Unusual classmates

We walked to my room while he told me about all the experiences he had had. I thanked him and he walked on. The room was beautiful and colorful, transmitting a lot of joy and good vibes.

-Hello- I heard a girl behind me.

-I'm Coni, your roommate.

-Hi, I'm...

-Mindy, I really liked your audition, you were fantastic.

-Thank you, ¿did everyone see my audition?

-All the auditions are streamed on the internet. I'm so embarrassed.

-Shame on you.

-I hope we get along.

-I'm sure we will.

At that moment, a blonde haired girl walked in without even saying hello and put her suitcase on one of the beds.

-Hi, I'm...

-I'm not interested.

-Hey, you don't have to be rude Misti.

-No one asked for your opinion. Listen, I wanted my own room, but I was told I had to share.

-Well...

-Don't try to get on my good side, just because we're roommates doesn't make us friends, I didn't come here to make friends.

She unpacks her personal items and then walks out ignoring us.

-¿What's wrong with her?

-Don't mind her, she's like that with everyone.

-¿How long have you been studying here?

-Since they opened.

-¿What is your talent?

-I am a singer.

-¿When do classes start?

-Today we have the day off, do you want me to show you around the school, we have to go to the auditorium in an hour.

-Yes, let's go.

Coni showed me the computer room, the classrooms, the library, the cafeteria and a kind of bar located on the top floor.

-¿Do you have a bar?

-It's our fun zone, it's open every Friday and the students take turns working in it.

-Wow.

As we made our way to the auditorium, I heard dan's voice in one of the classrooms. I saw him playing guitar in the company of a boy with dyed green hair. They were singing a song by my favorite band and I couldn't resist jumping in.

-¿Is that the Wizard of Oz?

-Yes, ¿do you like it?

-It's my favorite band.

-Mine too.

The green haired boy faked a cough to get our attention.

-Max, this is Mindy. Mindy, this is Max.

-Hi Max

-How are you doing, Coni, ¿are you participating in the musical this year?

-I don't think so.

-Cheer up, I'm sure you'll be great.

-Yes, maybe I will.

The director spoke over the loudspeaker asking the students to come to the auditorium. Once, there, I found my sister talking to Caroline.

-Ana, ¿where have you been?

-Knowing the place.

-¿You know how worried I was?

-But I'm fine, ¿aren't I? I got a super-heavy classmate.

-I see you met Coni's sister.

-¿What did Tamara do now?

-She made fun of my taste in comics.

-That's her, sorry.

-For sisters, she looks very different from you.

-Yes, everyone says so.

We entered the auditorium and the director welcomed us and then introduced us to the teachers. Among them was the redhead who had sent me to the principal's office, apparently she was like the teachers' spy.

Each teacher gave a brief description about his or her class, they all seemed nice, except for a slightly older lady who gave the impression that she didn't like me at all. The principal gave a last speech and then we all left the room.

Caroline and Coni told me about a welcome party that was organized every year. Coni offered to make the desserts and Caroline offered to help with the music. I felt bad about not contributing anything, so I joined the decorating group.

I headed to the gym and ran into some young people who were starting to decorate. A blonde girl greeted me and introduced me to the others.

-Hello again, ¿do you like the place?

-Yes, very much so.

-I'll introduce you to the others.

-This is Vanessa- he said, pointing to a girl who seemed disinterested in helping.

-Hello.

-Hello.

-This is Lucia-he pointed to an orange haired girl who was holding her cell phone.

-This is Timi-he pointed to a boy with glasses.

-Nice to meet you.

-Likewise Timi.

-Come on girls, if you don't put your mind to it, we'll never finish.

-I'm just here out of obligation, I don't like parties.

-Sorry Miranda, I have to go- the redhead cut the phone and left ignoring Miranda's pleas.

-Rays.

-You still have me Miranda.

-Thank you Timi.

-I'll help you too.

-Thanks Mindy.

We got to work until we were done with the decorations, it looked pretty good after all. After that, I went to my room to start getting ready when a man opened the door to hand me a package.

-It's for Miss Misti Store, could you give it to her?

-Yes, I give it to her.

The man made me sign some papers and then left. I put the package on his bed and I was curious to see what it contained. Misti arrived and quickly snatched the package from me.

-What are you doing, didn't they teach you that it's bad to snoop in other people's things?

-I'm sorry, it's just that it came for you and I got it.

-Thank you.

-So, what is it?

-You don't care about that, don't ever mess with my stuff, you hear me?

-Well.

-Well, she left carrying the package and I followed her stealthily.

She walked to a deserted part of the boarding school and met a young man carrying an envelope in his hand. She pushed him against the wall to threaten him with a gun she had taken out of her purse.

-It was you, wasn't it?

-I don't know what you're talking about.

-Do you have the money?

-As I promised," he answered, handing him the envelope, "It's not enough, it had to be the whole money.

-I'll give it to you, just give me time.

-That's what you said a month ago.

-I beg you to give me just a little more time.

Suddenly a spider landed on my shoulder making me let out a little squeak. They both heard me and I ran away, but Misti caught sight of me before I could get away.

I couldn't believe what I had just seen, I had a partner who was dedicated to something illegal, I didn't know what she was dedicated to, and I didn't want to know. I didn't know what our relationship was going to be like, but sooner or later she was going to claim me.

I went back to the room and got ready for the party. I was about to leave with Coni, but Misti stopped me.

-Hurry up, I'll come later.

-Okay, I'll see you there.

-I want to talk to you.

-Misti, about what happened...Misti, about what happened...

-¿Did you have to follow me?

-I couldn't help it, it was so mysterious and I thought you'd do something interesting.

-You're so weird.

-Please excuse me, don't kill me.

-I'm not stupid enough to kill you, it would draw attention.

-I promise I won't say anything, I'll keep your secret.

-It doesn't matter, most people already know what I do.

-¿What?

-My father helped a lot in the construction of this place.

-¿Really?

-He's a close friend of the director.

-You're not mad at me?

-Just for being nosy, from now on I don't want you meddling in my business, is that clear, stay out of my business.

-I will, thanks for not killing me.

-You go now.

-You're not going to the party?

-I don't care, it's silly.

I smiled nervously and went to the party. Everyone was dancing, except Dan who was talking with Timi and Coni.

-Hi.

-Hi Mindy.

-I thought you weren't coming.

-I had a little snag.

-Timi asked Coni to dance and I was left alone with Dan.

-¿Where's Caroline?

-Dancing with Max.

-¿They're a couple?

-Yes.

-Oh.

-You want to dance?

-Yes.

Dan was so nice, we both had so much in common. He was so simple, kind and funny, besides

cute. I was looking forward to spending more time with him to get to know him better.
