I wanted it to be over—but at the same time, I didn't. Because once the party ended, I would have to submit to this stranger. And that was terrifying.

There would be no honeymoon, but I knew what he expected. Typical man. I felt a sharp pang of grief for the life I wanted. My dreams of becoming a fashion designer were gone. Now, I was just a trophy housewife.

I should have run when I had the chance.

Two Hours Later

I followed Sebastian into the master bedroom. Rose petals covered the floor and the bed, a romantic setup that felt like a mockery. I swallowed hard, knowing my "duty." I walked toward him and slowly began to undress.

He looked startled, stepping back with a scowl. “What are you doing, woman?! ”

“I… I’m giving myself to you,” I said, my voice trembling as I cleared my throat. “As… as your wife.”

He let out a sharp, cruel laugh. Then his expression turned ice-cold. He stepped forward, grabbing my chin and forcing me to look up at him.

“You’re nothing but a low-rent gold digger,” he hissed. “Being with you would be like lying down with a stray dog—and I don’t do dogs.” He chuckled darkly and shoved me away. “I’m sick of women like you, chasing bank accounts. I curse the day I met you! You will never step foot in this room again. Ever. Every night, I’ll bring a different woman here, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

He pressed a finger firmly against my forehead.

“And don’t you dare bring another man into my house. If I’m on the left, you stay on the right. I don’t want you anywhere near me. When my friends visit, stay in your room and mind your business like the child you are. You made a mistake marrying me, Sienna. I am a dragon—I’ll breathe fire down your neck. I’m a lion—I’ll tear you apart. I plan on ruining your life.”

He shoved past me and flung the door open. “Alessia! Alessia! ” he barked.

Within a minute, a woman in her late forties appeared. She wore a crisp maid’s uniform, her hair pulled back into a tight ponytail.

“Hello, Mrs. Sterling—”

“Don’t call her that! ” Sebastian snapped. “Take this woman to the guest room.”

“But sir, she’s your—”

“Unless you want to be unemployed by morning, do as I say! It’s not hard to find another maid! ”

Alessia nodded quickly and signaled for me to follow. She led me down a long hallway to a room that was enormous, though smaller than his.

“Just let me know if you need anything, Mrs. Sterling,” she whispered kindly.

“Please… just call me Sienna,” I replied.

She nodded and slipped out. I closed the door and sank to the floor. My life had always been a mess, but the hope of ever being loved was officially dead. I was stuck with a beast.

When the first tear fell, the rest followed like a storm. My life. My dreams. Everything was ruined. Because of him.

Sebastian

I felt a twinge of guilt for how I’d snapped at Alessia. She had worked for me for seven years and was nothing but loyal. But right now, I was livid.

I grabbed several bottles of wine from the kitchen and retreated to my room. I needed to drink that woman out of my system.

Marriage was never the plan. I loathed the idea of commitment. Spending forever with one person seemed idiotic, and I didn't intend to start now. I had no feelings for Sienna—and I never would. Beyond maintaining a public image of a "happy couple," I wanted nothing to do with her. She wasn't my type, and she never would be.

I should have fought harder against this. But my mother had threatened me, as she always does. She gave me that tired speech about how she loves me and how I need to stop being a "man-whore" for the sake of the family name.

Apparently, marrying a gold digger was her idea of a solution.

I slammed my door and threw myself onto the bed, clicking on the TV. Our wedding was already the top headline; pundits were already placing bets on how long we’d last.

If I had refused, my mother would have ruined me. She claims to care, but she only cares about appearances. She was tired of me being photographed with different women every week.

It’s my damn life.

If that incident years ago hadn't happened, she wouldn't have any leverage over me. But she has the proof, and I'm trapped. I reached for my phone to call one of my usual girls, then stopped. The paparazzi were likely circling the house like vultures.

I am tormented. I am frustrated. And I am going to make sure she regrets ever saying "I do."

Today, every step I take as I walk along the hospital corridor feels heavy. I just made a phone call to somewhere far away. Somewhere I will be. Soon.It has been three days since I received the first phone call from them, and I've made up my mind.I halt in front of the room, peeking through the glass of the door. Inside, I see Sebastian, sitting on the bed.My throat hurts so much. Tears pool in my eyes.I'm starting to doubt myself again, wondering whether I have enough strength to do this.To leave him.Right now. While he's still lying in the hospital, wounded because of me. It's incredibly cruel that what I'm going to do next will only add more pain to his wounds, making them even worse.I move away from the door and lean back against the wall. I can't do this. But I have to. For myself. For him. For us.Tears escape my eyes and roll down my cheeks. It hurts so much. It hurts me to the core that I have to leave him. I wish I could spend more time with him, even just for one more

Here is the revised chapter with all the requested name changes applied. The grammar, sentence structure, and flow have been carefully polished while preserving the emotional intensity, intimate tone, and present-tense point of view.I can't believe what I'm seeing. Is this real? Because if this is all just a dream, I never want to wake up.Sebastian tries to move his fingers again, but he's still incredibly weak. I stroke his hand gently, a soft smile touching my lips as tears brim in my eyes."You—you woke up," I whisper. He gazes at me, his eyes intense. "I had a dream," he rasps, his voice just as weak as his stare. "And in it, you called out to me. Many times."I brush my fingers across his cheek. A tear gathers in the corner of his eye, and I wipe it away as it escapes. "I've been thinking..." he pauses, his voice hoarse. "What if you haven't forgiven me? I couldn't just go away and leave you like that, could I?”My lips tremble, and I choke on a sob. He stares at me, his eyes be

I'm driving to my office when I hear my phone ringing on the dashboard. A smile tugs at my lips when I see the caller. Fiona. I press the speaker button, and her voice fills the air."Morning, Edward."I almost bite my tongue to stop myself from saying the next words, but to hell with it—I decide to take a chance. "Morning, beautiful."I know she won't take it the way other girls normally would. Still, a smirk curves my lips."Did you hit your head or something?" she asks, and I can practically see her rolling her eyes. "Easy there, Casanova."I chuckle. What a perfect way to start the morning. Our banter. Suddenly, all the tension of the morning rush disappears just from hearing her voice.I like Fiona. People might think that's bullshit since I always like girls—when do I not? My reputation as a player has definitely reached her. But what I mean is that I really like Fiona. I'm taking things slowly and carefully because, as far as I know, she isn't ready to label us as anything more

I can't believe I let him hold me again when I broke down. I must admit that having him here puts my heart at ease while Damien is on the run.I watch as he sits at the desk in the guest bedroom, opening his laptop, while I prepare breakfast. I don't know if he’s already eaten, but there’s no harm in preparing food for him, too. I hear him talking to someone on the phone about academic projects. It’s too early for that—it must be something urgent. Then I remember he’s supposed to start his internship at the oil company—the one I visited when I brought him his notebook. He told me it would start three months after he passed his interview, which is right around this month. Is he postponing the start date? Because of me?My heart sinks as I think about the circumstances. I’ve been right all along: our futures don't align. I’ll only be a hindrance, a burden to his bright path.I’m so occupied by these thoughts while scrambling eggs that I don’t realize he’s stepped out of the guest bedroom

SiennaThe thought of Edward purchasing a gun bothered me the entire night, but I decided not to question him about it again. I keep wondering why he suddenly felt the need to carry one. We’ve been living in California for two weeks, and so far, everything has been fine. This morning, he left for work as usual. While I am finishing blow-drying my hair in the bathroom, I hear footsteps downstairs. My heart thumps hard against my chest. Ever since the incident with Julian breaking into our house in England, the smallest sound or the slightest movement makes me feel paranoid again. I’m sure Edward locked the door, so if it wasn't him, who else could have entered?Slowly, I step out of my room and head downstairs, almost tiptoeing to avoid making any noise. My pulse quickens as I reach the ground floor. When I see the person standing in the living room, I yelp in surprise. My eyes widen: it’s Sebastian. While seeing him definitely washes away my fear that a total stranger broke in, it doe

Cheska The moment I close the door behind me, my sobs finally break. I’ve never thought that I would say those words to him, but I had to. We can’t be together anymore. I’ve promised myself that I’m going to forget everything about my painful past, about him. I need to be strong, and I can only be so without him. I’ve planned my future, and he won’t be in the picture. Our future doesn’t work together. Mine will destroy his. Drake leans back against the wall, his arms crossed on his chest, his eyes closed. He has heard everything as well. When he turns to me and walks closer to hug me, I bury my face in his chest and cry my eyes out, hugging him back. I can’t bear the pain anymore. Hurting Prince breaks my own heart, worse than when he broke mine. He came all the way here for me. He waited for days, standing on the street outside. He still waited for me even when the rain had been pouring hard on him. He was crying when he said that he loved me. But then, I just crushed him with m

Cheska Morning has come. The clock on the wall indicates 7 AM. And I still haven’t got any sleep at all. How could I? With Andrew curling behind me, caging me.
