Chapter 2: That Marriage Engagement Counts On

Wendy's entire body was stretched into a straight line as she shivered under Rex's feet. As Rex looked at her ruddy little face and her body, which was covered with hickeys, Rex's gaze was as deep as the abyss.

All these years, he had never been close to women, but this woman had succeeded in seducing him last night!

His complicated gaze flashed across Wendy's tear-stained face as he fiercely bit down on her delicate collarbone, leaving a bite mark.

"Ring-ring-ring!" Suddenly, a doorbell rang, and Wendy's spirits tensed up. Rex narrowed his eyes, let out a cold laugh, and withdrew from the room.

Wendy was too shocked. While Rex had already gotten out of bed with long legs, he slowly took a new set of clothes from the wardrobe and put them on.

After a long while, Rex turned around and looked at Wendy's immature face with an unmistakable gaze. His tone was frivolous and disdainful as he asked, "What's your name?"

Wendy was stunned. She did not dare to lie to him.

If he wanted her to disappear in Jena City alone, there were many ways.

She tightened her grip on the quilt and lowered her gaze. "Wendy Walters."

"Interesting. The name is not bad, but unfortunately…… you are a bit too wanton." Rex's thin lips curled into a smile. There was no emotion on his deep facial features, but he was as indifferent as ever, like a demon in the night.

It made people shudder.

Wendy's face instantly turned pale, and her clear eyes were filled with tears. Rex's indifferent gaze swept across the bed's scarlet marks and slowly tied up his tie. Without turning his head, he said, "You'd better remember the lesson, and I'll slowly settle that with you."

His voice was low and magnetic, melodious like a cello.

Wendy was stunned for a moment before she finally came to her senses.

By this time, Rex had already left.

The air in the room instantly resumed its flow. Without the strong pressure, Wendy had just breathed a sigh of relief when her sister Jenny Walters called.

Clare Smith knocked on the door and saw Mr. Gavyn come out. He immediately said respectfully, "Mr. Gavyn, you just came back from abroad. The board of directors has held a welcoming meeting today, saying you must attend."

"Fine." Rex closed the door and covered the lustful scene inside with his tall body.

There was a direct elevator from the presidential suite to the lobby on the first floor. While reporting the schedule, Clare secretly sized up Mr. Gavyn.

The man before Clare had spent three years establishing Glory Group, which was second to none in Jena City. Now, it had become the top group in the country.

Glory Group and Rex Gavyn.

These two keywords represented money and power.

Countless women had gone forth to get Rex's favor, but he had never taken them seriously.

"You have a cocktail party at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m……"

Thinking of the demure look of the little woman under him last night, Rex's eyes darkened. He interrupted Clare's arrangement and said, "How many daughters does the Walters Family have?"

"What?" Clare was stunned. Seeing the impatience in Rex's eyes, he immediately replied, "Mr. Walters and his first wife gave birth to Jenny, now the general manager of the Walters Group. His second wife gave birth to Wendy, who was in a car accident with Mr. Walters the year before last and is still lying in the hospital now."

It turned out that the little woman was an unwelcome second daughter. A hint of disgust flashed in Rex's eyes. It seemed that the two sisters wanted to take advantage of Halsey Green to save the Walters Group from the current crisis.

Looking at Mr. Gavyn's uncertain expression, Clare asked probingly, "Mr. Gavyn, when your father, Mr. Old Gavyn, was alive, he was Mr. Walters's good brother. They had arranged a baby marriage for you and the daughter of the Walters Group. Yesterday, Mrs. Walters sent someone to ask if that marriage still stands……"

The elevator opened with a sound, and Rex looked imposing, dressed in a handmade high-end suit. As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, the passersby around him made way for him.

Rex pondered silently for a moment. However, someone suddenly pushed through the crowd and rushed out.

Rex furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes. His sharp gaze swept across Wendy, who had pushed her way through the crowd and ran away in a hurry.

Interesting.

She dared to flee away!

"Mr. Gavyn?"

"Of course." Rex Gavyn sneered slightly, and his tone didn't contain the slightest warmth. "Answer Miss Walters; I'll come to visit her family tomorrow."

Wendy didn't even put on her clothes. While buttoning up, she shouted into the phone, "Jenny! I went to that room as you asked. How dare you ask someone to stop my mother's medicine? How dare you?"
