I woke up in a sterile hospital room, my head throbbing with pain. The harsh fluorescent lights burned my eyes as I tried to adjust to my surroundings. I felt a weight on my chest and looked down to see a drip connected to my arm. The medicine flowed into my body, numbing the pain and making me feel drowsy.
As I looked around the room, I saw my parents sitting in plastic chairs by the window. Their faces were stern and unforgiving, and I knew that I was in trouble. They started scolding me the moment they saw me wake up.
"How could you do this to us, honey?" my mother exclaimed, her voice filled with disappointment. "Getting pregnant out of wedlock? What will people say?"
I felt my heart sink. I had always been the perfect daughter, following all the rules and making my parents proud. But now, I had messed everything up by getting pregnant by the Alpha's son, and I wanted to marry him.
"How could you blow a golden opportunity to get married to Alpha Apollo!? I heard he just came back to town last night!" My father roared. His words caught me by surprise. I was—I was supposed to get married to Alpha Apollo? How was that possible?
“But you guys said, I was supposed to get married to Alpha Nicholas…what do you mean by Alpha Apollo, I don’t understand.” I muttered. They both sighed and exchanged glances.
“We also thought Alpha Nicholas was going to marry you but it turned out he wants you to get married to his son, he was messing with us when he said you were going to get married to him, because he hasn’t told his son about the marriage yet…” My father’s voice trailed off as the door opened and a royal servant walked in, followed by Apollo.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw him walking towards me. He was tall and imposing, with a menacing aura that made me feel both scared and excited. It was him - the man I had a one night stand with, the stranger I fell in love with.
"Mate!!" Lexa stirred inside me, screaming those words in my head. I felt like I was in a dream, one that I didn't want to wake up from.
Apollo stood by my bed, his eyes cold and distant. "I wanted to marry you because a Seer told me you were my mate," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.
I felt a mix of fear and disappointment wash over me. I had always dreamed of finding my mate, or having someone who would love me unconditionally. But now, it seemed like my mate was cold and distant, someone who didn't care about my feelings.
As my parents were kicked out of the room by the royal servant, I was left alone with Apollo.
"..." I tried to speak, to ask him what was going on, but the words got stuck in my throat. I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare, one that I couldn't escape from.
As I looked into his blue eyes, I could see the anger, the hatred burning in them. I couldn't believe that the man I loved was calling me names.
"You're a whore, Zelda! How could you get pregnant with someone else's child?" He spat out, his voice filled with betrayal.
"It's your child, Apollo. Please believe me," I pleaded, tears streaming down my face.
"I don't believe you. You're just trying to trap me into taking care of someone else's kid," he sneered.
My heart shattered into a million pieces. How could he think that of me? How could he be so cruel? "Please, Apollo. I love you. I would never do anything to hurt you or our child."
But his words were like a sharp knife, piercing through my heart. "Love? You don't know the meaning of the word. You're nothing but a lying, cheating whore."
“I, Alpha Apollo Philips Giavonni reject you, Zelda Annabel MacDonald as my mate,”
My wolf howled in pain as I felt the rejection. The pain was too much to bear, and I passed out on the bed, unable to withstand the agony.

As the heart-wrenching scene played in my head again and again, I lay lifeless on the hospital bed, my heart and soul shattered into a million pieces. Swiftly, I heard footsteps approaching my room. Panicking, I quickly wiped away my tears and took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. The door creaked open and my parents walked in, their faces etched with concern.
"Honey, are you okay?" My mother asked, gently placing a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded, unable to speak. My father spoke up, his voice stern. "We won't let anything happen to you, we will find a way around this mess, Zelda. You're family, and we take care of our own."
I looked up, grateful for their support. "Thank you," I whispered, my voice barely audible.
"Apollo is just upset right now," my mother said, trying to explain his behavior. "He doesn't mean what he said. We'll talk to him and make him forgive you, or ask him if he wants you to abort the baby."
I nodded, feeling a small glimmer of hope in my heart. Maybe things would work out after all.

I rubbed my bleary eyes, feeling the remnants of yesterday's sadness still clinging to me like a heavy coat. Slowly, I turned my head to the side, taking in the warm, comforting presence of my teddy bear lying beside me. As I shifted to sit up, a sharp pain shot through my body, causing me to gasp and clutch at my belly in agony.
I heard voices from the living room. I struggled to stand, using the wall for support as I made my way to the door. Peering through the small gap I had made, I could see Apollo talking to my parents. My heart clenched as I heard him say that he wanted me out of the house. I couldn't believe that the man I loved had turned on me so quickly without any remorse.
Tears filled my eyes as I stepped away from the door, my legs shaking as I collapsed onto the bed. I buried my face in my hands and cried, feeling the weight of the world crashing down on me. I tried to be strong, assuring myself that my parents would never abandon me.
My parents barged into my room after my evil mate had left.
I shook my head, unable to believe what I was hearing. My father spoke up, his voice cold and unfeeling.
"We can't have you here anymore, Zelda. You're no longer welcome in this house." I stared at him, unable to comprehend what had changed. This had been my home for my entire life, and now I was being thrown out like a piece of garbage.
"Alpha Apollo is right," my mother said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You've caused too much trouble for this family. It's time for you to leave." Feeling a crushing weight in my chest, I knew there was nothing I could say to change their minds. With tears streaming down my face, I sat on the bed, heartbroken and alone.
Tracy showed up at my house unannounced, surprising me as I was packing my things. "Hey girl, you need some help?" she asked, grabbing one of my suitcases. I nodded gratefully, feeling a lump form in my throat. As she carried my luggage to her car and put it in the back truck, she tried to lighten the mood. "This is like a road trip, except we're not coming back," she joked. I forced a smile, but the reality of the situation was weighing heavily on me.Tracy noticed my mood and put a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Hey, it's gonna be okay," she said. "You're always welcome in my house, no matter what your parents say."I felt grateful for her words, but also a little guilty for imposing on her. "Are you sure it’s, okay?" I asked. "I don't want to be a burden."Tracy shook her head. "You're not a burden, Zel. You're my friend, and I'm here for you." Her kindness made me feel a little better, but I couldn't shake off the sadness of leaving everything behind. As we drove away, I couldn'
As I walked along the deserted road, my thoughts consumed me, and I found myself cursing my mate and the moon goddess for all my misfortunes. After spending a month at the shelter, I was kicked out when Apollo found out I was there. My baby bump was huge down and I was getting tired just walking. I had nowhere else to go, so I decided to go to my ex-boyfriend's place. I was lost in my thoughts and didn't realize I was walking in the middle of the road.I heard the sound of a car approaching, and before I could react, a man appeared out of nowhere, pulled me off the road, and saved my life. I was startled and turned to look at him, but his face was hidden in the shadows."What the hell were you doing in the middle of the road?" he asked, his voice sharp. That was when I realized it was Alpha Ryder.I tried to compose myself before answering. "I...I was just walking. I had nowhere else to go."The Ryder’s tone softened when he saw my distress. "Get in my car. I'll take you somewhere saf
Apollo’s POVI released Ryder, who was pinned to the wall with my claws digging into his skin. He coughed up blood and glared at me, but I ignored him. My attention was on Zelda, who was packing her clothes as I had instructed her. I couldn't bear to look at her. She had become pregnant by another man and was pretending to be innocent. I despised women like her.I had been trying to break her, to make her beg for my forgiveness on her knees, just like her parents wanted. But she was still resisting. She was afraid of me, and that pleased me.Without wasting a moment, I took out my car keys and grabbed her hand tightly. She fought back, but a single glare from me was enough to make her calm down. The warriors and servants watched as we left the packhouse. They respected me, for I was the soon-to-be alpha of my pack.We entered the garage, and I dragged her towards my car. She struggled, but I held her firmly. I opened the door and pushed her inside. She fell onto the seat, and I got in
The person in the car stepped out, revealing himself to be Ryder. He was holding Zelda's bag, the one I didn't let her take with her. I had hoped she would beg me to take her back, but now I couldn't care less about her."Ryder, what the fuck are you doing here?" I asked impatiently. We faced each other in the middle of the road, our anger simmering. I could sense that Ryder was looking for a fight, but I knew I was stronger than him, so I tried to reason with him."What are you doing here, Ryder?" I asked calmly. He stepped forward, his fists clenched at his sides. "Where is she, Apollo?" he growled.I held up my hand to try and placate him. "She's safe," I said. "I put her in a hotel."Ryder narrowed his eyes. "How do I know you're telling the truth?" he demanded.I shrugged. "Believe what you want," I said. "But it's true. I bought her everything she needs so she doesn't need that bag you're holding."Ryder looked down at the bag in his hand, then back up at me. "You're a heartless
Zelda’s POVIt was a dark, cold night, and my baby bump was causing me pain as my unborn child kicked furiously within my stomach. I was hungry and thirsty, but I had nothing to eat or drink. Apollo had thrown me out of Ryder's packhouse without even letting me take my things or have a shower. I waited for him to come back, hoping he would realize his mistake, but I was losing hope.I tried my best not to cry, but my eyes filled with tears anyway. I sat on the cold floor for what felt like an hour, but I didn't know what time it was. The cars on the road had slowed down, and there weren't many anymore. My legs ached.Suddenly, a passerby stopped in front of me. He was a man, and he extended a sandwich to me, thinking I was a street beggar. I felt awful, but I accepted it. As soon as I did, other pack members started walking past me, throwing money at me. Before I knew it, I had unintentionally become a pregnant street beggar who had been neglected by my mate and family. The sandwich w
I was lying on the bed, taking the vitamin pills prescribed by the doctor to keep my baby healthy, when Ryder entered the room."Alpha, you weren't supposed to enter yet," the doctor said. "But since you're the father of her baby, I understand your actions."Embarrassed, I blushed as the doctor referred to Ryder as the father of my child, even though he wasn't. For some reason, I found myself wishing he was the real father. Apollo was a jerk. The doctor instructed Ryder to take good care of me and ensure I ate enough fruit. He also warned him to make sure I didn't get exposed to cold again, as it was not good for the baby in my womb."Is there anything else I should be doing to take care of her and the baby?" Ryder asked. The doctor hesitated before telling him that our baby wasn't very healthy. Ryder clenched his fist in anger, visibly upset."What can we do to ensure the baby's health?" Ryder asked tensely."The baby will be born in a few months," the doctor said. "By then, she shou
“In the morning, I followed your scent to a hotel and got you out of there, leaving the girl a note and money since she was still asleep,” Seth said, his voice low. I knew Seth was talking about me, but I knew they wouldn’t believe it if I said anything, so I just listened. We drove in silence after that, the tension between them palpable. As Apollo and I entered the packhouse, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer grandeur of it all. The spotless marble floors and the crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling illuminated the living room. I had always heard rumors about how luxurious the packhouse was, but seeing it firsthand was an entirely different experience. Ryder couldn't come in with us because Hazel called him, and he left early. Alpha Nicholas greeted me warmly and took my hand, kissing it gently. Although he was kind, I couldn't help but feel guilty for being here with his son when I had thought I was supposed to marry him. As we walked further into the pack
Labor felt endless, the ruthless rain pounding against the windows, echoing the chaos within my body. Thunder rumbled, shaking the room's very foundations, and adding to the mess unfolding around me. Pain overcame me, radiating from every fiber of my being, making it impossible to concentrate on anything else. The male doctor and pack maids rushed to assist me, their efforts seemingly in vain. My forehead glistened with sweat, and my heart pounded in my chest. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the moment arrived. Exhausted and weak, I lay on the bed, desperately trying to catch my breath. Yet, my relief was short-lived. Apollo stormed into the room, his eyes devoid of warmth. Tension crackled in the air as he approached the bed, hooked on our newborn son. It was as if he sought evidence, some form of proof that the child was truly his. "Little bird, step aside," Apollo commanded with harshness, his gaze piercing our innocent baby boy on the bed. Weak and confused, I sat
