Chapter 004

Mavin's POV:

“Who was that lady?” I stared at Sir Adam angrily as he arrived in my room.

The last thing I remembered was that I sent him to get a glass of water for me, as I was busy going through my grandfather’s will.

Grandpa Charlie White wanted me to marry by force, and I didn’t want to.

I was the only child of my parents. Though my dad didn’t marry my mom, he later got married to another woman. When I was young, with my mom being a stripper and a club addict, Grandpa had to raise me all alone.

I disliked women with passion, and I couldn’t believe it that my own mother was rather filled with the lust and pleasure of this world that she would turn a blind eye on me and abandon me when I needed her the most.

I was 29 years old now, and Grandpa wouldn’t stop reminding me that I was getting old.

“Mavin, you need to get married so as to have a successor,” Grandpa Charlie kept on reminding me, as I was his favorite grandson.

Grandpa had other granddaughters and grandsons too, from his daughters and my father’s wife, but he never stared at them like they mattered whenever they visited him during festive seasons. He stated, “They’re all bearing their father’s surname and not mine.”

“You need to give me a great-grandson, Mavin, before I pass away,” Grandpa kept on reminding me every day like a national anthem, and this time I felt enraged, as that water wasn’t ordinary.

I felt as hard as a rock, and I was in need of a woman’s body badly.

I was burning hot. The pain that I felt in my dîck was immeasurable, as it hurt like it wanted to explode.

“Adam!! I will ask you for the last time before I involve the police... What did you do to me, and who was that lady that I saw on my bed this morning?”

I didn’t want to believe it that I slept with that fair lady.

The way she had stared at me in surprise with her big round blue eyes was shocking.

I hadn’t seen a lady with big eyes before, and it looked so pretty on her, as she blinked like a doll and stared at me like a dummy.

Her skin looked so soft and pampered, and I knew from the moment that I set my eyes on her that she was a rich man’s daughter, and her innocence was so visible on her face.

As much as I hated women around me, that didn’t mean that I wouldn't cherish one.

I mostly avoided women and was searching for the right one.

But what happened between me and that lady the previous night, I couldn’t remember, as my head still hurt and my memory was vague.

“Tell me for the last time, what did you do, Adam!!”

I felt angry and like grabbing Adam and hitting him for daring to drug me. He apologized. “I’m sorry, boss. Grand Master ordered me to do it.”

“To do what?” I asked, as I stood in my sitting room and glared at him.

My sitting room door pushed open gently, and my grandpa walked in.

"Mavin... What’s going on?”

“Good morning, Grandpa." I greeted him, as I was tying only a white towel around my waist, and he stared from Adam to me and smiled.

“You can leave us, Adam,” Grandpa spoke, but I quickly interfered. “No, Grandpa, I haven’t asked Adam to leave.”

“What’s the matter, Mavin, and who... was that lady that I saw leaving earlier?”

My fists clenched as I heard my grandpa’s question.

“I don’t know her, the same reason that I asked Adam to wait,” I replied, and I could see Grandpa stare at Adam pretentiously like he didn’t know what he had planned with our butler.

“Alright, Mavin. Be fast, as I would like you to accompany me to the hospital today,” Grandpa reminded me of his treatment, and I groaned. “Okay.”

I watched Grandpa turn and exit my room, while my eyes shifted to Adam.

“Can you start speaking now, else I won’t hesitate to fire you this minute? Who’s that lady, and where did you bring her from?” I asked Adam, as I wanted to know a little about the lady that I had slept with.

I knew that I shouldn’t be concerned about her, but I still wanted to know where Adam saw such a pretty, big-eyed, innocent-looking lady.

“I met her at the hotel,” Adam replied, and I asked, “Which hotel?”

“The LX Hotel.”

I frowned, knowing that was my grandfather's hotel. He had literally seized all the company, and he couldn’t seize mine, except I agreed and got married or gave him a child, at least, even though I wasn’t married.

I wasn’t against the idea of having children, but having a good woman to look after my kids was the problem, as all my past relationships had crashed and barely lasted a week.

“What’s her name, and which family is she from? I need you to find out more information about her, and do your research about her to know where exactly she’s from,” I ordered, and I turned to walk back into my room.

“Alright, boss.” Adam turned to leave, and I stopped him. “Wait, Adam... You haven’t told me her name yet... Didn’t you pay her at all?”

The last thing I didn’t want was for any lady to accuse me of rápe. In as much as I didn’t want to admit that I slept with that pretty.

The way she looked red, and how her body was plastered with hickeys all over her skin—it was so evident that I did sleep with her, and thinking about it made my muscles harden.

“She said her name is Thelma.”

“Thelma who? How can you bring in a lady here without her complete identity checked? Where’s the bank account info that you did the payment transfer to?” I asked, as I knew most of the rich families occupied City B. And it was either Thelma was a rich man’s daughter, or she was related to one, as I didn’t want to think of her as a prostitute.

“Boss, I haven’t transferred her payment yet. She ran away before I could get to her, and Grandpa already ordered Thompson to escort her out,” Adam spoke.

“Hm, leave and search for her.” I walked back into my bedroom and shut my room door heavily on Adam.

I wanted to take my bath and prepare to take Grandpa Charlie to the hospital.

As I stared at my white bedspread, I loved everything white and neat.

My eyes fell on the red bloodstain on the bedsheet, and I gasped, “What’s that?”

I rushed up to the mattress, picked it up, and my blood boiled hot as I knew exactly what it meant.

I had to gain access into LX Hotel to find out what exactly Thelma went to do there, and who exactly she was.

“But why do I care about her? It was one night, and there’s no need for me wanting to see her and speak with her again.”

I tossed the bedspread away onto the floor, and I walked into my bathroom to bathe, as the sun rose above the sky and shone brightly.
