The Maybach slid into Aspire Mall’s underground garage, purring like an apex predator at rest.

During the ride, Isabella had been stewing in indignation—self-righteous, arms folded, replaying every smug word Vincent Sinclair had said.

But now, as the tinted glass revealed the glowing emblems of the mall’s flagship brands, her bravado cracked. Her stomach dipped, and her fingers tightened on the strap of her bag.

This wasn’t shopping. This was… another planet.

She swallowed hard. “I thought you meant, you know… normal shopping. Like a mall department store. Not—”

Her eyes snagged on the giant glowing letters ahead: Maison Etienne. The store stretched like a cathedral, marble and glass gleaming in spotless white. She nearly choked. “…Not this.”

Beside her, Vincent adjusted the cuff of his jacket, face angled toward the window as if the sight barely interested him.

“Of course this. What did you expect? A clearance rack?”

Her jaw dropped. “You could’ve just said, ‘buy a blazer, Miss Rossi

The chaos from upstairs simmered down after a few minutes, but the air inside Elena’s living room didn’t lighten. It only grew heavier.Isabella and the two in-laws were locked in a staredown.Elena tried to mend the atmosphere, voice thin, fingers twisting in her apron. “Vanessa… even if you leave them here, where would they sleep? There’s barely space. Isabella takes the couch already, and Daniel—”“Daniel has a room, doesn’t he?” Vanessa cut her off sharply, arms folding. Her eyes glittered with the satisfaction of cornering prey. “Perfect. My boys will stay there. After all, this is my brother’s house. His nephews should have priority.”Elena’s lips parted, shocked and Isabella just kept sneering. “But… Daniel needs his room. He studies late, and—”“They’re children, Elena. Children need more care than some college boy who should be living on campus cramming books.” Vanessa’s tone dripped with self-righteousness. “You can’t seriously mean to put my sons on the floor while Daniel

Margot’s eyes flickered toward the window, watching the bodyguards carry in the next load, and her heart gave a jolt. The thought of the man behind all this.Vincent Sinclair—rose in her mind like a blazing sun.Such a heavenly figure… untouchable… the kind of man entire families bow to.And Isabella? Next to him? Even as a secretary. The very idea was obscene in her mind.Elena wiped her palms on her apron, nervousness thrumming through her veins. She forced herself to step forward, voice quiet. “Isabella… all this, is it… really okay?”Isabella’s smile faltered. Her confusing feelings and erratic heartbeat slowly went away. She looked away, cheeks burning. “It’s not what it looks like. He insisted I take them. I couldn’t refuse.”But her words barely registered. Vanessa was already calculating, resentment simmering. Isabella finished from a third rate university… and yet she’s living like this? While I—Her lips thinned into a line sharp enough to cut.Truth was, she could count on

The squeak of bicycle wheels echoed faintly from the street outside, mixing with the shrieks of two children tumbling through Elena Rossi’s modest living room.“Careful!” Elena’s voice rose for the third time, though she knew it was useless. The boys—six and nine—were a whirlwind of toy cars, sticky fingers, half-shouted arguments and snotty cries.Their mother lounged on the sofa, scrolling her phone, not lifting a finger. “They’re just playing,” she said breezily. "It's what kids their age do. Have your own and you'll understand."Elena forced a smile, though her hands tightened on the tea tray she was carrying. Of course. Her sister-in-law always had reasons to drop her children here to 'keep her company'. And it was always a problem if she reprimanded them even a little bit.And as if that weren’t enough, Elena’s mother-in-law sat primly in the armchair by the window, eyes sharp, judging every speck of dust, every crease in Elena’s blouse.“This house feels smaller every time I v

She waited for him to turn around then looked him straight in the eyes, "You know. You can fire me at any time."Don't insult me or bring up your sister She tried to walk past him but her ankle wobbled too far. She caught herself on a marble pillar, cheeks burning. In an instant, Vincent was there. He didn’t ask—he simply set a hand at her elbow, steady and unyielding, steering her toward a leather bench tucked near the display.“Sit.”“I don’t need your help.”“Sit, Miss Rossi.”The tone left no space for argument. She sank down, quiet. And then he crouched. Her breath caught as Vincent Sinclair—chairman, untouchable, knelt before her, long fingers closing around her ankle. Heat shot up her leg at the contact. He eased the heel off, inspecting the strap with clinical precision, as if even her blister was a problem to solve. Then his thumb brushed against the reddened skin at the back of her heel. She jolted. “I—I can fix it myself—”“Clearly not.” His voice was low, calm. Too calm.

  • Accidental Night with the Boss   Chapter 18: Polyester and Coffee Mugs

“Okay. Coffee,” Isabella whispered to herself. “Just… coffee. How hard can it be?”The answer revealed itself five minutes later when she discovered the coffee machine in the private lounge—a chrome monstrosity with more buttons than a spaceship.Ugh. She's been embarrassed enough for one day.She pressed one button. Steam hissed. She pressed another. Something gurgled ominously. By the time liquid actually poured out, her nerves were shot. She picked up the mug, too fast. The handle was hot.“Ahh!”The mug wobbled, coffee sloshed over her fingers, and she bit back a yelp. She set it down in a panic, shaking her hand. Red marks were already rising across her skin.“Smooth start, Isabella,” she muttered, running cold water over her hand. Her stomach twisted. What if he notices? He’s absolutely going to notice. 'He's so going to mock me about this.' She thought. What if I just… never bring it to him? No. He asked for coffee. It’s just coffee. Go.She carried the cup carefully into his
