LOGINChapter 4
Nessa’s POV Matthew stood tall, staring intensely at me. He did not understand why a sudden, explosive anger consumed him the moment he saw me wearing such a revealing outfit. "I-I'm sorry, Sir... This was the uniform given to me," I explained with a trembling voice. I forced myself to lift the tray to cover my chest as much as I could. He did not answer me. Instead, he coldly turned his gaze to one of his bodyguards. "Call the event manager up here. Right now." The man by his side moved quickly. After a few minutes of me standing there like a statue, the manager arrived running. He was a heavy-set man who was completely drenched in sweat. He was clearly terrified of the billionaire's presence. I stared in shock. This was not the manager I had spoken to earlier. Why was it someone else? I swallowed hard. "M-Mr. Arizmendi! Is there a problem with the service, boss?" the manager asked, stuttering and bowing his head. Matthew glared at him. His voice cut through the air like ice, "Who gave you permission to let waitresses wear this kind of garbage in my establishment?" The manager looked at me, and his face instantly changed. Instead of admitting the truth, he immediately shook his head to clear his own name. "I-I don't know, Mr. Arizmendi! That woman is the only one dressed like that! All the waitresses we hired from the province are wearing decent and formal uniforms." My eyes widened in absolute shock. I could not believe what I was hearing. "It looks like she changed her clothes to get attention from the VIP guests!" I froze to the spot because of what he said, "Hey! That is not true! The manager was the one who handed me the bag with—" "Quiet!" the manager shouted, cutting me off. "There is no other manager! It is just me!" I turned to Matthew, almost crying from fear and the intense injustice, "Sir, please believe me. I did nothing wrong. I would never do this—" Before I could even finish my sentence, Matthew snapped his fingers. In an instant, before I could even take a step back, two of his giant bodyguards suddenly grabbed me by both arms. I dropped the tray. The champagne bottles shattered completely on the floor. "Let go of me! You are hurting me!" I cried, struggling with all my might. Their strength was not human. It felt like being held by two stone walls. "Sir, please! I am telling the truth! I am just working for my family!" His face remained completely blank as he watched me struggle against his men. My tears did not move him at all. All he wanted was to get me out of the public eye before he completely lost control over the unexplainable fury burning in his chest. "Take her to the basement," Matthew ordered coldly, already turning his back toward the VIP lounge. "I will handle her interrogation myself later." I wanted to scream for help, but I knew no one would help me in this place. This was his territory. It felt like I had entered a lion's den, and I was just a helpless mouse. "Please have mercy on me!" I said, crying, but they seemed deaf. As they dragged me toward a lift, an elevator suddenly chimed. I did not know which one it was. The elevator doors opened. Everyone stopped, including the bodyguards holding me. Even Matthew slowly turned around. That specific elevator had the highest security clearance in the entire hotel. No one was allowed to use it except the owner. From inside the elevator, a small creature slowly stepped out. My eyes widened, and I completely forgot to breathe. Walking onto the luxurious carpet of the hallway was Zarek—now a large, golden puppy. He was furious. The fur on his back was raised, and he kept growling like an angry dog while staring straight at the bodyguards holding me. I knew that one wrong move, and he would attack.Chapter 6Nessa’s POVI ended up in a dark, cramped alley beside the gigantic hotel. I sank down onto the cold concrete, surrounded by the blaring horns of New York traffic and the towering walls of skyscrapers. There, I finally burst into tears. I had no idea how we were going to get home. I didn’t have a single cent on me because I didn’t get paid, and I had no money for fare back to our province. I had hoped everything would go well and that I would return with money. I should have made sure first.Beside me, Zarek sat whimpering and restless, as if he could feel the deep ache in my heart. My mind was an absolute mess, worrying about how I would face my mother without any money. I would only disappoint her.Because I was crying so hard and overthinking, I lost track of my surroundings. When I finally calmed down a bit and looked to my side, Zarek was gone."Zarek?!" My eyes widened. A sudden panic seized me, and I screamed.I stood up immediately and ran blindly through the dark al
Chapter Nessa’s POV"Zarek! No!" I screamed as my tears completely spilled over.Terrified for my son, a sudden surge of strength allowed me to push away the bodyguards holding me. I quickly dropped to my knees on the luxurious carpet, scooped up the aggressive puppy, and hugged him tightly. My entire body shook as I wrapped my arms around him to protect him from any harm these people might do."Please, Sir! Don't hurt my son! I am begging you!" I cried, looking up at Matthew. The people in the hallway—the manager, the staff, and the other waiters witnessing the scene—looked like they were about to faint from absolute shock. Their eyes widened, and their mouths hung open. In the eyes of normal people, I had completely lost my mind because I called an animal my child.I did not care what they thought. In my heart, Zarek is my son. Even though he was born different—a puppy with golden fur instead of a normal human baby—he is my life. Zarek was an extra-large puppy who grew much faster

Chapter 3Our bus ride from our remote town lasted for over eight hours. As we entered the heart of Manhattan, New York, the scenery outside the window gradually changed. The simple roads were replaced by towering skyscrapers, glowing digital billboards, and the endless stream of moving vehicles.Even though it was already morning, the weather here remained cold. The fog mingled with the city smoke, making it feel as if a serious and dark aura always loomed over this place. I could hear the excitement of my companions inside the bus as they stared at the luxurious shops along Fifth Avenue, but my own chest only grew heavier the closer we got to our destination. The bus pulled up in front of a massive, opulent hotel—The Grand Arizmendi Plaza. It was a famous and renowned establishment throughout New York, owned by a mysterious billionaire. We lined up in an orderly fashion as we entered through the hotel's back entrance for staff. We were taken straight to a spacious, private locker ro
Chapter 2The next morning, I woke up early to go to town. I rode my old bicycle and carried my worn-out bag. When I arrived, the incredibly long line at the covered court made me dizzy. Hundreds of women from nearby towns crowded the area. Everyone wore their best clothes. They all hoped to get the job because it paid a lot of money for just one night. I heard girls whispering about how rich the family organizing the party was. For many of them, this was a chance to experience wealth and visit the city they only saw on TV. They probably hoped to catch a rich man to escape poverty."Line up properly! Get your IDs ready!" a uniformed guard shouted. The line moved slowly. I waited for hours under the hot sun before I finally got inside the court. At the far end, interviewers sat at a long table. But the person who caught everyone's eye was a woman sitting right in the center. She did nothing but watch the crowd. She wore a formal black suit, her hair was tied in a neat bun, and she stoo
Chapter 1My eyes widened as I continued to clutch the invitation Roberto had handed to me, the owner of the bakery where I regularly delivered the bread my mother and I baked. I kept reading the same lines over and over, as if hoping the words would somehow change.“Exclusive Gala for Selected Young Ladies. Compensation: 350 USD for a night.”For others, that amount might seem small. But for me, it meant more than a week’s worth of food, milk for Zarek, and medicine in case he got sick. It meant a bit of comfort in our small hut that always felt short of air and light. It meant something special for my baby’s birthday.I took a deep breath and placed the paper on the table. My hands were trembling.“I can’t,” I whispered to myself. They were only looking for young, unmarried women, a maiden, and I was no longer one.I sat on the old wooden stool, trying to push away the heaviness in my chest. But the exhaustion crept back in, not just in my body but in my mind, which was constantly w
