Getting married

(Getting married)

Chapter 2

Emily's long and lonely night continued.

She never thought Richard could hurt her this much.

Emily was drunk to the extent she could hardly balance herself on the stool.

With bloodshot eyes and a messy look, she stared at the bartender who rolled up his sleeves to his elbow.

"I'm sure that you know wearing a wedding gown while coming to a bar isn't the appropriate outfit as it will grab you so many attention"

Said the bartender but instead of speaking to him, she exhaled resting her head on the counter.

"At least it would do the trick of 'I'm not in the mood to talk'"

Emily said directing her statement to him.

" You know, I have a cousin who was once in your state"

Emily's attention which was on a couple flew to the bartender who stood there with a wine glass and a napkin in his hand.

" What happened to her? Did her groom abandoned her?" She asked seeming interested in the conversation.

The bartender nodded and when a person walked up to the counter ordering a drink, he excused himself but returned to her afterwards.

" Then what? Did she kill herself?"

She asked as tht was her thought at the moment.

" Of course not. Infact, after the wedding she continued with her life and fortunately for her she came across a good man" he explained.

Instead of Emily to be motivated, she simply scoffed at him.

Meanwhile, while Emily sat there talking to the bartender, the manager of the bar was making everything perfect for a special someone.

Mr Damien Wilder.

Shortly after he was informed on his arrival,

People as well as employees who were making everything in order paved way for the almighty Damien Wilder to walk through.

He wasn't alone as he was accompanied by three men walking behind him.

One of which was Garry Smith.

His family name was known as his grandfather was the leader of the central authorities.

"A piece of advice, do something crazy" the bartender said leaning forward on the counter.

Emily who had him couldn't help ask

"What?!" In a loud voice.

"It helps me alot because when I do so, I completely forget about my worries. Other than trying to end your life why don't you do something crazy. It will surely get your mind off your problem" he suggested.

Emily laughed at his words but sitting there and giving it a little thought, she felt he was right.

Doing something crazy might actually just help her.

At least it would do the trick of forgetting the pain and hurt Richard had inflicted on her.

" What do you suggest?" She asked for the bartender to shrug.

He had seen girls say they want to have a night stand with a stranger.

He had always thought that was crazy but he couldn't advice her to do so as he wouldn't be able to advice his own sister to do so.

"It should come from you. What crazy idea can you think of?" He asked.

While her mind rampaged on things to do, she turned to see some of the people in the bar to have their attention towards the entrance while some simply sat there discussing and looking towards the entrance where she was able to see a handsome devil dressed in black tuxedo, behind him were three men.

She did want to get her mind of Richard and so standing to her feet and without hesitation, she went to stand in front of him.

Loud gasps were heard when Emily smashed her lips on his.

The bartender who from a distance watched the happenings around him was shocked.

When he had told her to do something crazy, he didn't expect her to go and kiss Mr Damien Wilder.

Damien halted on seeing Emily stand in front of him but what happened next took him completely unawares.

The creature, had kissed him.

The kiss was a brief one that ignited a strange feeling in him.

One that he hadn't felt in a while.

Emily broke the kiss looking at the pair of blue eyes that greeted her.

His sculpture like features and well defined frame were enough to make any woman drool over him.

Damien who had a Petit woman in his arms frowned.

His number one rule was no woman was allowed to be near him or even touch him without his permission and here this woman was kissing him.

Her head lifted up for him to see a pair of beautiful hazel eyes with tears brimming in them.

She looked troubled with her disheveled hair.

It was then he realized she was wearing a white wedding gown that had the Hem of it turned brown probably due to the mud and dirt from the streets she walked in.

With the way she dressed, she sure did attract everyone's attention.

Her eyes had turned red from the countless tears she had spilled.

" Take her away" he heard Garry say and when one of his men stepped forward to pull her away from him, he shot them a deadly glare. One saying ' DO NOT TOUCH'

Garry found this surprising as he knew Damien's number one rule.

Emily who still felt the constant pain in her heart staggered away from the stranger moving back to the counter.

" It didn't work" she muttered to herself.

" Pour me another glass" she sleazily demanded holding up the glass but Instead the bartender stared at her in awe.

Not wanting to be associated with her anymore for she might bring trouble to him, he shook his head.

"Moron" she muttered.

"You should go home now" urged the bartender.

Emily simply chuckled and shot him a long glance.

" Don't lecture me. Please give me one more drink. Please"

She pleaded like her life depended on it but still the bartender wasn't willing to give in to her demands.

"No. You are not going to have anything else now leave!"

He said, his tone slightly authoritative.

Emily feeling a presence behind her turned to see a man there.

" Don't worry, I'll show her out"

The cunning smile that danced on the man's lips along with the way he stared at the Petit bride was evident that he didn't have any good intentions towards her.

" Leave me alone" she whispered pushing him to the side.

Staggering, she got up trying to make her way to the exit of the bar but like a fly, the man wouldn't stop following her.

He kept searching for ways to touch her but each time, Emily would Dodge all his aims.

" You might fall sweety pie" he said biting his lower lips seductively.

Knowing what he had going on in that brain of his, Emily didn't hesitate to land a brain setting slap to his face.

" Never call me that!" She spat.

"Men like you are the worst. First of all, I got left at the alter and then you come to me with stupid intention. You are all cowards" she yelled.

With anger blazing in the man's eyes, he made to hit her for slapping him but his movements were prohibited when he felt some one hold his hand and in the next instant, a blow met his face resulting to blood dripping from the sides of his lips.

" You should learn to respect women. If she said you should leave her be, then obey her"

Another punch was landed on his face.

The man shook his head staring at the one who dared to hit him.

In his attempt to retaliate, two men dressed in suite stepped forward pinning him down on the nearby table.

" What should we do with him boss?" Said one of them.

" What else? Deal with him"

He said shrugging his shoulders.

With both men nodding their head, they dragged him out only for the man to plead to them to spare his life.

Damien who had ordered his body guard to deal with the man stepped towards the girl who in her attempt to leave, was held back by him.

"Thank you" she said thinking that was why he held her hand but even after her words, his firm grip seized her wrist.

She tried to free her wrist from his hand.

" You need to go home" he said and just then one of his body guard stepped in.

"I don't want to and you can't force me"

" I wasn't asking you. It was a command" he said making Emily frown.

Who was he to command her?

Exhaling, he gave a sign to the guard which stood close to him and in a matter of seconds, Emily was lifted off the ground heading towards the exit of the bar.

Once they got out, she was placed back on the ground.

" Do you want to kidnap me?" She asked a little terrified with their actions.

" If you kidnap me just make sure to kill me off. My life isn't worth living"

She stood on her feet bringing her hands forward thinking they would tie her up.

"I don't do that. You must really be frustrated with life to want such fate"

The tears which had dried up from her face submerged till she couldn't hold it and she let it fall down her cheeks.

" No one wants me in their life. No one would want to marry me" she said and then, her eyes lit up as an absurd question popped up.

" Would you marry me?" Her question surprised the guard who stood behind Damien.

He held his laughter preventing him from receiving a glare from his boss.

Damien on the other hand still had his usual calm demeanor, her question didn't surprise him.

" Do you really want to get married" he asked staring her straight in the eyes.

" Yes"

The guard continued to seize his laughter which only seemed to increase because of the girl's attitude.

She was indeed drunk to ask such question.

But his laughter abruptly seized as he was shocked along with the other guard who after dealing with the man came to meet them.

"Yes, I will marry you" he answered.

Emily could hear a gasp leave the lips of one of the men who stood behind Damien.

In her drunk state she was over joyed but was he truely going to marry her?

Was he playing with her feelings?

" You are lying"

Her face turned into a frown before a tear broke from her eyes.

" I'm not" he simply said placing both hands in his pocket while he watched the wind tussle her hair to her face.

" You are willing to get married to me?" Emily asked in an unbelieving state.

A loud laughter passed through her lips.

The drink must have hit her hard to be imagining this.

"Don't tell me you have changed your mind?" She heard him ask.

It was then her laughter seized, he truely said yes.

Still In her state of disbelief, she continued.

" When are we going to going to get married?" She asked.

" Today" he answered making a frown to settle on her face.

She lifted her head to the sky to see the atmosphere which looked like it would rain soon.

" It would rain soon"

The thunder roared startling her.

" It doesn't matter"

" Where?" She asked.

"Where else? In a chapel. If you are done with your questions, we can go to the chapel now"

Damien ushered Emily away from the bar towards his car where they drove to the chapel.

Emily didn't know if she was imagining it or not because of her drunk state but all she knew was that she was getting married.
