Chapter 7

I WANT TO BE ALONE

While Candida's concentration was all on the ongoing movie, the door disclosed and Joanna stepped in

She welcomed her with a loud hiss taking her eyes off her

"Uh-huh ! Candi, what's wrong with you ? My presence hurts yoh right ? ", Joana referred to her curiously getting her eyes narrowed and face chiseled

Candida spared her a glance, " you said so ", was all that escaped her lips

The both sat opposite each other without uttering a word for a while... only the sound from the movie could be heard

"Candi ", Joana called her out

Her head flicked sideways to get Joana staring at her

"Wouldn't you go ahead with whatever it is that brought you here ? "

She let a loud hiss but Grimly mocking her

"Have you paid Vilfredo a visit,at least to bring him back to his senses ", Joana referred to her

Her lips stretched for a while and then relaxed while her face contorted

"Pay Fredo a visit you said ? Aren't you aware anymore that he's married or you want me to visit my Early grave ? "

" But you're a strong woman, Candi...you don't need to be scared for any reason ", Joana assured her

She shook her head, " no matter how strong I am , it isn't to that extent. Fredo might crush me with his bare paly if I ever make such attempt "

" That was then Candida, he really needs you now...so so much ", Joana stated amidst laughter

Her palm lifted her jaw as she rolled her eyes continuously

For a while, a single word couldn't escape outta her esophagus , she only stared at the television with full attention

At a time,she got on her feet and swayed towards the kitchen flaccidly

" You're leaving me here Candi ", Joana spoke up almost on her feet

She swiveled her neck backwards to get the haunted feelings vividly written on her face

" I'll be back within minutes ", she assured her

She made her way into the kitchen in order to get herself some amount of fruits

When she noticed of her loosing the appetite of taking the fruit, she left to her bedroom

Her eyes darted round the room with her two hands inputted into her pocket

The reflection of the photograph behind her Little table caught her eyes that she strode towards it

Staring at it for a while,she bent and picked it up

"Who is this ? ", The question roamed in her mind

Her eyes narrowed in deep thought

"Vilfredo... Vilfredo ", his name escaped her lips twice

How on earth did the photograph appeared in her room ? That's one thing she isn't aware of

Her ass settled peacefully on the sofa opposite the bed and she affixed her stares on the photograph

"Why did you do this to me Vilfredo ? after all the love I have for you... boldly you left me to a stranger. What benefits did you get from that ? Isn't it better that I don't know who you are ? ", She sniffed heavily letting the tears roll down her cheeks

" You know, my dream has always been to be part of the Zoren's family...at least to get a percentage of their riches and nothing will ever stop My dream on the way. Mark my words Fredo, I am fighting so hard to get myself attached to the Zoren's family in anyway even if it isn't directly through me... but no matter what it may take ", she concluded on her words and relaxed on the sofa in deep tears

The image of her childhood love and play with Fredo kept hitting her memory worsening her pain

It's well vivid to her that Fredo had never loved her talk more of getting married to her...but the love she has for him couldn't come to an end,rather it grew continuously

Turning out to be a lucky lady, the Antonio's loved and cherished her so much that it happened to be their thought that Fredo will be getting married to her

A knock on the door brought her out of hef thought, she stared at the door to get Rudolph stepping in

"What are you doing here Rudolph ? You never told me of your coming ", she referred to him getting on her feet

He ignored her questions stepping towards the bed to get in contact with his baby

"You aren't giving me an answer to my question Rudolph. Are you fooling me? ", She yelled at him

He lifted his face to get her enraged already

" Tell me Candida, is it a crime to pay you and the baby a visit ? Should I forget everything about my child ? That's impossible "

" Leave my life alone, I don't need you beside me ", she broke out in tears

Rudolph found what's going on irritating to his heart

" When will you ever love me truly ? Tell me Candida. You don't love me neither do you want me to be the man in your life,yet you made love to me… where you blind then that you couldn't differentiate between me and Fredo ? "

" Don't mention that name again, I'm glad you're aware that I love him other than you ", she remarked to his hearing

He stared at her for a while and let out a loud hiss, " if you're leaving to him as the man in your dreams, then I'll have my baby to myself "

" Never will I let you do that, you're leaving with her to nowhere... she's my baby and I'm the mother ", she concluded and got seated forcefully on the sofa

Rudolph swayed closer to her, " I never denied your responsibility as a mother towards her, Candi...let me into your life and you won't regret it "

She glared at him while biting her lips, " leave my sight Rudolph "

He quietly left the room through the door In pains... without taking just a glance, he left the compound assuring himself of Candi coming back to him afterwards since Fredo will never love her

" Candi , you're crying again... what's wrong ? Did Rudolph hurt you ? ", Joana questioned her curiously

She glanced at her and then bent her head

"It's Fredo, I need him to myself... only with him I can find happiness again "

"Then you go pay him a visit while I take care of Imelda ", Joana stated gripping her palm

She adjusted on her seat, " again ! You've forgotten that she's married...I can't take such risk "

"Yeah, he's married indeed but Liana has been banished from the Zoren's family. You know why ? Because of the Heiress disappearance. Fredo can't do anything about it ", Joana stated further

Candi wiped the tears on her face with her palm and slowly got on her feet

"Joana, you mean she isn't with a woman right away ? "

"Of course, Fredo has turned out to be a bachelor...you might be the next bride ", Joana remarked to her hearing

" I'll be visiting him now, take good care of Imelda till I'm back ", she stated and twitched into the bathroom

The scent From Liana filled the room again and he perceived it... this is the second time he inhaled the scent from her,yet couldn't feel her presence beside her

Just like a dream,he loosed not only his daughter...but also his wife

The tears that flowed Down his cheek had soaked up the pillow already...he had rumbled the bed cover to his desire

He believes this is the end of life for him, if starvation would take his life that would be better

"Emeliana and Maricar, I believe you're safe anywhere you are... and that one day, I'll seat with you two again. I love you two so much ", he uttered amidst tears rolling on the bed

For a while, his eyes began counting on the properties in his room, he stared at them all serially

The sound of the doorbell drew his attention towards the door worsening his bad mood

" Who's that ? Come in ", he stated curiously

The door pushed open and Candida stepped in smiling widely

" They let you in right ? So you could get the privilege you've been looking for all this while, to mock me for loosing my family ", he uttered while on his feet in deep anger

She sighed Taking a deep breath, " don't say that again...I am not here to mock you rather to spend time with you "

" Spend time with me you said ? And who told you that I need someone to keep me company ? Mrs ,I want to be alone, you can make use of the door ", he screeched to her hearing

Candida watched him get seated on the bed without sparing her a glance, she moved towards him and got on her knees...her face bent low while she wiped the tears on her cheek

" It's so unfortunate that you loosed your daughter who happened to be abducted...not only that,but also your lovely wife….

Fredo glared at her, " so what are you up to then ? Do you know my daughter's whereabout ? Are you aware of who abducted her ? If no...then stand and leave my sight "

"I know nothing about the disappearance of your daughter and I'm so sad you loosed your wife too. Fredo, forgive me if I ever hurt you, I need your love and that's the only thing that will ever make me happy. Give me a chance on your life and I promise you'll never regret it ", she assured him amidst tears

Vilfred turned deaf ears to all she stated, he got on his feet pacing round the room

"I won't ever deny of you being my childhood friend and all those years I observed the love you have for me...but the truth is that I don't love you and don't know how to do that ", he uttered vividly

Candida got on her feet stepping towards him, she gripped his palm

"Vilfred,you can do it...trust me you'll never regret having me by your side, it's a promise….

He stared at her for a while but couldn't utter a word, only a hiss flowed outta her lips

"No woman can ever be like Liana, she's so virtuous and I can't love her less ", he remarked to her hearing

"You can't do this to me Fredo ", she stated trying to get her lips affixed on his

He pulled away forcefully from her and in deep anger...the least he could do is to let the door open for her
