The proposal 2

ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED A BILLIONAIRE

(Proposal 2)

" I want you to be my wife"

Trying to assimilate what she heard him say, her lips parted, her eyes keenly on him as she replied.

" No" she said.

She watched him hoping to see a look of disappointment but none of that plastered his face.

His confidence didn't waver but instead, a smirk pulled up his lips.

Emily who had her gaze at him couldn't stop ogling him, she was sure he had bedded so many women but one thought came to mind and that was how God could have created such a fine piece.

"So quick to reply. Don't you think that you should at least let me finish?

Or are you in a rush to end your life again?" he asked.

A frown paved way up her forehead, she dragged her chair back standing up from her spot but when she turned to leave, she found two hefty men blocking her path.

She moved back when one of them gestured her to seat which she did.

" I'm not your wife and all this is a mistake. We can get an annulment and then go our separate ways"

Suggested Emily.

" I don't want a divorce miss Emily"

Said Damien, his eyes Peircing Into hers. Emily who couldn't handle the intensity at which he stared at her, looked away.

"I'm not going to change my mind"

Her eyes held no doubt of her words.

She said pulling the ring on her finger, with a little pull and twist, the ring came off and she dropped it on the table.

"Look here, I have a deal to propose and I think you might like it"

" Does it involve being your wife?" She asked, her hands going to cross on her chest.

" Yes" he simply said.

" I'm not interested. Why do you want me to be your wife? You barely know me besides, isn't marriage supposed to made out of love?

I neither know you, neither do I love you"

" Exactly and that's the reason why I want you to be my wife.

You don't have to love me"

Emily's confusion intensified at his words.

She didn't understand what sort of a person would go into a loveless marriage.

One of the hefty men stepped forward pulling a document from the brief case he held, dropping it in front of her to take a look at.

Emily read glanced through the document and in it, she found some terms to keep.

"In this Marriage, party A and party B are completely strangers to each other except in public where party B have to act as a wife to party A

_No intrusion of privacy of each party.

_At the end of three months, both party can he free of the marriage and left to live their independent lives.

_ In the moment where party A and party B stays together, Party B shouldn't seek for love and affection from party A likewise party A" she read.

Emily continued to glance at the long list of demand.

From what she was reading so far, it seemed like something she could do.

At last, she raised her head to see Damien who glanced at his expensive gold wrist watch.

He looked extremely rich.

"What if I say no?" She asked.

" I believe the question is supposed to be what you will get in turn?"

Dealing with humans in the business world, Damien got to learn that everyone has a price and nothing comes for free.

"In turn, as your payment, you can state whatever price you want. Be it money or anything.

I'm aware of your mother's condition and surely you won't want such opportunity to go to waste" he continued.

His offer was in deed tempting and mouth watering but Emily have had her share in men.

" I..."

She heard him speak interrupting her right before she could make a full sentence.

" Before you make your decision, why don't you think about it"

She was extremely speechless, in her situation where she was almost helpless she couldn't help but wonder if he was for real.

"I... I don't know. I don't think there's anything to think about"

Her feet straightened out as she stood ready to take her leave.

Damien was in deed surprised with her rejection but didn't let his emotions to be seen.

He didn't expect her to reject him seeing so many girls were willing to lay down their life for him.

If it were other girls, with his offer, there were willing to jump right into it but she was different.

This only piqued his interest about her.

" You will be surprised. Just in case you change your mind, Meet me at the bar. The one in which you immersed yourself in alcohol"

He teased looking at her expression.

" Or rather still you can simply call me"

One of the hefty men stepped forward to drop a card on the table.

At first, Emily was hesitant to take it and when she finally did she found it to be a gold plated card making her stare at him in awe.

But in the end, she bid him goodbye.

Just then, he picked up the glass cup drinking from it.

His confidence seemed to be in intact.

" Sir Should we continue your search for a wife"Garry who had been listening asked for Damien to reply.

"No, it won't be necessary now that I'm married. Get me informations about her" he spoke still staring at the direction she left.

Emily who Without wasting any second dashed out and went into the hospital.

She was left on her wedding day and out of no where she got married to a stranger.

The entire day passed with Emily staying beside her mother in the hospital.

Her mother's condition kept her thinking all through the day till she was ready to depart home.

She also thought about the offer that was presented to her.

She wasn't sure if she did the right thing by rejecting the offer but to get married to a man she barely knew was really strange for her.

What if he was a kidnapper?

This also added to her thoughts.

She was lost in thought to the extent that she wasn't able to hear her friend Calling her.

" Emily!"

The voice of her friend Tricia was heard as it drew closer to her at that point she turned to see her coming towards her direction in a fast pace.

" Tricia you are here. I thought you left"

Taking deep breaths, she tried to regain her normal breathing. Her brows creased together with her hands stretched towards her to playfully hit Emily's head.

"What's wrong with you? I have been shouting your name for a while now"

" I'm sorry about that. I didn't hear you call"

" I left and came back because I knew you would be here. Anyway, what kept you thinking to the extent you didn't hear me?" She asked but when Emily became hesitant to reply, Tricia could figure out that it was because of her mother's condition.

"Even without saying anything I know it's because of your mom. Here, I brought this for you"

Tricia reached her hand for her bag where she brought out a check of hundred thousand.

They continued their walk home.

"I know you urgently need the money and even if it's not half of it, at least it's something"

Her words tried to seem comforting.

Seeing this, Emily's eyes widened.

Definitely she couldn't accept this for she knew that the money was probably her family's savings.

" No, no. I can't take this. It won't be right"

" What wouldn't be right? Don't make me angry and take this"

Tricia said faking a frown that was more likely to turn to a real one.

"This is your savings"

" And I'm telling you to take it"

Holding on to Emily's hand, she placed the money on her palm.

The breeze blew pulling the leaves spread on the road with it.

It also sent a tingling feeling through Emily's body as the cold air hit her bare skin.

" Thank you" Emily muttered with hot tears filling the brim of her eyes. Tricia who didn't glance at her friend, knew that she was on the verge of crying, a sigh left her lips when she intertwined her arm in hers pulling her along in the process, making Emily's steps to quicken.

" Don't thank me. You are my friend and I'll do anything for you"

She smiled warmly reaching her fingers to clean the tears threatening to pour down her cheeks.

"You know... A man came to me earlier today. He said that he would give me any amount of money I need. Enough to clear my mother's bills and surgery"

" What?! That's good news but... Why? Why would a stranger want to help?"

Tricia's brows knitted together for in their era, it was impossible to see a person gingerly accepting to give out cash or accepting to help someone out of the blue.

Surely there must be a catch.

"He wants me to be his wife"

Just when the words were blurted out of her lips, Tricia's steps halted and her eyes instinctively went wide.

" What?!"

" That's not the shocking part yet. The things is that after I was abandoned by the altar, I mistakenly got married to a stranger. I don't remember much because I was drunk at the bar and..."

Emily wasn't able to complete her sentence when she was interrupted by Tricia's repeated words.

"Whoa! You got married to a stranger? You got married to a stranger?!" Emily nodded to her words.

The news came as a shock to Tricia.

After staring unbelievably at Emily, they continued their walk home.

" How is that even possible?"

Emily watched Tricia scratch her head trying to reason it out.

Emily stood there watching her best friend's reaction.

She was just as shocked as she was after finding out about the news.

"So what now?" She asked for Emily to shrug.

" I don't know. I'm supposed to call him"

From the bag hung on her shoulder, Emily brought out the card given to her earlier.

Tricia who quickly grabbed it was shocked at it's appearance.

It was a gold plated card!

" Wow, this is something. Damien Wilder" she read from it unsure of where she heard the name.

It sounded familiar to her but she couldn't figure out where she heard it from.

But looking at the card, she could tell whoever the person was, he was extremely rich.

" Are you going to call him?"

" I don't know. What if he is a kidnapper? Or...I don't know.

I thought about asking my step mother for the money for her surgery and maybe she might be compassionate to help out besides she helped in the past"

Tricia quickly shook her head dismissing the idea.

"Don't even think about it. Knowing your stepmom, she would rather have your mother die and you on seeing that will commit suicide leaving the property of your father all to her and that her stingy daughter. Have you forgotten all the things she has done to you?"

Tricia asked.

Their discussion ended on that note as Tricia bid Emily goodbye as they came to stand outside her apartment.

Emily went on further to her home.

Her steps halted when she found her stuff as well as her mother's being thrown out of the house.

Folds of skin formed on her forehead when she went to take a closer look on what was happening to get hold of two men going in and out of the house.

" What's going on here?!"

Her enraged voice was heard even her step mother who was inside heard her voice. The rage in it was clearly evident.

In an attempt to stop the men who continued to toss her bags outside, she was pushed to the side making her stumble backwards but luckily for her, she got her footings right.

"Stop! Who sent you?"

" I did"

Her step mother stepped forward with both hands on her waist.

" Why? You have no right to do this"

" Sweetie, I have all the right. Especially when your mother owes me alot"

She tossed the documents to her and after taking a glance at it, Emily couldn't believe her eyes.

" That's right. She owes ne and by that I mean alot"

She trailed on.

Emily remembered when her step mother was willing to help with the bills of her mother when her condition was critical.

Although she agreed to help, it made her really suspicious as to why she would want to help.

But the documents in her hands surprised her because Emily didn't remember her mother signing anything and moreover, placing the house as a collateral.

"You forged this! She... She won't sign this." she stuttered staring unbelievably at the document.

The house was among the property willed to her mother.

Ever since her mother was diagnosed with heart disease, they sold almost everything to be able to afford her treatment as well as paying the bills that needs to be paid.

Emily was sure that her mother won't do such a thing for the house meant alot to her. It was here that the memories of her once complete home lied in.

" To bad... She did" her step mother said.

" Anyway... To take back my money, I have agreed to sell the house"

Her eyes shut up to see Lucy. When she approached her, one of her boys stepped in.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Why else? To take back my money ND honestly, I would really love to see you homeless"

Still speaking, a sale sign was placed right outside the house.

" Fine then. If it's your money you need, I'll pay you back. I just need time"

By all means, Emily wasn't going to watch her stepmother do as she pleased

"Fine then, can you give me by money tonight?"

"Tonight?I.. it's not enough time. How am I going to get it within such short period of time?"

As though she wasn't already having a hard time, her step mother had to do this now.

"You should be lucky I'm giving you time to pay up. if you do as I say you will get the money to pay me. Well, there's someone I need you to satisfy and I'm sure you will do a good job besides if you are really good, he will be able to handle all your mother's bill" she shrugged as though she said nothing.

With fingers clenching into fists and teeth gritting against each other, Emily out of anger spat at her.

" To hell with you. I can assure you that you will pay for this one day" she shouted.

Lucy's hand went to her face cleaning the saliva that was planted there.

Huffing in anger, she clicked her hand and the next instant, Emily felt a strong grip on her hand.

" I think it's time for someone to learn some manners. Since your mother wasn't good teaching you some, I'll make sure to do the trick" a hard slap met Emily's face turning her cheeks red but she didn't cry from the pain.

"I'll make sure you and your mother are homeless"

Lucy said with rage.

Lucy had always hated her sister who was also Emily's mother.

She felt she was the reason why she didn't have a happy life.

Along with stealing the attention of their father, she also stole the attention of her husband.

Lucy was surprised when Emily's father came to her with a proposal for marriage and without hesitation, she agreed not out of love but with the intention to destroy Lucille, Emily's mother.

"Don't say I wasn't compassionate. I give you tonight to pay my money"

Yanking Emily by the hair, she pushed her away.

Emily who expected to fall to the ground found herself in a pair of strong arms.

With her tears still up her face, she heard a voice speak.

" How dare you hurt her?"

A deep hoarse voice which growled in a low but terrifying tone was heard.

With the back of Emily's hand she wiped away her tears and when she looked up to see the person's face, she was shocked at the sight before her.
