Did you kill my father?

The door clicked open and Chris walked in.he was dressed in a black suit.He Walked towards Stephanie who stepped back when she saw him.

"Why are you doing this to me?"she asked and Chris was speechless.he had the urge to set her free because of the innocence in her voice when she asked him the question.

At the end,he kept to his belief that he had a mission to accomplish and he wasn't going to ruin it by having pity for her.

He brought out his phone and showed her a video of a man being held hostage.she looked at the video well and her eyes were wide open as she realized who it was.

"Raymond"she muttered as she returned her gaze to Chris.

"Let him go, what do you want from me?"she questioned.

"I want you to behave yourself in this wedding if you don't want anything to happen to him,I want you to act like you happy and cool with the wedding, that's the only way you can guarantee his safety"Chris said to her.

"Consider it done but you should set him free after this wedding"she said to him.

"It depends on how you behave yourself"he said to her.

"I will do as you said as far as my bodyguard Raymond is safe"she said and Chris nodded as he turned to leave.

"I have a question"Stephanie said aloud and Chris stopped on his tracks.he turned to face her staring intently at her and Stephanie felt intimidated with the way he was looking at her but she didn't let it get to her.she looked at him straight in the eyes.

"Are you the one responsible for my father's death?did you kill my father?"she asked and Chris squinted his eyes.

"Why do you ask?"he asked.

"You are a stranger and you are treating me with disrespect and everything started the day my father died so you are the only one who I know can kill my father"she said to him.

"Interesting"Chris muttered.

"What would you do if I was the one that killed your father?"he asked and Stephanie clenched her fists as she bit her lips at the same time.he was right with his question, what will she do?she didn't have any power to do anything right now,she would only hurt herself knowing that she got married to her father's murderer.

"You shouldn't ask stupid questions till you investigate properly"Chris said to her and she frowned.

"That doesn't answer my question"she said to Chris who was surprised with her audacity.she was not innocent like he thought, seems she was smart.

"You shouldn't be thinking of me because you don't know the agreement I had with your father before he died,your father is the president and he would have so many enemies so if you are looking for the culprit then you really have a long way to go,I wish you good luck in finding the culprit"Chris said to her.

"Does that mean that you are not the one?"Stephanie asked.

She wanted to know the truth,she wanted to hear it from his mouth.

Chris glared at her because of her numerous questions.she was stubborn.

"I didn't kill your father"he said to her before leaving the room.he didn't want to hear her questions anymore.
