CHAPTER 6

"Shit... Seriously?" Kheed reacted worried to what he heard, while the young man who caused it showed no reaction at all.

"The crash was so intense that some tissues from her brain ruptured that the doctor had to operate on her for twenty hours straight; it's a miracle she's still alive considering how badly she was injured," Lucas added.

"What about her face? Does she have scars?" Kheed inquired once more. "Are you seriously still thinking about her face?"

"Why? Only a few people are blessed with that kind of face, it is necessary to care about it,"

Lucas responded with a shake of his head. "In any case, this remains a problem for us; the longer she remains in a coma, the longer we must wait."

"Do we also have to pause our operations?" Kheed inquired.

"I guess we should stay low for the time being until we can fix this mess."

"How about the Asano? Have you heard anything from them? Did they do anything after their supposed trading failed?" Kheed inquired once more.

"Their clan remains quiet and elusive as if they don't want the X Organization to know what happened, but the Lopez are still actively looking for the person who stole their wealth, and the investigation into what happened is still ongoing," Lucas responded once more.

Kheed nodded, understanding the situation, just like their leader, who appears to be working but his mind is on the operation and the mistake he made.

He is supposed to focus on their operation, but due to a single miscalculation, he has to halt their mission when they finally collide with the clan they have been keeping an eye on for a long time. The reason he entered this world of violence, the clan that murdered his parents, and the one he wishes to punish.

Luther's grip on the paper was too tight causing it to crumble. His two friends saw it and exchanged glances, knowing how the young man felt about the situation, but there was nothing they could do but wait for the girl to regain consciousness before proceeding to the mission.

Ignoring their friend, Kheed returned to his phone, hoping to play his games, when he noticed a message from their allied group.

"Dude, you're not going to believe this," he said as he displayed the message he had received.

"Looks like we made a big impression," Lucas said after reading the message.

According to the message, that clan's actions have always been hidden in all of their operations, but after hijacking the supposed trading with the Lopez, they unexpectedly made a move. They're looking for someone and they only have one person in mind: themselves.

"You've always wanted this, haven't you? It finally came true," Lucas said seeing how a smile formed on his friend's lips.

"It did come true, but then has to be paused," Kheed said, taking the young CEO's smile away.

"You know, we have to take precautions; it's not safe to proceed with a problem, and I think it's better that way, so they go crazy looking for us," Lucas said while standing up and peering through the office glass window. "And that way, we could think more about our next step," Kheed responded with a nod while there was no other reaction from Luther other than his natural no expression.

The day passed, and instead of going to the underground where the secret meetings with the X Organization were taking place, they went to Lucas' family's private resthouse. They walk right into where the woman is sleeping.

"How is she?" Lucas inquired at the doctor on duty. "Our patient remains unconscious, and no one knows when she will awaken; only she can help herself."

Except for the reason why the woman was unconscious, the two young men sighed. The young man's face is devoid of pity, but it is filled with annoyance. Irritated that they cannot continue the operation while it is in this state.

"How is her face, doc? Are there any scars? Oh, doc! Please! Don't waste her gorgeous face!" Kheed said making the doctor chuckle. "Don't worry, we're doing everything for the girl and we, too, will be sorry if it permanently scars her."

"Thank God! I'm really nervous!" Kheed exclaimed, sighing.

Lucas shook his head as he looked at his friend. "Speaking of her scars, there's something you should know about," the two waited for the doctor to speak again. "In addition to the injuries he sustained in the collision, we discovered fractured bones in some parts of his body that surprisingly varied in many time frames."

"What exactly do you mean?" Lucas inquired.

"She appears to have been physically abused," the two young men looked at the girl, who was still unconscious. "Looks like poverty has not treated her well," Kheed lamented as he looked at the girl.

"But who would do such a thing to her?"

"Couldn't it be her family? It's been two days, and we haven't heard of anyone looking for their daughter," Kheed speculated. "Perhaps, but we don't know for sure."

"Why don't we just let her stay with us and keep quiet about her whereabouts?" Kheed proposed.

"We can't do that; we already hit her with a car, and now you want to kidnap her? We'll make things worse."

"You're the one who hit the girl?" The doctor was surprised. With a sigh, the young man could only nod. "However, it was an accident."

"It appears that you are driving fast and recklessly, causing massive damage to the woman's body; be careful next time," the doctor said, shaking her head.

The two young men responded with a nod, while the person who had caused their problem was still staring at the woman, wondering how they could wake her up. He heard what the doctor said about the girl, but it wasn't his problem anymore. He is more concerned about their mission than the girl's private life.

The doctor had left, and the three young men remained in the room. While the woman is still unconscious, thinking of their next move. "I really think we should keep her; she's in danger," Kheed said, sitting beside the girl's head.

" You know we can't; she has family and if we do, she'll know about us and our operation will be exposed." Lucas strongly disagrees.

"They don't even care about her!" Kheed exclaimed. "Is your attraction to women really that bad that you want to hide her?" Lucas was irritated by his friend's incomprehension. "No, I just don't want her to get hurt again... she might die," the young man replied weakly.

Lucas sighed as he realized what his friend was saying. "Is it Stacey?" he asked, uttering the name of the young man's most important person. He didn't say anything and just stared at the girl. "It may have happened to Stacy, but that doesn't mean it will happen to others," Lucas explained.

"That's what I said when I told her not to get involved with those fvcking lovebirds," Kheed's eyes were filled with pain. He didn't want to revisit the painful past, but due to the girl's condition, what he had long wanted to forget returned.

Lucas did not respond when he saw his friend's expression. He is a fun and mischievous guy, but his mood shifts whenever that girl's name is mentioned.

The young CEO simply observed and listened to the two's exchange of words while making his own decisions. "I think he's right; we should keep her."

"What? Are you insane?" Lucas asked, shocked and irritated, but the young man's expression remained unchanged. "She saw my face, and if we're serious about controlling the situation, we should keep her close."

"But she has a family! How are we going to explain that to them?"

"Then think of an excuse we can use to keep her with us; that's your job," he said, adding another problem for Lucas. He understands his point, but hiding the girl is riskier; they could be charged with kidnapping, and the girl could discover Luther's secret identity. "There's no way we could come up with an excuse—-"

" How about we tell them she's in a relationship with one of us?" Kheed cut Lucas off. "No, no, no. That's the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard," Lucas replied, shaking his head.

" Why? That's the most natural reason a girl would stay with a guy," Kheed explained. "He's right," Luther agreed, surprising both of them. Luther's only thought was to make sure her mouth was shut.

" See, I told you, dude! My idea is good!"

"Then that wouldn't be me; I won't be dealing with it," Lucas explained, not because he didn't like the girl, but because he didn't want someone to find it out.

"I'd be happy to do it—-"

"No, you are more than dangerous when it comes to girls; I wouldn't be surprised if she gets pregnant with her current situation," Lucas said, shaking his head.

"That's fcking gross! I'm not going to do that!"

"It's better to be cautious; perhaps instead of getting chargers of reckless driving and kidnapping, we'll be charged more with rape."

"Ugh, you're so strict, who do you like then? Him? He has no interest in women!" Kheed pointed to the young man standing nearby. "Do not include me in that."

"Why not? after all, you are the one who created this problem and you agree with Kheed's idea, don't you?" Lucas asked grinning while Luther strongly shook his head, "Hell no!"
