CHAPTER 2

SAM'S POV

I didn't say a word, I just stared at both of them

I looked at sierra with disappointment then to him

I turned and walked away slowly.

“Sam?” He called in shock, voice sharp with alarm but I was already moving, my heart pounded so hard like though it might tear through my chest, my hands shook as I fumbled with my shoes, barely managing to slide them on before grabbing my suitcase and heading for the door.

“Wait…Sam please wait” he shouted, footsteps pounding behind me

I stopped, but didn't turn around

“Please Sam just listen to me, I'm sorry It was…”

I turned around immediately with all the rage I felt landed a very hard slap on his face cutting him shut.

The sound cracked through the whole room

“You are sorry?, it was what?, a mistake?, hmm”

I chuckled ”wow, just wow”

“We have been together for 3 years, chase “

“If you got tired of me, or I wasn't enough for you, or not good enough for you, why didn't you just tell me, why didn't you just end it, why didn't you just let me go, why did you have to do this to me” I spoke softly but with hurt evident in my tone

“For fuck sake chase, even if you were going to cheat why my best friend, of all the women on earth why her?” I asked angrily with rage and with every hurt emitting from me

“I'm sorry Sam, I just loved him, I didn't want to hurt you” sierra said from where she stood guiltily at the stairs

“You just shut up, I will come to you later” I snapped at her

Turning back to chase

“Tell me chase, what was it? Was it the sex? It wasn't good enough or is it that you didn't love me any more because if you did you won't even as much as think of another woman so tel me what was it?” he was silent

“Answer me god dammit” I shouted angrily

“Sam…” he called guiltily

“See, you have nothing to say”

“You disgust me you animal”

“And as for you sierra” I said turning to her and pointed

“Did you just have to go for the man that was mine?”

“ Were you that desperate?” she couldn't even look me in the eyes

“You are…., sorry were my best friend, we grew up together, we have been there for each other, I have been there for you”

“Tell me were you just that envious of me?”

“You know what don't answer that, answer this instead”

“How long has this been going on” I asked slowly picking my words

“Weeks?”

“Months?” I look at chase

“ A year?” I looked back at sierra and she looked down twisting her feets

I just looked at them for some seconds quietly

“Wow” I laughed “I have been a fool for a year”

“And I came here direct from the airport just to see my man” I chuckled, “hoping he had missed me, but of course not he seemed to be having the time of his life”

“I have no man I was only a stupid girl”

I rambled on,

“How could I not see the signs?”

“I mean I did see, and I talked to you my friend and you told me I was being paranoid” I chuckled lowly

“oh what a fool”

“They were always signs, I just trusted you both alot to much, foolishly too much I suppose”

“ I must say you both are such great actors”.”you pretending to be happy for me”

“And you” turning to chase “pretending that you love me”

“Very remarkable performance “

“You guys didn't dim it fit or have any human sympathy that i was fooling my self so I deserved to be told and set free m, but no you decided to keep doing this for a whole year behind my back” I shouted this part at them

“You are a coward chase”

“You know you didn't just cheat on me, you humiliated me and you sierra,”

I pointed at her hands trembling, “ you hurt me so bad this is the biggest betrayal and I would never bring my self to forgive you, never”

“ I'm sorry, Sam…” she said voice trembling from crying

“I didn't mean for this to happen, I just…”

“You just lost a good friend” I interrupted her

“You just lost a sister, you just lost good memories, you just lost our childhood, you lost a good memory and I hope you know it is all your fault and you live to regret it

“This is the last time you'll see me or I would converse with you, both of you”

“ Have a nice life, I wish you both happiness”

I said turning around picking up my suitcase

“ No need to send any of my belongings to me burn them all, there all have bad memories”

I said and walked out on them, out of the house and out of their lives.

Never in my wildest dream would I have thought that sierra was capable of doing that to we were like sisters, we were friends from little age.

After my parents death my grandma took me in and raised me, a new environment, no friends I knew no one except my nana, at the kindergarten I was enrolled I also hadn't made any friends and didn't talk too except when asked I was always to my self.

The other kids used that to always bully me and I didn't always answer them cause I didn't want to.

Not until one day little pena, sweet looking but very troublesome child just had to tdisturb my peace.

I was playing with a doll alone when she came and she was like “that's my doll and I want to play with it”

And I told her that it wasn't hers that it's the school property and I'm playing with it when I'm done I would give it to her.

I may have been quite but I didn't le anyone push me around, this got her angry though because she was a spoilt child and what ever she wanted she got, she pushed I me, I fell and scraped my knee, an injury, she took the doll and I stood up immediately and pushed her too taking the doll away she stood up and started struggling with me, we started fighting till the teacher came and separated us.

When asked what happened the other kids said I refused to share the doll with pena but I told her that I was planning with it and if pena wanted it why didn't she wait or ask nicely that we play together.

We were both taken to the silent corner to wait for our parents. When her mom came she scolded me and not her daughter like I was at fault my nana had not come it made me sad and I started crying. Then sierra walked to me she gave me her hanky to wipe my tears and she told me not to cry she hugged me and we sat there still my nana arrived.

From that day on we became really close friend just the two of us untill Mira joined us when we were in grade 5 and three of us became the inseparable since then, not untill this betrayal.

I got into a cab and headed home.
