Chapter 3 | The Secret of The Woods (1)

Celestin was walking in the hallway when she passed by the Elites. And by Elites, it means her so-called friends. They're only seven in that class because it is specifically for the chosen ones only. Other classes are named Class A, B, C, so on, and so forth.

They also saw her and expected her to halt and apologize but, instead of stopping, she deliberately ignored them without even sparing a glance. Thankfully, Trent wasn't there, or else she'll be in a bad mood again.

"Hey, Celestin!" She heard Luke's loud voice, so she slowly tilted her head to see him. Then she moves her eyebrows up and down to indicate that Luke should tell her why he wasted her time. And Luke got what she's trying to say, so he talked.

"Reign's father, he was—" Celestin immediately turned around and fastened her pace. She knows what Luke was about to say, so she cut him off.

'Tsk, what is that old man's problem with me now? Oh, is it because of her lovely daughterHehshe's incredible. She made that demon incarnate love her.'

Reign Heath is the eldest daughter of Vestian. Celestin was in the middle of her first year in Yves when Reign first entered the academy. At first, no one knows that Reign is Vestian's daughter. She was sent here by an academy professor under the guise of expulsion. Then last year, Reign manifested the 'mind control' power. Before the anniversary of the victory of their clan against the Ilias tribe. Then, Vestian became fond of Reign, who was better than Celestin with linguistic abilities. And so, that's when it started. Celestin was slowly cast away by her father. But she believed that her friends wouldn't let her down. Until last month, when the whole school knew that Reign was Vallejo's eldest, no one favored Celestin anymore. Reign coveted all attention. Even her friends who once loved her turned their backs away from her. Especially Trent, her first and foremost love. But the exasperatingly naive Celestin still trusted and protected them with all her heart.

Celestin walked without stopping. She didn't even bother to pay greetings to anyone she met and just straightly stormed into the room. Then, she saw her father with a stoic face while looking at her.

"Good morning, father." she gritted her teeth as she forced herself to bow and greet him.

'It's so annoying to pay respects to this man.'

But there is nothing she can do. She still can't beat this man in front of her. So she needs to be careful until her plans for this evening become successful.

Celestin was about to sit down when Vestian slammed a hand on his table. Despite the loud sound, Celestin remained still and didn't flinch. She was used to this kind of situations, therefore, it won't affect her.

"What may be the problem, father?" She asked in a gentle tone, which portrayed the image of a loving daughter caring for her father.

"Why did you insult your sister?" A cold voice asked her. If someone would hear how Vestian talked to her daughter they would really doubt Celestin's authenticity as his child. And yet instead of panicking, she slowly smiled.

"Father, I wasn't insulting my dear sister. I was joking." But the smile she had, didn't reach her eyes. Celestin was clearly shoving it all down her throat. Her grievances, her loathings, her anger, and her disgust. Only to make sure that he won't suspect her.

"If so, why did your sister come here, asking me to talk to you?" Vestian squinted his eyes at Celestin as if he is trying to see if she was lying.

'If only I didn't know her true motives, I would really be fooled by that a two-faced bitch.'

"Oh goodness! I didn't know that sister could be silly sometimes" Celestin giggled for a second and looked back at her father with a grin. Her lie was so convincing that even Vestian couldn't see through her.

"You know, father. I'm sure that sister was doing that to see you. Since these days you've been so busy that you haven't paid attention to her. You know her personality, father. She can be re~ally shy." She continued using the sweetest tone her body could produce.

Vestian calmed down after hearing Celestin's words.

'Hah, I knew it. Reign is this demon's weakness.'

"Is that true?" Vestian was still wearing his usual cold face but, Celestin can see the corners of his lips going up.

"That's why father, instead of wasting your time with me. Why don't you ask my sister to spend time with you?" Celestin widened her smile more, she knows that she looked like an idiot right now but she swallowed her pride up.

"Hmm, then get out of my office. I don't want to hear anything about you from Reign in the future. Don't cause any trouble anymore, Celestin. I'm tired of cleaning your mess, you useless bug." Then he swiveled his chair, turning his back to Celestin. He never cleaned up her mess before, since Celestin doesn't even have any guts to create any troubles.

'I assure you, father, this will be the last time you'll hear anything about me.'

The sweet smile in Celestin's face instantly vanished, as if it wasn't there in the first place. Instead, it was replaced by a grim expression.

She got out of the room with her eyebrows in one line, her jaw clenched, and her eyes are burning with madness. She was excluding an aura that is so terrifying it makes everyone around her submissive. And her steps were so heavy that it feels as if the ground was shaking every time she marches ahead.

While walking, Celestin bumped into someone, so she abruptly halted. She slowly turned her head and saw a woman with a smirk plastered on her face. It was evident that the woman was trying to ridicule her.

"Oh look, if it wasn't Celestin? The headmaster's abandoned daughter? Hahahaha! I really can't understand where you got the guts to stay here when you're worse than garbage itself!" Her laugh was so loud that it irritated Celestin. She was already annoyed and the woman stirred her anger even more.

The girl smugly looked at Celestin, expecting her to tear up and cry. But what she saw was a glare that made her knees weak.

"Get the heck out of my way." Celestin said using a voice that was colder than ice, which added to her already scary image.

The girl collapsed from the fear of Celestin. She never expected that the Celestin the whole school once looked down on would change so much in a day, because if she knew? She would definitely not even dare to look at her in the eye.

"The next time you block me, I'm gonna rip your throat. Remember that." Celestin's threat made the girl pee her pants. Literally.

The foul smell spread in the hallway, but no one laughed. Because no one thought that this was funny nor embarrassing. The students all gasped from fear. So when Celestin started walking again, they immediately pulled over to the side so that she could pass. Because they are afraid that if they bump with her again, they might end up with their heads flying.

Celestin clenched her fists and strode directly to the forbidden woods, not caring even if someone sees her. Fortunately for her, no one was around the forest every time since people are scared of the rumors surrounding it. And so, when she reached the deepest part of the forest, the blue fire rapidly surrounded the whole place. It brightened the forest that had recently been shrouded by the dreadful darkness It was raging as if the fire was resentful, and it wants to eat everything alive.

Celestin was breathing stiffly. She tried to sit down and meditate. Celestin continuously turned her anger into perseverance, hoping that the annoyance in her would die down. But she's mistaken, because the more she tried to calm herself, the more she felt like her insides were burning. She felt like someone was squeezing her every organ, which makes her want to rip them off. Thus, she stood up and closed her eyes. She gritted her teeth so hard that it made a creaking sound. Her whole body is shivering as if wanting to explode.

"AAAHHH!" Celestin screamed at the top of her lungs. A scream that is full of pain, sorrow, anger, and suffering. She shouted even though his throat was almost bleeding from the pain.

She can still remember her father's words in her previous life.

"Dream on Celestin, you can never defeat a monster like me. Because without anybody? You're nothing. You're a useless woman without any use."

Celestin hates to admit it, but he's right. She's still useless compared to her father. Those lives she spent training and learning weren't enough.

"I hate this... I hate this..." Celestin is shaking in anger, her lower lip is trembling, and her hands clenched tightly.

'Seventy-seven lives but I'm still affected by your presence. It's so irritating.'

Celestin felt the hatred and pain rising from her chest, so she squeezed it hard. She didn't want to feel like this anymore. It's so messed up. She's sick of this, she was so damn fed up!

She bit her lower lip so hard causing it to bleed profusely. Her nails wer/e also digging in her palm, and blood slowly drips from it.

"Father, remember that this useless bug you used to crush underneath your soles, will grow into a venomous butterfly and quaff every drop of your blood to death," Celestin said with her whole being wrapped with a murderous aura.
