CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: TANGLED WEB OF DECEPTION

Tracy’s POV

After Zelda left, anger surged through my veins like molten lava. How dare she spout such lies about Alpha Nathan? I couldn't let her tarnish our chance at happiness. The maids around me trembled nervously, sensing the tension thickening in the room.

"Pour the water on me," I commanded sharply, my frustration seeping into my voice. The maids hurriedly complied, dipping their hands into the water and splashing it over my body. They were clearly on edge, fully aware of the potential consequences of Zelda's words.

As the cool water cascaded over me, I scolded them, my words carrying a warning. "None of you will utter a single word about what Zelda said. If anyone betrays my trust, you will face severe consequences."

Their voices quivered as they chorused their agreement, their fear palpable in the air. But amidst their compliance, one of the maids stood defiantly, her eyes blazing with stubborn resolve. I locked eyes with her, my patience waning rapidly.
