Selena pov

I pulled the blanket away from my body, ready to get out of bed, when something strange caught my attention.

A silver mark resembling a flower had appeared on the back of my left hand.

I frowned and rubbed it, but the mark didn't disappear. Curious, I pressed my finger against its center, and a strange sensation rushed through my mind.

The next moment, an enormous white space appeared before my eyes. I gasped.

It looked like a warehouse without walls, windows, or doors, with a smooth white floor stretching endlessly into the distance. Yet, I could somehow sense that I was looking at a space that belonged to me.

More importantly, I knew I could put things inside it. I glanced at the bedside lamp, reached for it, and concentrated on the strange space.

The lamp vanished. “Where did it go?” I exclaimed, scrambling off the bed to search the floor.

When I couldn't find it, I closed my eyes and tried to summon it back. The lamp immediately appeared in my hands, leaving me staring at it in disbelief.

“Oh, my God! I actually have a dimensional space!”

I tested it with a book, a pillow, and a glass of water, storing each item and retrieving it without difficulty. Everything remained exactly as I had left it, and the space inside my mind seemed so enormous that I couldn't even imagine filling it.

A smile spread across my face. This was exactly what I needed to survive the apocalypse.

I could store food, medicine, clothing, and other necessities without worrying about space or thieves. I could carry enough supplies to survive for months without anyone knowing what I possessed.

For the first time since returning from death, I felt genuinely hopeful.

Then my phone rang. Mark's name appeared on the screen, and my smile disappeared.

I answered the call without bothering to greet him.

“Selena, where is the money?” he demanded. “I told you some minutes ago that I needed it now, but nothing has entered my account. What exactly are you doing?”

I looked at the mark on my hand and wondered how I had once allowed this man to control every part of my life.

“Mark, we need a divorce,” I said calmly. Silence followed my statement.

Then he laughed as though I had just told him the funniest joke in the world.

“What are you talking about? Didn't you say you would send the money? Where is this divorce nonsense coming from?” he asked.

“I've made my decision, Mark. I'm not doing this anymore.”

Before he could respond, I heard a familiar cough in the background.

Vivian, Her cough sounded weak and pitiful, followed by a small groan that immediately made Mark's attention shift away from me.

I closed my eyes briefly. Here we go again, In my previous life, Vivian had always found a way to make herself appear helpless whenever she wanted something from me. A headache, a fever, a sudden cough, or a few carefully shed tears were usually enough to make my father accuse me of being selfish.

Apparently, nothing had changed.

“Selena, can't you hear that Vivian is coughing?” Mark snapped. “Why are you always so heartless? Why can't you do something to make your sister happy for once instead of behaving like a sadist who enjoys making everyone miserable?”

I gripped my phone tightly.

My sister, The woman who had stolen my husband, helped him abandon me, and watched me die while laughing behind a locked gate.

And somehow, I was still the villain.

I could have reminded Mark of every sacrifice I had made for him. I could have told him exactly what I remembered from my death, including the confession that he had never wanted my baby.

But there was no point wasting my breath on a man who had already shown me how little my life meant to him.

“I'm not discussing Vivian with you,” I replied. “I'll bring the divorce papers to you today, and I expect you to sign them.”

“Divorce papers?” he scoffed. “Selena, have you finally lost your mind?”

I ended the call. For several seconds, I stared at my phone, remembering how many times I had cried after similar conversations in my previous life.

Not anymore.

I had a child to protect, a dimensional space to fill, and three months to prepare for a world that would soon collapse.

Mark Ashford was no longer my problem.

I began by gathering my valuables, including designer handbags, expensive watches, diamond earrings, gold necklaces, and clothes I had barely worn. I packed everything into suitcases and visited reputable luxury resale shops and jewelry dealers, negotiating fair prices and collecting receipts as I sold my possessions.

When I found the wedding necklace Mark had given me, I paused.

I remembered how proudly I had worn it, believing that the gift meant he was finally beginning to love me.

I had been so desperate for affection that I had mistaken expensive jewelry for love.

I placed the necklace with the other items I intended to sell.

“No piece of jewelry is worth more than my baby's life,” I whispered.

By the time I finished, I had converted a substantial amount of my possessions into cash.

I went straight to the bank, reviewed my accounts, secured my personal funds, checked whether Mark had access to any joint accounts, and changed my banking credentials. I withdrew all the cash for immediate purchases and stored the rest of it in my Dimensional space. Then I began shopping.

I visited different wholesalers and supermarkets, buying rice, beans, garri, noodles, flour, canned food, cooking oil, bottled water, powdered milk, and other long-lasting provisions. I added toiletries, disinfectants, batteries, torches, power banks, first-aid supplies, and pregnancy and baby essentials to my growing list.

Every time I returned to my car, I transferred the purchases into my dimensional space.

The bags disappeared one after another, leaving my car empty despite the enormous quantities I had bought.

I couldn't stop smiling.

However, after several days of buying supplies, one of the wholesale store owners finally approached me with a puzzled expression.

“Madam, forgive my curiosity, but why are you buying so much food? Are you opening a supermarket?” he asked.

I smiled politely.

“I'm constructing a new mansion, and I have many workers who need to be fed. Some are also working on the surrounding land, and I need to provide food for them and their families throughout the project,” I explained.

“Oh, I see. That must be a very large project,” he replied.

“It is, and I prefer to prepare everything in advance rather than waste time later,” I said.

He nodded and returned to his work.

I continued buying supplies from different stores, careful not to attract unnecessary attention. Every item I purchased went into my dimensional space, where I arranged everything as neatly as possible.

But food alone wouldn't protect us. I also needed a secure place to live.

After searching for suitable properties, I found an abandoned underground cave in a mountainous area outside the city. The place had been neglected for years, and most people considered it worthless because it required extensive renovation.

I contacted the owner, inspected the property, confirmed the ownership, and purchased it. I then arranged for professionals to assess its structural stability before planning the renovations.

When people heard about my purchase, some openly laughed at me.

“Selena, why would you waste your money on an abandoned cave when you could buy a beautiful mansion?” one acquaintance asked. “Have you completely lost your mind?”

I smiled without explaining myself. “Perhaps I simply know what I want,” I replied.

Let them laugh. They had no idea what was coming.

Once the property was mine, I began transforming it into a secure underground shelter. I arranged proper ventilation, water storage, sanitation, backup electricity, and reinforced access points. I made sure the space could support prolonged stays without relying entirely on outside services.

I kept my plans private and continued moving supplies into my dimensional space.

The next thing I needed to do was end my marriage officially.

That afternoon, I collected the divorce papers my lawyer had prepared and drove to the house Mark had built for Vivian.

Of course, he had never built anything like that for me.

The beautiful property stood in an exclusive neighborhood, with a landscaped garden and an expensive car parked in the driveway. I remembered how Mark had claimed he was too busy to spend time with me, yet he had somehow found enough time and money to create a comfortable home for the woman he truly wanted.

I walked through the gate without hesitation.

When Mark saw me entering the living room, he looked surprised, but the expression quickly turned into amusement.

“Look who has finally decided to show up,” he said, leaning back on the sofa. “Have you brought my money?”

I placed the divorce papers on the table in front of him.

“Sign them.” He stared at the documents before bursting into laughter.

“Divorce papers? Selena, are you serious?” “Completely.” i replied.

He picked up the papers and flipped through them, shaking his head as though he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

“I heard you've been buying food everywhere, selling your jewelry, and behaving strangely. Now you're talking about divorce. Have you gone mad?” he asked. “Do you love me so much that the thought of losing me has finally driven you crazy?”

I looked at him in disgust. “You think everything I do is about you, don't you?” “Because it usually is,” he replied smugly.

I almost laughed. This man had absolutely no idea how insignificant he had become in my life.

“Sign the papers, Mark. I have no intention of wasting my time here.”

His amusement deepened. “Fine. If this little performance makes you feel better, I'll sign them. But don't come crawling back to me when you realize you've made the biggest mistake of your life,” he said.

He signed the documents and shoved them toward me. “There. Happy now? Get out of my house.”

I collected the papers and checked his signature before placing them safely inside my bag.

“I won't be coming back,” I replied. He waved dismissively, already losing interest.

“Good. That's exactly what I want. Vivian and I can finally live without your constant drama.”

I looked at him one last time. In my previous life, those words would have destroyed me. Now, they felt like freedom.

“Enjoy your life, Mark,” I said before turning toward the door.

I walked out without looking back.

For the first time since our marriage, I felt no desire to turn around and see whether he was watching me leave.

He had signed away the marriage he had never valued, believing I would eventually regret it.

He would soon discover that I had never been more certain of anything in my life.

I returned to my underground property and resumed the renovations, determined to finish everything before the three months were over.

The days passed quickly as I supervised the remaining work, checked the shelter's essential systems, and filled my dimensional space with everything I might need. Whenever exhaustion threatened to overwhelm me, I reminded myself that every hour I spent preparing was another chance to protect my child.

I refused to let the past repeat itself.

By the end of the third month, the underground shelter was ready, my supplies were secured, and the divorce papers were safely in my possession.

Then the news began.

A pharmaceutical research facility had suffered an explosion, and several people exposed to experimental drugs had developed a mysterious infection. Initially, authorities described it as an unusual virus that could be treated, but the situation quickly deteriorated.

Patients began attacking doctors and nurses. Infected people displayed abnormal aggression, and some victims developed horrifying symptoms after the virus remained in their bodies for too long.

Hospitals struggled to contain the growing outbreak as reports of violent attacks spread across the country.

Then the reporter on my screen delivered the announcement that made my blood run cold.

Several infected patients had begun turning into zombie-like creatures, attacking anyone who came near them.

I stood in the middle of my underground shelter, one hand resting on my stomach as I watched the news.

Three months of preparation. Three months of keeping my secrets.

Three months of making sure nobody could take away my baby's future.

And now, the moment I had been waiting for had finally arrived. I smiled and gently stroked my belly.

“Yes,” I laughed“The time has finally come.”
