Emmanuel and I had embarked on a fresh start as planned. We were in the process of getting to know each other better, he treated me like a princess, did the most romantic things, acted like a perfect gentleman I’ll and we hadn't even had one kiss yet, I was taking it really slow.

The midterms were over and it'd been one hell of an awkward one. Junior refused to come home so he spent his midterm break at grandma's place. Speaking of grandmas, I never grew up with one, we never knew each other. I had asked my mum once and she said it in plain, emotionless words that my grandma 'didn't want to meet me'. I sighed as I pushed the thought to the back of my mind. Her loss, not mine.Occasionally bumping into Rose was the main motive behind me calling my break 'awkward'. I don't think I'd ever be able to forget what I saw.School had resumed and the ss2 students had become a shadow of themselves, they were more respectful, neat, quiet and even acted more mature. The boys prostrated lower than before when greeting teachers while girls almost grazed their knees with the floors, like they were greeting their in-laws. Days rolled into weeks and time flew by, exams were around the corner. The classrooms of Belleview were getting more silent by the day, whilst the library received its august visitors.The prefect-ship craze wasn't the hot topic anymore, most students had even forgotten about it while some were still trying to be noticed and we the nominees became more cautious alongside studying hard."Hey baby." Nuel waltzed into my classroom. I was the only one in class, it was break period and most of us were in the cafeteria while other were littered around school in their various quiet spots."Hey love." I replied as I dropped my pencil on the opened book in front of me."Why didn't you go for the break?" It'd been one hell of a week for me and probably, my cousins too.
