Chapter 2 | Wolves in Sheep's Clothing (2)

Celestin cruelly smiled when she remembered the day that Trent murdered her.

'And for goodness' sake, he wasn't trying to stop my execution that day. He was asking Reign's father if it's necessary to kill me. I'm just too blinded by my love for him that I took his words the wrong way.'

But if someone is going to ask Celestin about the most disgusting thing Trent had done to her? It's certainly not this because that thing he'd done was far more inhumane and sickening than that.

Celestin went straight to her room and took a shower. She then changed into her school uniform and went out to go to their classroom. She can teleport to their room if she wants. But she can't show that she has any other ability besides having the power to communicate or translate any language until she fulfills her plan.

When she arrived at the classroom, she immediately sat down. She was the only one there because their class was still at 10 o'clock. Celestin's eyes slowly scanned the place. She remembers every experience she had in this room. And she was fed up. She felt disgusted from inside out.

But she kept on coming back when all she wanted was to disappear. If it weren't for her motivation to kill her father, she probably would have killed herself repeatedly to escape from this never-ending curse.

A few moments later, her 'friends' arrived. Reign and Trent are with each other's company. It is clear that they like each other, yet they are still not together. There is also Athena and Luke which were always fighting. Finally, the young-minded Nicole and the oh-so-smart Dion entered last. At first glance, you think they are the heroes of a novel, the kind of friends who will not let each other down no matter what happens. But Celestin knew this was not true. Because she, who sacrificed for each of them, has been forsaken when she needed them the most.

"Hey, you're so early here Celestin—Ow!" Luke suddenly shouted since Athena pinched him.

"You're so naughty, Luke! Do you think I didn't know what you were saying about me last night?!"

"It's just a joke—Aaah! Damn, that hurts!"

"You two, stop it will you?" Reign laughed as she glanced at her hand which Trent was holding and smiled.

"It's because of this crazy jerk!" Athena slapped Luke's arm with a bright red face multiple times.

"Me? It's you who started it! Crazy hag!"

"Luke, Athena. Stop." Suddenly the two fell silent when Trent spoke. It took quite a while before he started talking again. It's just that this time, his attention was directed at Celestin.

"By the way, why didn't you respond to me back then, Celestin? You even pretended not to know me."

Celestin looked seriously at Trent with an examining gaze. "Do I have to respond to everything you say? I'm going to ignore you whenever I want."

Everyone was stunned by what she said. They were all speechless. Because no one has ever tried to answer Trent with a rebuke, except for Reign, of course.

Trent's face suddenly darkened, his forehead furrowed, and his two eyebrows almost connected. Reign noticed this, so she immediately interfered.

"Hey Celestin, are you crazy? Maybe you're sick. You know Trent doesn't like it when someone talks back to him, right?" The girl said while laughing, yet hinting her to apologize.

"I'm fine. Even though I'm only capable of translating scriptures, I am not stupid, unlike you. One more thing, I have the right to remain silent whenever I want to," Celestin replied, smiling.

'Ahh... it's so refreshing to speak my mind. I've been putting up a front for so many fucking lives. I'm so freaking tired of playing nice. Especially to these bunch of Judas. '

Trent's face darkened, even more, when he heard what Celestin said to Reign.

'That girl! It's alright even if she humiliate me, but Reign? I can't forgive her for hurting my love! '

If Celestin ever heard Trent's thoughts, she would squint her eyes out of disgust and sigh heavily.

"What? I'm only—" Celestin's words were cut short because of Trent.

"You've crossed the line. I won't forgive you." Trent approached her, but Reign stopped him.

"Trent, that's enough. Now say sorry to Trent, Celestin." Reign's smile was awkward as she looked at Celestin as if insisting on her to agree, or else Trent would burst out his anger on her.

"I'm just stating the truth. Why are you getting so worked up? Don't I have any freedom of speech here?" Celestin was grinning ear to ear.

'It's so fun to annoy these brats'

"Cen!" This time Nicole interrupted her, "What's wrong with you? You are not like this before. Why do you have to say that to Sister Reign? Don't you know that she's hurt? She's just joking. Why do you have to insult her?" She then started to tear up.

"Nicole stop being so loud and immature, Am I not allowed to speak my mind here at all?"

"I'm not immature! You are immature! You're bad!"

'God, she's too noisy. It hurts my ear.'

"Hey, look at what you've done, Cen! You made her cry. You really should say sorry to everyone! Also, why are you acting like that?" At

"Well, I'm just spitting facts. So why should I be sorry?" Celestin tilted her head to insist on her innocence. Her eyes were so clear that if only they didn't know better, they would've believed her already.

'I won't ever apologize to traitors.'

The formerly foolish Luke is also starting to get serious. He said, "Cen, what's your problem? Don't you start a quarrel among us? You're the one who's wrong, just accept that."

"Luke's right Cen, you're becoming so childish," Dion remarked with his eyes evoking so much seriousness.

Bu all of them didn't expect that Celestin would laugh despite the heavy atmosphere surrounding them.

'Oh, I'm the villain now? How amusing.'

Reign would have spoken if their adviser hadn't arrived. And that is Drewes Albania, also known as Drew.

"What is going on?" The teacher asked with narrowed eyes because he found Nicole crying while Reign and Athena were comforting her. Luke was serious, Dion was disappointed, and most of all, Trent was furious.

They told the teacher what had happened, so he was surprised. "So all this was because of a small misunderstanding?" He asked as he was confused. On top of that, he didn't expect the Elite Class to have a petty side in them.

"It wasn't a misunderstanding. It's Cen's fault!" Nicole suddenly stood up and complained using a high-pitched tone which was annoying to hear. In addition to that, she was even screaming very loud.

"All right, all right, let's go to class and talk about that later." The teacher massaged his temple as he signaled Nicole to sit down.

"But sir—"

"Enough." He heaved a sigh and pushed the rim of his glasses using a finger.

"Sir please we—"

"I said enough. Time's running out," He said and accidentally caught a glimpse of the smiling Celestin staring at him. He did not know, but he seemed terrified when he saw the child. So he took his eyes off her and began to teach.

"All right, have lunch first," Drew said and walked out.

He was in the hallway when suddenly someone passed by his side.

"You impressed me, Hawk" a warm whisper stunned him.

'How—?'

He turned quickly and saw Celestin smiling. He was terrified again.

'Who is this girl, and why is her presence so strong?'

Drew shook his head and decided to inform his superiors immediately.

***

"Celestin." A strong hand pulled Celestin towards a corner. Yet she was not surprised, for she knew this man's temperament. Impulsive and thoughtless, especially when it comes to Reign.

"What else do you need?" she asked while still picking her ear using her right pinky finger.

She honestly doesn't have time to talk to this person, because she still has something to prepare for tonight.

"You knew the consequences of insulting Reign, and yet you still did it. Now I have no choice but to teach you a lesson." Trent uttered with utmost irritation. Celestin could hear his teeth gritting and she could see his eyebrows furrowed.

"You know what, Trent? You sound like an ironic asshole right now. You don't want anyone calling Reign stupid, yet you keep on calling her that as well. Or are you saying that the word stupid becomes a compliment when you're the one telling it? Don't be a hypocrite jerk. If you don't want anyone insulting her, then don't do it yourself. " Celestin laughed after she spoke, enjoying the feeling of insulting Trent over and over again.

"I'm the only one who can call her that. I'm an exemption," He replied while smiling broadly and pointing at himself.

"Oh really? Then what were you to each other exactly?" Celestin's smile widened even more as she looked straight into Trent's eyes. Her look was sarcastic, obviously teasing.

It was as if a large rock had fallen on Trent when he heard what Celestin said. The man's grin immediately disappeared and was replaced by clenched jaws. "We're... we're," he couldn't continue because deep in his mind, he knew that Celestin is right. They weren't a couple, and he doesn't even know why Reign doesn't want to agree, even though they've been in love with each other for two years.

"Hmm? Ahh, I know. You're friends with benefits." Celestin's ears seemed to be clapping with joy now. Even her heart seemed to be pounding with excitement. She knew that his status with Reign was a big slap in the face for Trent. The truth is, even before she died, the two still weren't together.

Trent's heart was pounding now because of Celestin's words. His hands were almost bleeding because he was squeezing them too much. He could no longer speak because he was afraid of being even more embarrassed in front of the girl. But despite all this, he still managed to subjugate Celestin.

"Don't show your face to me today, or else I'll rip it off." Celestin can see the contempt in Trent's eyes. It was like a burning fire that was ready to devour her any moment. But she wasn't scared. Not even a little bit.

'Don't worry. You won't see me after today. Because the next time we meet? One of us will die, that's for sure.'

"And one more thing, if you bow down to Reign tomorrow, I'll think of sparing you," He quickly said as he walked straight without even glancing.

If the old Celestin is here, she would undoubtedly follow. She wouldn't even cause this mess in the first place. But the Celestin at this very moment is a different one. She's someone with a heart, hardened by time, with a soul tainted by countless betrayals, and whose innocence was taken away by those wolves in sheep's clothing.

But one thing's for sure, may it be the old or new? Both will be having their revenge. Sweet fucking served.
