10. She Was Died

ERIN

I felt myself emerge from what felt like a very deep slumber. My eyelids fluttered open, my gaze unfocused as I tried to make sense of where I was.

But everywhere was dark, pitch black; I thought my vision was just blurred and hazy but a few seconds of clearing later, I was still surrounded in unending darkness.

A faint furrow crossed my brows as I wondered what was happening, but they immediately knitted together in pain as a dull ache throbbed in my temples, pulsating with every one of my heartbeats.

I grimaced, instinctively reaching up to cradle my head and give a short, soothing massage.

My movements were slow and unsteady as I found my footing, stumbling up on my feet.

I looked around the perimeter again and was greeted by the loneliness of the darkness. My cluelessness doubled, confusion and a sense of fear settling in.

Where was I?

"Erin." I heard a voice call out to me, it trailed out like the echoes of a lullaby.
