TCG: Chapter 31

I stared at the huge statue that Evander had fished out of the water. It looked exactly like the same one I saw in my dream when I was drowning in the ocean.

"So nothing?" Evander asked as he put his hands on his hips waiting expectedly.

I slowly shook my head and gave him an apologetic look, "No, I can't sense anything. It's just stone," I shrugged and he sighed as he dropped his head.

"Just stone?" He squeaked out as he kicked a rock on the ground. "She's just stone!"

"Maybe it needs sacrifice?" I tried and he looked up at me amused but mostly annoyed.

"What kind of crappy neighborhood did you grow up in? Sacrifice? No, her stone body won't crack because her soul isn't here anymore," he said as he pointed between me and the stone.

"Well, where is her soul?" I asked amused at how stressed he was about all of this.

"It was in you, it's probably buried deep somewhere in all that anguish you keep to yourself."
