Harlyn

We were both escorted to a waiting car and the drive to the clinic where the injured pack members were didn’t take up to five minutes.

“Alpha,”

A voice said when we got to the entrance of the clinic. Even though I hadn’t had him speak a lot, I recognized his voice. Theo. The beta of the sub-pack who got attacked. He was tall and slim with a masculinity that didn’t rob off on me nicely. When his eyes came to me, I felt the need to hide behind Bernardo who noticed my discomfort and growled at him. He quickly averted his eyes.

“What happened here, Theo?”

Bernardo asked.

“An attack!”

Theo answered. He sounded disrespectful. He didn’t even greet Bernardo properly even though he should have. But Bernardo didn’t seem to mind so I didn’t give it much thought.

“How could you let something like that happen? Where were you when your pack members were attacked and how come you didn’t involve the council of elders and other betas?”

Bernardo growled.
