ONE

The night was quiet and dark, and the sounds of the cricket covered the air, the chill breeze found its way into Aurora's chambers, making her uncomfortable, and curling herself in the sheets.

It was three in the morning when the door to her chambers opened, and Liam stepped in. He dressed in a white long robe, and pants as he approached her, he had no shirt on, and restless and unable to sleep, he decided to visit his soon-to-be bride. In his hands, he held a glass of liquor with him, and the moonlight gave him a view. He stared at the sleeping bride on the bed, she looked so peaceful and charming, he assumed as she didn't move an inch.

He walked to the window, staring and enjoying the view of his kingdom, while she slept quietly, he would sip his drink gently trying his best not to alarm her.

Aurora rolled over, having a long stretch, and gently her eyes opened, something had caught her attention, a figure standing by her window, from what she could see it seemed like a man... He had shoulder-length dark hair, although she couldn't see well, he looked ridiculously sexy.

"Who are you?" Her raspy voice sounded throughout the room, Liam breathed, refusing to turn over.

Aurora quickly reaches for her bedside lamp, about to turn it off, she remembered the maid saying, His Majesty would come over to see her at night, her heart skipped immediately. He was really here, she thought. She didn't hesitate to turn on the lights.

As soon as the lights go on, Liam drops the glass on the table, and she gasped, frightened.

"Please?" She said, having no idea, why she had just said that.

"I am not hurting you" his deep voice echoed throughout the room, Aurora gulped.

She nodded subconsciously, and he turned over, Liam had a clear glass on and the frame shined in the dim lights, Aurora breathed calmly, triggered by his hotness.

She scanned him, and her mouth watered staring at his head to toe. Liam had a hand buried in his pocket, no shirts, she immediately blinked away, words escaped her lips. "Why sexy?" She said, never meeting eye contact with him.

"Sexy?" Again his deep voice followed, Aurora sighed softly, embarrassed.

Liam leaned forward, sitting beside the bed, Without hesitation, his hands touched her neck slightly, earning a shock from Aurora.

"What's wrong?" He asked, as much as she wanted to scream she couldn't, not because it was late, but because the man beside her smelt is so good, and looked it.

"Nothing?" She immediately tried getting up, but Liam catches her wrist, pulling her back to his body, his hands pinned her down against the wall, and her breath ragged as he reached closer.

"I-?" He tried speaking, but Aurora's chest moved up and down, as she tried to control her breath. He looked at her and she had her head in the other direction, she wasn't yelling, she was rejecting him either. His breath fanned against her ears, Liam inhaled deeply, and scrutinized her neckline down to her breast, she smelt so nice like a fresh lavender scent. "You should keep that," he whispered. She had no idea what he meant by that, but she wasn't going to look him in the eyes.

"Look at me," He said, hotly, slowly she turned to him, and immediately, Liam's lips pressed against hers, swallowing her gasp and moans. He held her just as she needed to be held, her legs tightened from his hands resting on her lower waist, and his soft lips pulling against hers. Liam let go of her lips and his lips trailed down her neck while he slowly moved backwards together, heading to the bed. His hands slowly move from her waist to her butt.

Aurora's hands moved up his chest, gripping his shoulders, she wasn't sure if this was His Majesty yet, but she let this strange man touch her and kiss her. What if she could be penalized for it, was this a test? Her heart trembled at the thought of this. Immediately her eyes opened, and she slowly pushed him back, dropping onto the bed.

"Who are you?" She questioned, He stood there staring and eventually he picked up his glass, and headed out of the room, she wasn't going to make a noise, what if he wasn't King? She quietly watched him leave.

THE DAY OF THE WEDDING...

"Long live the King and Queen!"

Aurora sat down beside her new husband, impressed by the tradition she never knew, the crowd was so beautiful, in different colours and attires. Women danced and the others excitedly watched, some jugglers performed excitedly. The dramas they also displayed made her fully entertained.

Then the knights of Nuland performed their skills, having a tournament that made her heart skip at the dangerous move they made. After each fight, a knight would walk up to the King and his new Queen, with a flower in their hand, passing it to the maids who sent it over to the Queen. Aurora gathered some impressed and flushed by the ways of this King.

The evening was coming to an end, and the crowd had reduced. Aurora could now tell, she could either be spending the night with the King or making a run for it again.

She quickly side-glanced at him, and he had no smile on and sat expressionlessly. She quickly blinked away.

"I hope you enjoyed it," He said, Aurora turned to him, and he didn't even stare at her. Nervously she looked away without an answer.

She inhaled sharply, reclining on the chair.

"My Lord, my Queen," the old maid said, Aurora sat up, staring at her, was it time to go now? She pounded.

She turned to her and bowed, "My Queen," Aurora eyed her, hoping she wasn't going to say something irritating.

"What?" Aurora gawked at her. The maid turned to the King, he didn't seem to mind them, and she bowed nevertheless. Aurora not noticing what was wrong and replied, this time more aggressively and unthoughtful "What?" She glared at her.

"You- you need to leave now, for the main Palace," she replied, just like she had thought, Aurora's heart cried.

"The main palace?" She asked, raising her brows and tilting her head in her direction. Liam looked at her, stunned that she didn't know the palace was divided, even a toddler would know.

"What has she been doing with her life?" he whispered, making sure he wasn't heard.

"The palace is divided? Why?" She questioned, once again, his eyes caught her and he shook his head in disbelief.

"Your Highness," the maid called, frustrated with her questions.

Aurora reclined, blinking, she took a deep breath and turned to the King, he stared back.

"Okay," She nodded. Aurora suddenly raised her dress, standing.

"Oh my goodness," the maid, covered her lips, rushing to her, helping her take them down, but Aurora shrugged her off, "My Queen, you shouldn't," she said.

"Shouldn't what?" She said, looking down at her.

"Raise your gown that way, it's inappropriate for a royal," she explained in pain.

Aurora look around, but nobody seemed to care, she rolled her eyes, and angrily she had to take her advice. She looked at the other ladies behind her and noticed Sania wasn't with them.

"Where's the maid?" She asked.

"What maid?" The woman replied, Aurora sighed. She had totally forgotten her name, thinking hard, she glanced at them speechlessly.

"Ah!" She clapped her hands, "the Blondie!" She yelled, Sania she referred, and fortunately for her, Sania was the only maid with blond.

"Sania?" The woman asked,

"That's right! Sani" she replied, nodding.

"Sania, My Queen, is a lowly maid, her work is not in the palace," she said.

Hearing this, Aurora scoffed, and replied, "And you think my work is in the palace?" She said, nonchalantly.

"My Queen," the woman said, Aurora looked behind her and gulped, she had forgotten the King was sitting behind her.

Looking away, she cleared her throat and inhaled deeply, "I want her back" she said.

"Your highness... It's impossible" she replied. As they walked out of the venue to the black car parked outside.

Aurora got into the car, and looked at her, the woman still tried to explain herself, which was useless.

"Am I Queen or you are?" She found herself saying. For a second, she couldn't believe what she had just said, hours ago, she didn't want to be Queen.

"I will do so, immediately," She said.

Looking around, the car was empty, and she was going to be the only one riding this car. "Ain't you coming with me?" She asked.

"I am right behind, Your Highness" she replied, Aurora nodded, and reclined on the leather seat, the door closed after.
